Guest guest
I don't understand why that's " suspicious " ...if he tests positive both acutely and chronically for that one band, what's suspicious about it? My daughter tested positive for 6 bands IGM and 13 bands IGG, so it was obvious....but from what I understood, we need to go to Igenex because it tests ALL bands, and you only need ONE to be positive and get sick. What about his co-infection results? Guest guest
coinfections were all negative except positive for erhlichia and he has had symptoms for the last 5 years but they are not necisarily severe. chronic headaches that originate in the back of head (MRI fine) chronic stomach aches (GI specialist is stumped), hyperactive but can focus in school, and just a few other little things that could be anything. i also forgot to mention that igenex also did the provocation test on his blood and that was negative. i guess it is suppose to " provoke " the lyme into activity if it was in his blood??? danielle On Sat, Sep 11, 2010 at 6:49 AM, Junia Dragon <juniadragon@...> wrote: > > > I don't understand why that's " suspicious " ...if he tests positive both > acutely and chronically for that one band, what's suspicious about it? Guest guest
No, one band doesn't make you positive for Lyme under Igenex. I had the same thing and we ended up doing a PCR test after an antibiotic challenge. The suspicious part is that if you test that one band positive, you have had and no doubt (to us lay people) have it, but they have to be careful to really quantify the results so they typically do an antibiotic challenge and then retest to confirm what they believe is the case. At least that's how I understand it,. Guest guest
I think what they are referring to is what some call " equivocal. " I THINK that means the band changed color a little but not really dark that would make a definitive positive. Some LLMD's think that is as good as positive when you back it up with a list of other physical symptoms of Lymes. Which is how they use to diagnose it before the unreliable testing started. Personally, I think, and I'm no doctor, that it wouldn't change at all unless Lyme's were present! How else is it going to change? You can't be a little pregnant can you? Also, if you have another test done. Make sure you take 5 or 6 days of something like Doxycycline first to really stir up the spirochetes. They bond to free radicals in your blood that help them hide from the test. The antibiotics make them release under stress so they go crazy trying reproduce. Like when you step on an ant pile. Sounds creepy I know but then they are easier to kill. And that massive die off causes your herxheimer reactions! Some have them, some don't. And don't just have your blood tested, have your urine tested also. IGENX does both.
