Guest guest
post and pass along EVERYWHERE Estriol taken off the Market at behest of a drug company!!!!  Unprecedented action by FDA- Estriol removed from the market after direct request by WYETH Pharmaceuticals!!  Please write/email and phone your congressmen and senators expressing your disagreement with this. NO drug company should be allowed this sort of power and be allowed to play puppetmaster to the FDA. AND if possible boycott Wyeth. Have your Drs change prescriptions and/or avoid buying anything from their OTC line of products.  Background  Estriol is a natural form of estrogen and is considered to be an excellent treatment for women looking to ease menopausal symptoms and for some with multiple sclerosis. It’s the safest form of estrogen due to its ability to protect against the adverse effects of the other stronger estrogens in the body. For DECADES, estriol has been recognized by the USP ( Unites States Pharmacopoeia) which is the official standards-setting authority for all drugs, supplements and other health care products.  There has been NO evidence of toxicity or dangers that prompted this removal and NEVER before has something been summarily removed from the market under these circumstances, solely at the behest of a drug company.  Why would Wyeth ask for this?? In 2002 a large study was terminated after it was found that Wyeth’s blockbuster drug PREMPRO ( Horse urine hormones and synthetic “progesteroneâ€) dramatically increased risk of breast cancer, heart attacks and stroke.  Unsurprisingly women wanted nothing more to do with Prempro! Or even other conventional ( non-natural or synthetic) hormone drugs which meant SALES plummeted. The women turned to pharmacies that compounded natural ( bioiedentical) hormones including estriol per individualized prescriptions from their doctors. Unwilling to let profits slip away and cheered on by other drug companies also looking to dampen competition by natural substances; Wyeth turned to their buddies at the FDA and well, we now see what powerful drug companies more interested in profit can do. This cannot be allowed to continue. Please consider taking whatever action you can.
