Guest guest
Hi and Welcome, I got sick at age 38 my serum T was 120 but my sex life was fine. I felt very fatigued and pushed my self to keep going until I could not get out of bed. I felt feelings of Depression and later was told this was my Problem. A very long story you can read it at this link. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=5 & t=9239 Yes Androgel it the highest costing forum of TRT out there. I was on it but did not do to good on it. I feel every man that needs TRT should try Androgel or Testim first. If you don't do well on it your later you can't pay for it you can switch to shots no problem. One then before you try this is to be sure your Dr. ran enough tests to find out why your low. One big problem with men our age is high levels of Estraidol if your above 30 best at 20 pg/ml this can make your T levels low. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 If your levels for Estradiol are high getting this down your Total T levels can come up some 200 to 300 points on labs. http://www.medibolics.com/ArimidexBoostsTestosterone.htm As for your questions. 1) DHEA will not make your Testosterone levels go higher this only happens to women in men it can make your Estradiol levels go up. 2) I will not say Androgel helped it's any kind of TRT helps. I got my energy back suffer much less fatigue and the feelings of Depression were gone. I had sore joints and muscles with some bad brain fog this all get much better. I was at a 10 for mood and fatigue after being on TRT getting my levels up into the upper 1/3 of my labs range and keeping my Estradiol down I went from a 10 to a 2 big improvement. There is no such thing proving being on Testosterone meds will give you Prostate Cancer or Heart problems. I had Heart problems from the lack of hormones. Today Dr.'s are finding out Prostate Problems are due in some men to high Estradiol levels and low Testosterone. Here are some links for you to read about low T. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html As for the labs you needed go to Dr. 's site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success in this are labs you needed and why Dr. puts this out there free for you and your Dr. And if you can go join his forum and read the Hormones 101 sticks. http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15849 Make sure your Dr. tested your Thyroid and Cortisol levels a lot of us men with low T end up with them problems. Guest guest
Phil, I haven't replied after getting your information rich, detailed answer. Thanks for the information. I take it that since, as you said, DHEA in & of itself may/ can raise the Estraidol levels w/o raising my t levels, that taking DHEA by itself isn't a good idea.. correct? WIll work my way through the info & links you sent me.
Guest guest
Well if your DHEA levels are very low taking 25 mgs / day can help some men feel better but no taking DHEA will not make a mans Testosteone levels go up it will make a women's Testosterone go up. Now if you don't need DHEA and your levels are not very low taking it or to much of it can make your Estraidol levels go up. If you tested your DHEA and found it low next thing you need to test is your Cortisol levels do a 4x's in a day Saliva test in this link it shows what happens to DHEA as one goes through the stages of Adrenal problems read each stage one starts out with very high levels of cortisol ending up in the last stage very low. And what your seeing is labs from a Saliva test. http://www.chronicfatigue.org/ASI%201%20.html In this link you can find where to buy a saliva test on your own. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/recommended-labwork/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/ Co-Moderator Phil > From: Copsey <george@...> > Subject: Re: recent low T dx: ?'s re: DHEA vs Androgen gel? > > Date: Tuesday, December 21, 2010, 8:18 PM > Phil, > > I haven't replied after getting your information rich, > detailed answer. > > Thanks for the information. > > I take it that since, as you said, DHEA in & of itself > may/ can raise the Estraidol levels w/o raising my t levels, > that taking DHEA by itself isn't a good idea.. correct? > > WIll work my way through the info & links you sent me. > > > >
