Guest guest
I wouldnt panic--dose and timing are very individual--I personally cannot tolerate meds before 2 pm so I take a bolus (large) oral dose of my meds at once with dinner--Im now on 300-400 mg suprax suspension plus 200 mg minocycline also suspension--theoretically I SHOULD be dividing the doses and meds but in almost 5 months Ive had better tolerance this way!! Plus weight isnt the only factor--your child's other medical issues may play a part-- as for the math, Rich is very good at that!! Id just say that is often a MAX dosage, not always " optimal " or what may work as well!! plus the total of 1000 mg can be 500 mg twice or 350 mg three times a day for Evan ( almost 19) we often combine doses to do 2 things--reduce frequency he has to remember to take it AND so that more gets into his system at once--a sort of daily pulsing. the half life ( time for half to be excreted or changed to a non active substance--is .7-1.4 hrs--and many things may prolong that (like how efficiently your child breaks it down and removes it) Id agree with Rich---shouldnt be a problem for now but as always check with your usual Dr when he gets back!!
