Guest guest
Hello, I'm happy you've joined this site but sorry that you have to. Both my sons have Lyme/ co-infections, as well as myself. Neither of my kids have taken Cipro but I have. I can't remember which specific drug really did a herx, including anxiety and a feeling of going crazy, for me but it was when I started Bartonella treatment. It may have been the Cipro. And, yes, it could be a herx. Bartonella seems to be bad for anxiety. My younger son has really struggled with it. Talk to your doctor if you are concerned but hopefully she will level out soon if it is a herx. Good luck. Our 14 yr old has been fighting Lyme and co, since 5/ 2008. She was only treated for 8 weeks back in 2008 for Lyme. May 2009, we finally saw a LLMD. She was diagnosed with bart and Erhliciosis, Mycoplasma P., Lyme She has been treating since 6/2009. She was on Mino and Rifampin. She just discontinued the Rifampin and is slowly starting Cipro and continuing the Mino, will at some point add in Tindamax only two days a week. Has any ones children taken Cipro for Bartonella? It seems to be stirring up some anxiety and nervousness, etc. I think it may be a herx, but worried that she may not be able to tolerate another med. any input is so appreciated. Guest guest
Mycoplasma can also cause anxiety. My daughter had Lyme and Myco and was on Rifampin for 3 months and then when anxiety symptoms returned ended up having to go back on Rifampin for another 3 months. I would suggest getting a Lyme literate naturopathic physician on your team if possible, there are many herbs that can help with anxiety symptoms. Also read as much as you can about helping her body detox, good whole food organic diet, lots of green vegetables, fruits, lots of water (can add lemon or lime), no to low sugar, probiotics, etc. From: heb555 <heb555@...> Subject: [ ] Introduction: Teenager with Lyme, Bart, Ehrliciosis Date: Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 9:25 AM  Hi, Just joined this site. Guest guest
Hi, When my 11 yr old daughter was restarted on rifampin for bartonella she had unbeleivable insomnia (she slept 3 hrs /night for 3 nights). We were told by the llmd to cut back and slowly re-introduce the rifampin and that helped tremendously. The doctor thought it was a Herx. I have heard from other parents that bartonella can have some anxiety producing effects in their children. By the way, my daughter just started tindamax 2 days/week 1 month ago and has tolerated it well... Hope that helps, Aviva On Apr 13, 2010, at 12:25 PM, heb555 wrote: > Hi, > > Just joined this site.
