> Has anyone here had experience with Remicade?

Hi .:)

I have been on remicade for 2 or 3 years.. lost track. I get 500 mg every

8 weeks by infusion. It seems to help a lot. I used to have problems

with slow wound healing at first. The infusion needle marks were usually

still there at the next treatment time.

They always watch my blood pressure carefully. One time it went up to 180

over something for a while. they are also watching my liver enzymes. They

are higher than they should be but they are stable so we are ok for

now----

My joints are pretty stable at this point though I'm really late in

getting my meds as I've been away from home. Based on my experience I do

recommend remmy-- of course different things work better for certaini

people. He was going to put me on humira but said why when the remmy was

working so well.

Any other questions.. pleae don't hesitate to ask.

Liz

I used Remicade for two years and now I've been on humira for a year. I have had

more improvement on humira than remicade, but I have ReA and Fibro and I'm male.

It also took more than a few months before the humira startedto work. I also

take humira once a week, rather than the normal every other week. If we just

where all alike, it would be so simple to say how something is going to work on

each of us? Helwig

,

Have been on remicaide for almost 3 years. This drug has been a miracle for

me as I often tell people " I have my life back. " No side affects what so

ever; however, when the infusion is to fast I tend to get migraines, but

once the rate is slowed down the headaches usually dissipate quickly. Hope

this helps.

well tiffanie just had her first one yesterday. she was tired durring

because of the benedryl... they said we might not notice a differance

right away... however i do. she had that sickly, tired look all the

time; but today she looks like a normal kid. energy is a bit up. i am

not sure if that is from the steroids they inject before they give the

remicade or if it is because of the remicade... so far tho i think i am

very glad to have switched. good luck to you!

my son started remicaide about 20 months ago, after enbrel did not work. I was told that for some kids it does make a difference even the first month. For us it took about 6 months to notice a change. He started by having less fatigue, then his joints started to get better. I do notice that he is very tired the day of the infusion from the benedryl, but his energy level is 100% better overall. His inflammation is way down, and he is doing so much better!! Good luck if you switch, I hope it works for you guys as well as it did for us.

The infusion exhausts Abbie for about 24 hours. But other than that, no

change in energy level.

Hello Everyone,

I had my first Remicade infusion on Tuesday. So far so good! The

only real side effect I had is that I was very tired...so tired that I

slept all night Tuesday night! :) There has been no other change in my

condition, but of course I was not expecting anything yet. One thing

I have noticed is that I am extremely thirsty. I don't see where this

is a listed side effect of the Remicade. Has anyone else had this

problem with Remicade? I figured if this is still going on on Monday

I might give my rhuemy a call.

Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks, Ronda
