Guest guest
I hope that MRI on your Brain was for your Pituitary Gland it sure looks to me like it's not sending enough LH and FSH to your Testis to tell them to make more Testosterone. As for the level going up or down that many points it happens to all of use levels never are the same from labs to labs. If you did your first test later in the day it will be lower levels are there highest first thing in the morning not on TRT. Your levels are doing in your life taking time off it. You have the levels of a man over 100 yrs. of age. I can't under stand why your Dr. did not tell you this and stress how bad it is for your body and mind to have levels this low. Next time you post labs put in the units and ranges you say your Thyroid is normal we hear this all the time. Post your Thyroid labs most Dr.'s are not up on Thyroid and if your in the range they tell you your fine and your not. Your Cortisol if it was a fasting morning test is low you need to do a 4x's in a day Saliva test to see how your rhythm looks you need to be high in the morning going down by bed time. Men going as long as you have with low T can stress out your Adrenals and they can't put out enough Cortisol this will make you feel dam tired or suffer some bad fatigue. But I must tell you you need to know why your low before treating this. There are a lot of things that can cause this and if you don't know what it is your not going to feel better. We have on guy here Phil was sick for yrs. we kept telling him find out why your low see a better Dr. He seen Dr. Overbeck and Hardasnails they found he was allergic to Milk this was his problem and his Testosterone levels were low now they are back up. A lot of men find there Chol. goes down on TRT one of the best male hormone Dr.'s there is posts here from time to time he is here today Dr. go to his site web site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and His HCG Update he puts this out there free for you and your Dr. www.allthingsmale.com In this are labs you needed done and why. In this link are all the kinds of Testosterone meds out there to date but the site is for women becoming men still it is full of dam good info. http://www.ftmguide.org/ttypes.html#cypionate In this link it tells you about this problem and you need to learn about this so when you see your Dr. you will know he is up on this and your getting good treatment. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html This is a good read too. http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553 If you find out your Secondary meaning your Pituitary dose not work right you can end up with a lot of your body's hormones below range or even low in range and they need to be treated. I have this problems it took me 23 yrs to figure it out and going through life like this letting Dr.'s tell me my hormones are fine I am in range it did my heart in. http://www.griffinmedical.com/Low_Testosterone_equals_low_quality_life.htm http://men.webmd.com/news/20070605/low-testosterone-may-up-male-mortality?ecd=wn\ l_men_072407 Co-Moderator Phil > From: surfingmedicman22 <no_reply > > Subject: Am I a good candidate for TRT?? Guest guest
Thanks for the reply. Whether I'm primary or secondary is the treatment the same? If my MRI came back clean and there was no tumor found then how do I proceed. My Dr who specializes in hormone therapy said that most of the time they don't know why men's hormone levels drop. I don't want to live with these low levels so I want to start treatment but what other tests should I have done before I start TRT. Thanks > > > From: surfingmedicman22 <no_reply > > > Subject: Am I a good candidate for TRT?? Here are my latest numbers. > > > > Date: Tuesday, July 13, 2010, 6:44 PM > > I'm 36 yrs old. Guest guest
There are tests you can do to tell Clomd or HCG Stim. testing if your Testosteone levels shoot why up on them it means your Testis work. Read this link what state do you live in. Can you see if your Dr. will work with Dr. over the phone he dose this. www.allthingsmale.com Read this link from the AACE Guildelines. http://www.aace.com/pub/pdf/guidelines/hypogonadism.pdf ==================================================== Clomiphene Stimulation Test.—In the clomiphene stimulation test, 100 mg of clomiphene citrate is given for 5 to 7 days as an evocative test of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis. Clomiphene acts by interrupting the negative feedback loop and thereby stimulating release of gonadotropin from the pituitary. A doubling of LH and a 20 to 50% increase in FSH are normal results indicative of an intact hypothalamic-pituitary response (13). hCG Stimulation Test.—Various protocols are used for hCG stimulation testing. In general for postpubertal male patients, a single dose of hCG (5,000 IU intramuscularly) is administered, and pretherapy and 72-hour posttherapy testosterone measurements are done (some protocols use 1,000 to 4,000 IU of hCG or multiday dosing) (14). Guest guest
Thanks for the link. I will read it for some more understanding. So, here is my question. I knnow I have low T and there are some good treatment options out there. Why does it matter if I'm primary or secondary. Is the treatment different? It seems that most Dr's will just treat the low T regardless of why we're low. I don't want to just keep doing testing after testing if in the end my treatment will be the same. Am I way off on this? This is all new to me. Thanks > > > > > > > From: surfingmedicman22 <no_reply > > > > > Subject: Am I a good candidate for > > TRT?? Guest guest
Well in my case I was told I am Primary for 23 yrs my labs were to my new Dr. screaming I am Hypopituitary and needed most of my hormones Thyroid, Cotrisol, Growth Hormone, Aldosterone and Renin all needed to be treated. But every dam Dr. I seen missed this and told me your in the normal range your fine. When you have more then one hormone very low in the range this means something is wrong. If the first Dr. would have got this right I would not have surfed for 23 yrs just on TRT. My Total T was 120 with my LH levels very low and the Dr. that did this first test told me I was Primary and he was wrong. There after every Dr. I seen told me my other hormones were fine I am in the normal range. Today I know if your not in the normal range your dam near dead. Is the treatment the same no when I was just on TRT I felt better but not 100% and for yrs. I was off work on sick leave more then I was at work. Today I have all my hormones treated and feel fine. I have been sick with this for over 28 yrs it all happened after a auto accident where I hit my head into the roof of the car no seat belt law back then. I was about 8 months that I pushed my self to go to work until I could not get out of bed anymore. If your Seconday you need a Dr. that is up on this or your going to go down that same painfull road I went down. Guest guest
Your Test Total levels are very low on Testim I feel if your on a starting dose 5 grams. You can end up with lower levels then you started with. But your LH and FSH were low before starting. So I don't feel if you went up to 10 grams it would help. When you start on a starting dose your brain sees this and slows down sending the LH and FSH to your testis and they stop making what T they were doing before the Testim. So you end up with levels that are just from the Testim. Your SHBG is on the low end so you need Estradiol levels lower then most men need you need to be between 15 to 20 pg/ml. All the Testim did was drive this up. Your cortisol was low on your first set of labs you need to now do a 4x's in a day Saliva test to see what your rhythm looks like it needs to be higher in the morning going down lower by bed time. http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/ You need better labs for Thyroid to tell if it's bad. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/recommended-labwork/ I feel you need to try shots starting with a big 200 mgs starter shot to jump start you then doing a 100 mgs shot every week. Get your Dr. to show you how to do them your self. I don't know if your Dr. will give you Arimidex to bring down your Estradiol levels if he will go on .25 mgs every other day to bring this down. If not get some Indolplex/DIM it's sold OTC don't buy any lower cost DIM there is a lot of junk out there that will not work. Take one Table at dinner time to get this down. http://www.iherb.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Pure-Rip-with-DIM-60-Tablets/12814?at=0 http://www.dimfaq.com/index.htm http://qualitycounts.com/fpdim.html You need to get your Total T levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range and keep your Estradiol down to about 15 to 20 pg/ml. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html Co-Moderator Phil > From: surfingmedicman22 <no_reply > > Subject: Re: Am I a good candidate for TRT?? Guest guest
Thanks for the info. Before going on the shots should I wait and do some other testing first for my possible thyroid issue. Also, I did do a brain MRI about 2 or 3 years ago for some anxiety issues I was having before I even knew I had low T. Would a Pit. Tumor have shown up at this time or do I need a more recent one. Also you mentioned my Cortisol was on the low end. Should I do testing on this as well before starting on a new TRT protocol and what is the significance if it is shown to be low. Thank you for your input. > > > > > > I'm 36 yrs old. I had my numbers checked for the first > > time last summer and have been sitting on the info for quite > > some time. Guest guest
I never saw this post when it was originally made but in response to your question mine went from 209 in December 2009 to 323 on 8/30/10 with no TRT at all. My estradiol is high though, as in 52 and may have been even higher before, resulting in the TotalT increase. Here are my other tests with the dates. 05/2010 – FSH/LH/Prolactin FSH – 5.8 / Range 1.6 – 8.0 mIU/mL LH – 3.7 / Range 1.5 – 9.3 mIU/mL Prolactin – 8.0 / Range 2.0 – 18.0 ng/mL I am still waiting in limbo per se. Guest guest
No don't hold off for more testing get on some shots bring your levels up this will help your thyroid and Cortisol levels the stress we feel with low Testosterone just makes things worse. And get that Estradiol level down. I feel you need an MRI on your Pituitary it's a special MRI. Yes do more testing on your Cortisol levels doing a 4x's in a day Saliva test. One is in the Adrenals link I gave you or the STTM's link I gave you. Co-Moderator Phil > From: surfingmedicman22 <no_reply > > Subject: Re: Am I a good candidate for TRT?? Guest guest
Okay thanks for the advice. Lucliky I have Dr appt with Urologist tomorrow. Just curious though if I do have addrenal or thyroid issues, does that interfere or change the protocol of TRT. It seems like it would be hard to tell if your dealing with thyroid issues or low T issues or both. I guess it just makes the whole process more complicated or should I say challenging. > > > > > > > > > > I'm 36 yrs old. Guest guest
Sorry I missed this post previously. I went from 209 in December 2009 to 323 on 8/30/10 with no TRT. My estradiol is 52, and may have been higher previously resulting in the 100+ gain in my Total T, but who really knows as it was not tested in December. Here are my other relevant tests. 05/2010 – FSH/LH/Prolactin FSH – 5.8 / Range 1.6 – 8.0 mIU/mL LH – 3.7 / Range 1.5 – 9.3 mIU/mL Prolactin – 8.0 / Range 2.0 – 18.0 ng/mL Hope this doesn't show up as a double post,.....tried to post it about 30 minutes ago, but it never showed up. I am still in limbo BTW.

Guest guest
Thats how Hertoghe Thinks - He treats ALL hormones and calls them Players in an orchestra. If One player is missing, the orchestra is Off. I understand Hertoghes way of thinking. I just hope it will heal me! He is very sure I will heal. He is a confident doctor. Guest guest
You should if your stressed out from bad news or mad at someone even if you over do something and get shakey and weak even can get sick to your stomach. It's calles Stress dosing. You take 5 mgs extra every 30 min.'s untill you feel better. Its all in this FAQ's I helped with. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/faq/ And read this link from Dr. McK. Jeffries book " Safe Uses of Cortisol " he is the Dr. that found all this with HC. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/safe-uses/ Co-Moderator Phil > > > > > From: surfingmedicman22 <no_reply > > > > Subject: Re: Am I a good candidate > for > > TRT?? Guest guest
I'm meeting with Dr later today and will discuss T injections, HCG, and arimidex. I'm confused about the HCG. What would be a minimum dosing amount to just keep the testis from shrinking and staying active. Fertlity is not an issue since I'm done having kids. I just don't want my nuts to shrink. Can I take HCG once a week with T injections or do I have to inject more frequently? Thanks > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm 36 yrs old. Guest guest
Dr. has his men do 250 IU's the 2 days each before there next T shot. Go to www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG Update. This will keep you more leveled before you next T shot keep your testis working and make your libido better. Here is a cut and paste of what he posted to me to help me get my Dr. to let me try HCG. ================================================== He probably feels that since you suffer primary hypogonadism (I am guessing) there is no use in adding HCG to your protocol. There are several reasons why this is not so. First, you have not lost all Leydig cells, so any HCG you take will stimulate those who still function to produce endogenous testosterone. This will support testicular size. We should not ignore this aesthetic consideration. Next, if he reads my work, he will learn that HPTA-suppressed (as all TRT patients are to some extent) also suffer decreased pregenenolone levels, which is the first step after CHOL in all three hormonal pathways which begin with CHOL. HCG increases pregnenolone production, and therefore restores a more natural balance of our hormones. Next, nearly all TRT patients who add in HCG to their regimens report an increased sense of well-being and also libido. These are genuine quality of life issues. Finally, I just instinctively do not want all those LH receptors (including those we have yet to discover and appreciate) unstimulated. Guest guest
Yes when we add Testosterone to the body the brain sees this and slows down sending the LH and FSH message that tells your Testis to make Testosterone. So your testis and all the LH and FSH cells in your body and brain stop working. HCG acts like the LH message and keeps them cells working. Guest guest
Talked to my Dr last Friday and we agreed on weekly injections. He gave me a 200mg Boost of Test Cyp and said I can self inject 100mg once a week in divided doses if I want. He also gave me 0.5 Arimidex EOD. How do I know other than a follow up blood test what a good dose of Arimidex should be. If it's too much will I have any symptoms if my E2 gets too low. Also, the injection they gave me was in the ass which is still sore. Any videos or links out there that can show me how to inject with a small needle somewhere other than in the muscle. Thanks > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm 36 yrs old. I had my numbers checked for > > > the first > > > > > time last summer and have been sitting on the > > > info for quite > > > > > some time. Guest guest
Your lucky you have a Dr. that will do this and give you a kick start shot. I do my shots every 3 days into my Thigh using a small 27g 1ml. x 1/2 " lg. needle the oil comes out slow so all you need to do is put .20 mls of air in your needle put this into the vial of Test C then pull the plunger all the way down and hold it until you get about .3 mls then push the extra back into the vial. Follow what they say in this link to shoot into your thigh. I have no pain doing this and .2 mls of 200mgs/ml of Test C is 40 mgs this comes out to 100 mgs a week. Doing the shots every 3 days you keep leveled and it holds down your Estraidol levels and keeps your blood from getting to thick. I also add in 250 IU's of HCG I do this the day before my Test C shot. This keeps all your LH cells in your body, testis and brain working. Taking T of any kind shuts down your brain from sending the LH message to your testis and they stop working and get small. This link shows you how to do shots read the info page too. http://spotinjections.com/index3.htm Co-Moderator Phil > From: surfingmedicman22 <no_reply > > Subject: Re: Am I a good candidate for TRT?? Guest guest
Thanks for the info. I've read you can do injections Sub-Cutaneously. Doest this mean we can inject avoiding any muscle. The link you showed me was very helpfull but I think it showed injecting into the muscle. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I'm 36 yrs old.
