Guest guest
You have a serious rT3 problem causing you to be even more hypo than your labs look. Your FT3/rT3 ratio is 8 and it should be over 20. I would expect that the Synthroid would only make your rT3 worse. You had a bad reaction to Armour? When you say " hyper " do you mean it made you anxious? That could be from low ferritin. When my rT3 was bad I was retaining water in my knee and couldn't bend it. I switched from Armour to Armour + T3 for awhile and the swelling finally went down and I could bend it again. I am now on 100% Erfa. I would think you would need to be on a T3-type med, not Synthroid. Guest guest
Wow, I was just thinking about this subject...and was goign to post on my GH forum...which is all but dead right now.... My IGF-1 was in the 90's for most of 2007-8 until we finally got the dose up. then I my IGF-1 was only at 130 on a dose of .05 mg. then last year it dropped again back to the 90's so they upped it to .06 mg...the most they want to prescribe to me... Anyway I just had my appointment and my IGF-1 was a astounding 240 or something like that the top of my range....ha! So what did it, you ask? Good question, I think it was the new testosterone I started on (part of my bio-identicals). I had read that testosterone and GH work together and given my history this sure makes sense...cause the estrogen should have decreased it but as with all hormones BALANCE wins! So it got me to wondering if some of your issues with GH were in fact related to the testosterone...AND if part of the reason you metabolize the Testosterone so fast is your low GH... My husband has a fantastic IGF-1 somewhere around 300 and he metabolizes his testosterone rather slowly....He is 6'4 " and about 240 with not much body fat... Just a thought.... Guest guest
I have been on Armour for over 4 yrs up to 4 grains it was when I add Growth Hormone last Nov. that my thyroid went Hyper. I was sweating very bad my heart rate and BP were up and my Temps avg. went up from 98.4 to 99.2 this is hyper. We lowered the dose until I was only on 15 mgs of Armour and I was still hyper. So we stopped Armour and I was fine now my dose of GH was to high my hands and feet started to go numb and I started to hold a lot of water. My Estradiol was going nuts on this dose .3mgs a day. I did not know this and just thought my Dr. was taking me off GH because of the sides I was having. He did not tell me he was putting me back on it when it cleared out of my body. On the HGH my Thyroid will start working again so we are trying T4 only because my T4's have always been very low. He does not want me to try Armour again until we see how I do on the lower dose of GH. My RT3 has been high because I had heart by pass sugary on HGH it came down. So we will see how this goes I pray it works I went through hell on the higher dose of HGH. Guest guest
Judy this is the thinking my Dr. is woking at to get my IGF-1 levels good not to high on .3 mgs of GH I was over the top of the range. So as my levels come back up we will try lowing my Testostereone dose. Guest guest
RT3 has been high due to the stress of Heart by pass sugary it came down on HGH so we will see how it goes. I can't take T3 only meds this is why we did not go back on Armour. As I get back on HGH my Thyroid will start working again if not then we will he look at Armour again. Guest guest
Phil, I was thinking about your previous symptoms... Growth Hormone usually lowers your thyroid and cortisol....so perhaps your cortisol levels may have been causing some of your problems.. Thought it was worth mentioning to keep and eye out for....cause you know if you cortisol drops your thyroid will go wacky too.... Guest guest
Yep but testing it and we do this every 8 weeks I take my 10 mgs of cortef in the morning then do a fasting Cortisol lab test on this my labs would come back at between 9 to 12 on HGH they came back higher 15. So Growth Hormone made my Thyroid work better and my Adrenals work better. You see in my case it's my Pituitary not telling my Thyroid or Adrenls to work there is nothing wrong with them they just don't get the message to work. My Dr. told me the HGH is helping my Pituitary to heal so we need to keep an eye on everything. Guest guest
That is cool and I hope it is true, but I have never ever heard of it happening to anyone else...will be interesting to see. My pitutary does not make any growth hormone and my adrenals are damaged by too many years of adrenal insufficiency and I too take 4 grains of thyroid....once I started on GH I had to increase my Armour. Of course the difference between us that initially started this conversation is testosterone. You have plenty and have been monitoring yours for years...I just started adding it back to my body and that was when I got the higher IGF-1. it used to worry me that I was running around with an IGF-1 so low.... Guest guest
Well I had a good day went to the gym for 90 min's the shopping for an lawn edger blade 5 stores later I found one I hate shopping. I will get my GH next week. So far I am doing good on the Synthroid but I can't help but feel something is off I dumped a lot of water now I am starting to put in back on. I can feel it in my hands and feet and I am taking some powerful water pills two kinds. Guest guest
You will probably retain water at first but it should go away...if it gets to be too much ask your doctor about taking your shot every other day, until you body get used to the GH. Since you have such a healthy level of T it may take a while. usually it take about 6 weeks for your body to adjust to a need dose. I had some headaches at first and a littel water retention but it did go away...now that I started the T I find I am holding more water so i am reducing my dose a little. \the key is to start very low anbd go up very slow. Guest guest
Yes this is what I am hearing from other guys on HGH at Dr. 's and they are saying one dose not need as much Testosterone meds on HGH so as this goes on I will try lowering my T shots they say this will help with the Estradiol problems I was having. I think HGH fixes the body heals it makes it work better and higher dosing of hormones are not need on HGH.
