Guest guest
, As you know I live in Lowell, MA and I wouldn't brave that. Wow! you are brave. I intend after 6 weeks to join the boys and girls club my son belongs to and swim there. It is heated! yes. > > I wanted to let everyone know that I went swimming today in my outdoor > pool..I used a wet suit, the temp of the water was 68 degrees...I know > this may not seem big, but for me it is....I am just starting to get > back in to exercising again..something I could not do for the last year > before revision....boy, my feet were cold..the wet suit only goes to my > knees!!!I am so happy with my progress..only you all would find somne > happiness for me in this event, most folks would say " what is the big > deal " only true flatbackers would understand my excitement!!!!, PA >
Guest guest
Hi .... I don't know about the wetsuit that you used, but I'd encourage you to be careful about all the bending and twisting that is often necessary to get into one. :-) Regards, > > I wanted to let everyone know that I went swimming today in my outdoor > pool..I used a wet suit, the temp of the water was 68 degrees...I know > this may not seem big, but for me it is....I am just starting to get > back in to exercising again..something I could not do for the last year > before revision....boy, my feet were cold..the wet suit only goes to my > knees!!!I am so happy with my progress..only you all would find somne > happiness for me in this event, most folks would say " what is the big > deal " only true flatbackers would understand my excitement!!!!, PA >
Guest guest
-- , It is a cheapo that I bought a few years back....I bought it big so it is only a bit snug...no major bending or twisting involved, just needed my daughter to help me pull it up over my butt!! I was reading the piece Cam posted about the surgery from that surgeon...My thoughts were " shit, I just went through that!!! Guest guest
Lordy .....68 deg.!!!!I swim in an indoor pool and the temp is usually 82-83deg. and I hate it when I come in the door and see the temp is posted any lower than that. Good on ya for getting in! I imagine you had anice warm day today to encourage you a little bit. I know how you feel...it is great getting back to some pasttimes you gave up. My big excitement today....I rode about 12 miles on my new " Townie " bicycle (I don't remember if I told you all I finally bought one a couple of weeks ago). It is the perfect position for sitting upright as is now necessary. As everyone has said, when you get on a bike a smile just spreads ear to ear. Now I just have to change to a new routine incorporating a little biking and a little swimming into every week. Its great to get back to it. Congrats! Guest guest
PA, I think both DianneS and I got permission to resume biking at the 6/7 month visit. Remember not to add anything to your activity list that is not doctor approved at this stage! I suspect the reason with biking isn't so much the biking....its the risk of falling! I will say that when I tried out a few bikes last fall after I was " okayed " to start biking none of the bikes I tried felt right and every little bump still was felt right up my spine. No longer so....things have solidified and the Townie (Electra Bike) which DrRand had showed me was a good fit....although I did buy the men's model because it fit my height better. Enjoy the pool. Are you doing vertical workouts...just water walking? Cam
Guest guest
Save all your receipts for putting the pool in, and when you are ready to do your taxes for the year put in, contact a tax expert, you could possibly deduct some of the cost. If you have already done the taxes for that year, still contact an expert, taxes can always be revised. susan
