Guest guest
Marc, When we are at a point, a crossroad like you are, our best strategy in deciding which road to take is to learn from others. If you accept that logic, then you should see the TRT D.O. without a doubt. Posting after posting illustrates the frustration that guys have had with endos and the success they have had with a knowledgeable TRT doctor (seems like they are usually a D.O.). It seems like the obvious chocie is to see the TRT DO. My 2 cents... Bill ________________________________ From: marc200134470 <cfs38@...> Sent: Wed, June 2, 2010 3:27:12 PM Subject: Well I am bummed now,.......  Finally saw my doc at 8PM last night. He often runs late due to having to run to the hospital. Anyway, my MRI showed 'no abnormalities' whatsoever. His words from the report. That is good news of course if it's accurate. I certainly have no desire to have a tumor growing in my head by any means. My cardiac related tests also came back fine as well. As I expected, he referenced my LH as normal and said good! I then brought up my points that I was prepared to. In all fairness he said that I could certainly be correct, but if I wanted to pursue all the different pathways that could be responsible he wants to refer me to a female endo that supposedly specializes in all of this stuff. I guess he just wanted to write a scrip for Testim, and have me test my levels again in a month. I have read a lot here basically saying that endo's stink, and are a waste of time and money. I just don't get it,......I simply want to find out if my E2 is high, and get a more detailed T test showing SHBG as well. What is wrong with these people and why do they care about ordering the tests that a patient wants? I really think that since ALL of my tests came back good for a guy my age, that he thinks I am making up how bad I feel, and he can't understand why I don't simply want a scrip for Testim. Oh well,.....I have to check other avenues I guess. Don't know whether to give the endo a shot or not, or if I should go see this D.O. here that deals in TRT. I'll figure it out when I get a chance. Guest guest
Bill,....I think you are correct. I was already leaning that way in reality. He allows a free 15 minute consult BTW, which should give me time to find out what he is into, and isn't. Thanks for confirming things for me, and you are right,....I AM confused and frustrated at this point.
Guest guest
Well you could see the Endo he says she is good at it will your health care plain pay for it. Call her ask Questions you could still have a pituitary probelm how do you have a low T level and a lower LH and FSH. Call her ask her is she tests for Estradiol in men and if one is high will she use Arimidex to get it down and ask if one is Secondary will she use HCG and test for Growth Hormone. You will know fast if she knows about this. Guest guest
It is very very discouraging to keep going to doctors and be yet again diappointed...BUT you just have to fight for yourself. If you do have a pitutary problem you will want to try and get that diagnoses in order to get good treatment and that in itself is another battle. I went to no less than seven doctors in a span of six months until I finally found my Endo and she is worth her weight in gold to me. I did a lot of hunting around on the internet to find an Endo that prescribed Armour. That seemed to be the trick to finding a doctor that was open minded. BUT she does not take insurance, fortunately for me I have PPO insurance so I am able to get some reinbursement. It requires a really stubborn attitude to insist on finding yourself a good doctor don't give up it is really worth it and you CAN do it.
