Guest guest
Sir, I was 119 a few years ago. I tried Testim and it got worse mostly because of my skin. I inject T 2 times weekly 50 mg and 500 iu of HCG on the days inbetween. I am always around 700 to 900 on the same scale as your on. Bottom line NO DEPRESSION or abnormal thoughts pressures or desires. Just my opinion but you may have not given Your T shots a good dose or frequently enough. You shouldn't be anywhere that low Regards, Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry 40 yr old - Hypogonadism - Starting to Feel Hopeless... I started to post this as a response in another thread but decided it's time to start my own. I was diagnosed with Secondary Hypogonadism in 1996. I was 27. My T score was 164 in a range of 241-827. I was extremely lethargic, depressed & had no motivation. Since that time I have averaged a T score of 327 using scrotal cremes, patches, injections, gels & pellets. Always independently, I've never used any in combination. I suppose I had resolved it was impossible to bring my T up any higher. I never pressed the issue with my Dr. Not sure why. 6 months ago it dawned on me that there is no reason my T levels should not be at least in the mid levels of normal. To my knowledge I have never experienced what having that level of testosterone feels like. I read the T pharm literature talking about " getting the edge back " or " feel like you felt when you were younger " etc. On 11-23-09 I had, I believe, 10 Testopel pellets implanted. Then I had a Total T test taken on 12-23-09. The results came back today. My score went up a whole 30 points. 415 to 445. Very disappointing. $1000.00 for the pellets, $200.00 for the Dr. to put them in. I see him tomorrow to discuss the results. He acted confident this would get me to the middle of normal range. I'm not sure where to go from here. It's probably time for me to find another Dr. The Endocrinologist I see is really well known and respected in the city I live in but I may need to see someone that specializes in hormones. Anyone have any ideas or comments to share? My ears are open. Sorry this post is so long. Jack
Guest guest
Hi Jack what took you so long to post, We are going to spend a lot of time talking I am Secondary took me 23 or 27 yrs on TRT to figure this out. You need to stop seeing Endo's they are not good for this problem if they were you would have been fixed a long dam time ago. The Pellets you just had done says this. " Each sterile pellet weighs approximately 77mg (75mg testosterone) and is ready for implantation. " Your Dr. just ripped you off I had the same dam thing happen to me when I tried them. You had 10 75 mgs pellets put in and this is half of what most men need. I had talked to Collage Pharmacy some yrs. after I tried pellets. At the time I did not know anything and when I learned about this I made a call the Dr. I used got the pellets from College they told me he gave me less then half of what I needed. And to add to this I was back in 30 days feeling dam bad, he did more labs I was low like you. So he gave me more but not as much same cost and this only lasted 3 weeks. So my cost for all of this was over $1,800.00 and when I seen him again he told me this is not possible I can't be low and would not even test me he told me I must be Depressed and offered me Prozac. WTF this is Bull. You need to see a better Dr. get on shots starting with 100 mgs a week and to add to this HCG doing 250 IU's the 2 days each before your next weekly Testosterone shot. Doing this should get your levels up your need your levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range for Total and Free T and you need to test your Estradiol levels and keep them down to about 20 pg/ml Tell me where you live maybe we have someone here that sees a good hormone Dr. in your area. Here is what you need being Secondary you might need to get your Adrenals checked for low Cortisol levels and your Thyroid. Also your Ferritin men that are secondary have a lot of hormones that are low or low normal if you have some at the bottom of the range you need to treat them because your Pituitary does not work right. You even need to check your Growth Hormone levels. Here is a link to my other forum about this and it's closed I helped this guy that runs it and he can't run it any more but it's full of good info. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewforum.php?f=12 & sid=19b219210f6fff5462289e1\ 7599940f8 Go to Dr. site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success in this are labs you needed and read his HCG update he puts this out there free for you and your Dr. www.allthingsmale.com If you have a family Dr. that is willing he will work with your Family Dr. over the phone to test and treat you he is one of the best hormone Dr.'s out there. Also read this about TRT and Estradiol. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html I have to treat the following because I am Hypopituitary or Secondary. Testosterone by shots I do 80 mgs every 3 days. Novarel HCG I do 250 IU's the 2 days each in between my Testosterone shots. Arimidex .25 mgs every 2 to 3 days to keep my Estradiol levels down. Armour for Thyroid. Iron pills because my Ferritin levels are low. Florinef because my Aldosterone levels are low and my body dumps my sodium. Humatrope Growth Hormone because these low levels damaged my Heart and I had Heart Bypass sugary a year ago last Nov. Cortef because my Cortisol levels are to low. Do read this. http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/ You need to be sure all the hormones that are controlled by your Pituitary are good if not treat them you can read my story at this link and the update about my Heart sugary. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=5 & t=9239 Co-Moderator Phil > From: healthplan2010 <no_reply > > Subject: 40 yr old - Hypogonadism - Starting to Feel Hopeless... > > Date: Wednesday, January 6, 2010, 11:22 PM > I started to post this as a response > in another thread but decided it's time to start my own. > > I was diagnosed with Secondary Hypogonadism in 1996. Guest guest
first dont loose hope my dear friend. We all have experienced this one way or another. Second, I am sorry that you lost your money on pellets that were useless. A doctor tried that shit with me and told him to fuck off. Now, there is hope and some good news. First for being 40 years old your test should be 500 to 1100. If a doctor tells you otherwise, he is a moron. Because they are audited and have to go by the books. They are now allowed to tell patients the truth. I have secondary as well and it sucks. It mainly affected my Cognitive functions. Then Libido was gone too. I went through respected doctors (about 4 of them) then decided to take matters into my own hands. Now, here is what I can tell you. Androgel, pellets, pills, patches. All junk for the most part. Androgel is still ok, but it wont get the job done the way it supposed to. Right now, I am on an injection called Nebido (Testosterone Undeconante). I had to buy this bad boy from another country because the FDA are useless and really dont give a shit about the american people (In time you will see that I am right if you disagree). So do some research on this drug on google.. read up on it. then feel free to email me with any questions. I started this injection as of jan 2nd of this year. It is a long acting ester and is safer then other test injections out there. It is NOT for body building it is for people like us. But the motovation and energy issues you are having right now. Try this.. Go to GNC. Buy Tribex (any kind) and Novadex XT. Novadex will suppress your libido ( no biggie for now) and Tribex will increase ur LH and fH signals. Take 2 tribex pills in the morning with 1 Novadex XT pill. Then take 1 Novadex XT in mid afternoon. If you cant sleep go to walgreens and get a natural sleep aid. Do this until you feel better again. Forget the Libido for now. And before you start all of this get your prostate checked. What helps me to get into a good mood is Music, comdedy, and keeping busy with something i enjoy like hobby. If you are worried about your libido then discontinue Novadex XT after one weeks use. Then you will see a slight improvement since you are hypogondal. > > I started to post this as a response in another thread but decided it's time to start my own. > > I was diagnosed with Secondary Hypogonadism in 1996. Guest guest
What most of us do not realize is that. If the pharam world gave out cures they will go OUT OF BUSINESS!. They keep people sick to stay in busniess. And doctors are their sales representitives. Now im not saying all doctors I like this but majority are. Plus a doctor will not know how you exactly feel. Only you do. I saw a well respected Urologist once and two harvard grad doctors.. I realized they are a bunch of fruits and fired them. Took matters into my own hands and been better without them ever since. Now I see an endo doctor. She is kinda flakey as well, but I use her to get blood work done. She has no clue that i self medicate and so far im good. My goal is to get my levels at a consistant level of 1100. and I am 29. Prostate health is not issue for me at this moment but just an fyi. Testosterone does NOT increase issues with the prostate. Already proven. > > > From: healthplan2010 <no_reply > > > Subject: 40 yr old - Hypogonadism - Starting to Feel Hopeless... > > > > Date: Wednesday, January 6, 2010, 11:22 PM > > I started to post this as a response > > in another thread but decided it's time to start my own. > > > > I was diagnosed with Secondary Hypogonadism in 1996. Guest guest
I'm 63 and had a recent elevated PSA w Estradiol of 58. My uro told me I need a prostate biopsy. He also told me high estradiol levels are a good thing and T was like putting gasoline on a fire. Hey, if uro's didn't scare the hell out us about prostate cancer and order biopsies they would lose tons of money. PSA is currently the gold standard but it has not saved lives. It has caused thousands of men great anxiety and caused countless biopsies that were/are not necessary. Guest guest
It's to bad you have to self med. but this happens a lot Dr.'s like you said only know what the drug reps tell them. I don't does by lab levels I go by how I feel. And yes Testosterone will not mess up your prostate but it will make your Estrdiol levels go up and this will give one BPH. But there are Dr.'s out there that are good at this you just need to look for them. I don't recommend men self med there is a lot to this and they can end up doing more damage to them self's. Guest guest
Uro's are good for Prostate problems but still in the dark about Testosterone and Estradiol is not good for the Prostate in high levels. They now know it is the cause of prostate cancer for some kinds of it.
