Guest guest
I have hairloss too. It's been going on for the past 1 1/2 years. It think it's medication related. But, I'd rather live with the hairloss than the pain and progressive joint destruction of an untreated autoimmune disorder. My pain is too serious to even consider not taking meds. I guess you have to ask yourself which is more important to you. Maybe you're pain isn't that bad? Anyway, my hair does grow back. It's not as full as it used to be but, it's still healthy and grows. We all have losses when we develop a chronic illness and losses that come with changes in our lives. It's a natural part of the life cycle that nothing stays the same. I know my hairloss has bothered me alot and has lead to some grieving over all that I've lost since getting sick. I feel your pain. My hair has always been an important part of my looks and that's important to me. But, try to keep your perspective and your sense of humor too. Sometimes the doctors just have a solution for every symptom. That doesn't diminish the importance of what you are feeling and doesn't mean you should stop looking for solutions. But, there's also a balance between acceptance and insisting that your doctor give you the most complete and comprehensive treatment possible. I've gone to more than one doc about my hairloss and so far nothing has helped. So, I've decided to accept it and live with it. Good luck to you Joan
Guest guest
No, I have incredible pain and am unable to even work right now. I can't even turn my neck. I have worked all my life! I have had so many bad experiences with meds that I decided what is the point. They only cover up the real problem and create more side effects for me. I have begun seeing a holistic dr. who made me cry at our first visit because she not only understood about my hairloss she was appalled that not one had took notice and said " hey, your hair doesn't fall out unless your body is in crisis! " She said that with EVERY autoimmune issue there is a cause and that cause needs to be found. Traditional doctors haven't given me a solution to any of of my problems, they've just covered them up and caused something else to go wrong. She said sometimes it is simple, sometimes not. I feel better with her and her holistic approach than with meds that are causing cancer and fatalities. My hairloss is not a gradual thing. It is coming out in handfuls every day. I just pray that something gives soon. Thanks for your reply.
