Guest guest
Sounds like gout to me. My mother has this happen with her big toe except it gets a red bump and hot to touch. Celeste -
Guest guest
Celeste I've had a similar problem with my big toe this winter -- extremely tender and painful, and sometimes swollen. Th odd thing was the red spot, in my case on the tip of my toe, but the pain is in the whole toe, which is swollen and inflamed. It's made worse if my feet get cold, but as it's painful wearing shoes, I'm having to wear two pairs of socks and some lovely over-sized pink fluffy slippers! My doctor is baffled by what it might be, but has put it down to poor circulation (I also have a heart condition that may be affecting this). I don't know if it's related to the PA, but I'm always suspicious of any new symptoms, and I'm pretty sure it isn't either a chilblain or gout. Please let us know if you find out what your poor daughter has -- and if there's anything that can be done about. In the meantime, let's hope for an early and warm spring!
