Guest guest
Hey Marta, the doctor said it was my nerves. He gave me some ointment to put on it. My life right now seems like a downfall. Lyme problems, then my nerves and anxiety attacks. I also found out yesterday that I had a little bit of blood in my urine, well my kidneys had been hurting, so. The doctor said to come back in six weeks and we will do another blood test to check on the Lyme and take another urine sample. When I go back in 6 weeks and they take my blood, will the antibiotics reduce the Lyme on my test? Will I see a difference is what I am asking. While I was there yesterday, a little girl, no older than 5 was there, she must not have felt good, well they told her mother she had Lyme disease. I heard her mother say, " I don't see how, since I didn't find a tick on her " . I wanted to run after her and tell her that just because you don't find a tick or rash doesn't mean you can't have Lyme, but my name was then called to check in. Guest guest
Good Morning Marta! I was given Cutivate for the rash, which has cleared up by the way. And I was also given Zoloft for anxiety attacks. Although I can't see that helping me any. I was definately stressed out of my mind last week, but I have been that way before and never a rash. I've been on Doxycycline for about 7 weeks now, but I still get alot of achy joints and fatigue. I agree with you, there are alot of people who just think lyme is some rash and it disappears and there is nothing else wrong with you. Its hard trying to get people to understand why you don't feel good, why your body aches and why your so tired all the time. I feel like people are getting tired of me complaining about aches and pains all the time, but its something we can't help. Thanks for all your support and information. Guest guest
Hi Anne, Just gonna hazard a guess here since you have already seen the doctor when I am replying, but it could be a yeast rash. I used to get them on my trunk before I started to take my acidophilus correctly. Just a guess....let me know what the doctor says. Marta >From: Anne Marie <amrhodes@...> > >Has anyone ever gotten a rash, not a bullseye rash, but like little >red bumps that itch like crazy? Just wondering if this was a symptom >or if it was my nerves. It was really bad yesterday which was a very >stressful day for me, and today it is still itching, it just doesn't >look as bad. Guest guest
Hi Anne, >From: Anne Marie <amrhodes@...> > >Hey Marta, the doctor said it was my nerves. He gave me some ointment >to put on it. My life right now seems like a downfall. Lyme problems, >then my nerves and anxiety attacks. I am skeptical when a doctor blames nerves for anything, rashes included. Did the ointment clear up the rash? Anxiety with Lyme disease is a major problem, especially when you are newly infected and wondering what the future holds. Did he rx something to help you with this? Ativan or Xanax? > I also found out yesterday that I >had a little bit of blood in my urine, well my kidneys had been hurting, >so. The doctor said to come back in six weeks and we will do another >blood test to check on the Lyme and take another urine sample. Lyme will attack the bladder, I seem to have lots of bladder problems when I herx, I went to the doctors and insisted I had a bladder infection, I did have blood in my urine too, but other tests revealed no infection. I went to a urologist and had the gamut of awful tests, cystoscopies etc. and all was negative. I found an abstract about Lyme affecting the bladder, showed it to the urologist and he agreed. He told me the blood in my urine was benign hematuria, and that makes sense to me. The bladder symptoms like everything else come and go now. > >When I go back in 6 weeks and they take my blood, will the antibiotics >reduce the Lyme on my test? Will I see a difference is what I am >asking. If you mean will the antibiotics cause the Lyme test to be negative.....yes it is possible. There are many reasons the tests will be negative, if you need more information on this just holler and I will send them to you. Since Lyme is a clinical diagnosis anyway, your physician should not be relying on them to treat you. > >While I was there yesterday, a little girl, no older than 5 was there, >she must not have felt good, well they told her mother she had Lyme >disease. I wanted to run after her and tell her that just >because you don't find a tick or rash doesn't mean you can't have Lyme, >but my name was then called to check in. I know exactly how you felt, when I found out how sick a person can get on Lyme and how you can be infected without seeing the tick or a rash, I wanted to run down the street knocking on doors...I have had to restrain myself many a time when someone near and dear to me mentioned they HAD Lyme years ago, but it was cured, but these same people now have fibromyalgia, MS or other diagnosis'. I learned that people just don't want to hear about Lyme disease, so I no longer offer my opinion, unless I am specifically asked. Hopefully the doctor answers the mother's questions. Let us know how you are doing, Marta
Guest guest
Hi Anne, This is one of the reasons I feel this Lyme-aid list can be a great help. I really think it is best for us to complain to each other than to those that do not have a clue. At least we can identify and support each other. Glad the rash went away, and give the Zoloft some time to work, Hugs, Marta >From: Anne Marie <amrhodes@...> I feel like people >are getting tired of me complaining about aches and pains all the time, >but its something we can't help. > >Thanks for all your support and information. > >Anne

Guest guest
Hi Lovette, Wow, can I relate to that! I've had Lyme for nearly 6 years, and in the beginning and for a long time after that, I would be so happy to meet and talk to someone else with Lyme. I would read anything I could read (still do!). I couldn't hear or read enough, just to validate that I wasn't going crazy, that all these bizarre symptoms were part of the same disease, and that other people shared the same symptoms (so they *must* be part of the same disease and I wasn't really dying!). With such an odd disease as Lyme, we need the support and validation badly........and we get that here! :-) Hugs, Chrissy Ü In a message dated 11/2/98 5:38:45 PM Eastern Standard Time, smott@... writes: << Dear Marta and Anne: If I didn't have this group to confirm, reaffirm, and sympathize with me, I would drive my doctors crazy! Guest guest
to me it sounds like Bart. But Bart doesn't always come and go -- in my kids it comes, gets very dark, and lingers for weeks. We have Lyme and Co and often get strange rashes like the one you have described. Usually it's part of herxing. They appear in an area about the size of my hand. They are usually on his back/hip area, thighs and today his chest. The skin is usually pink w/ raised welts that are sometimes in lines, but not always. They itch so I don't know if the red streaks/lines are from his scratching or if that's part of the rash itself. The dr also found a single, more typical bartonella " stretch mark " on his back that I had not noticed before. I'm wondering if his rash sounds simular to anyone else's and if they sound more like Lyme or Bart? I just went to check on it to see if I described it correctly and it's gone (maybe 30 minutes ago we saw it). thanks, Elaine
Guest guest
Hi Natasha, Hmmm, well the rashes started the day before we saw the dr and of course the rash was gone when we tried to show it to her. That day, the dr stopped the tinctures he was taking for bab and bart so it shouldn't be a herx since the rash started before he stopped. He has been symptom free for a few months now but has never really been all that sick.  ________________________________ From: Natasha Moiseyev <nmoiseyev@...> Sent: Sun, January 30, 2011 3:39:36 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Rashes?  to me it sounds like Bart. Guest guest
it could very much be a herx if he had the rash before stopping the tinctures. Those can give herxes, definitely. These infections can have strange, transient symptoms. I remember going in to see a doctor (my primary care was not there) and telling him I had pain deep in my eardrum. It was discouraging that he looked at it, and told me in a very supercilious way that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me and certainly nothing that would cause ear pain. Of course, now I know ear pain is a symptom of Lyme. Hmph. Felt like such a hypochondriac that day. Hope the rash stays gone this time. Guest guest
hmmm, my daughter has some rashes that sound like that, sometimes they look like scratches (red) and they come and go but they are not so itchy. We finally had the rashes biopsied and they turned out to be hives. Not sure if the hives are in response to herxing or flare up of disease of to the many drugs she is on! ________________________________ From: Natasha Moiseyev <nmoiseyev@...> Sent: Sun, January 30, 2011 3:39:36 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Rashes?  to me it sounds like Bart. Guest guest
Megs bart rashes would come and go with in the hour. They could be very dark and even a few hours later very light with faint faint white lines. Odd rashes have been a hallmark of these infections for her though. The itching red patches on her hands especially, are a problem. They can get so bad that they hurt. In the past she would get a lace like rash on her chest, but that has not appeared in a while. Guest guest
When Meg's rashes would come and go, I would take pictures of them at the worst so I could show the doctor in case they were gone. (which they usually were.)
