Guest guest Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 I just use a pill cutter to cut the pills into 1/4's I cut the pill in half with the cutter then us a single edge razor blaid to cut the half into a 1/4. I don't crush the pills or put them in caps. I don't know how long your test will take to come back. The test your Dr. H does looks like the best labs your getting. Take 1/4 of the Fludrocortison in the morning with water and Sea Salt go up 1/4 every 5 to 7 days. Take the 1/4 of Arimidex Generic at dinnner time every 2 days. Guest guest Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 Were you the one that had a bad reaction to Florinef before with the head pain or something? Starting with too much Florinef can cause that. I started with 1/4 of a 100 mcg tablet and couldn't imagine how bad it must be for these ones that start on one full tablet as two days in I got terrible low potassium cramps and headaches (but then I also went ahead and raised to 50 mcg). These are some general guidelines on taking Florinef: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/aldosterone/ Some will need potassium due to low levels and this issue is bound to get worse with Florinef. Not all low adrenal people have high potassium, especially not once they get cortisol into their bodies. Your serum potassium level dropping into the lower portion of the lab range (or below!) is a sign of low potassium. Basically, cellular levels of potassium can be low despite serum levels appearing in the range, so WHERE in the range your level is says a lot. Too much potassium can be very harmful, but suboptimal levels can really wreck how you feel, so make sure you're checking it. -Nigel > > And what about the Fludrocortison? Guest guest Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 Good point Nigel, My heart Dr. told me blood labs don't show what is going on in the Cells and as long as your levels for potassium are not to high on blood labs it's good to take some. I take a water pill every other day and I take script brand potassium with my water pill. I read most people with low potassium end up low on aldosterone. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=12 & t=15454 ==================================================== Actually, potassium is the principle base regulator of aldosterone secretion. When potassium falls, so does the enzyme renin (produced in the kidneys) and thus aldosterone also goes down. When potassium rises, so does renin and aldosterone. Renin will also fall when sodium and chloride levels are up and rise when they are down. Renin also increases in response to decreased renal blood pressure. Guest guest Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 It is real Arimidex, but the pharmacy asked if I wanted them to crush it and put it into caps. I said YES, cause it's a pain in the ass to split such small tiny pills as I hear Arimidex are! Taking fludro increased salt update. My serum sodium is already fine at 140 (range: 137 - 145 mmol/l) - Won't it be bad to take MORE salt when one is starting fludrocortison? > From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> > Subject: Arimidex stuck in customs > > Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 12:37 PM > Well, my Arimidex and Fludrocortison > (Generic " Florinef " ) is now stuck in customs. Guest guest Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 So why don't we just take POTASSIUM instead of Fludrocortison/Florinef to get Aldosterone up? How oftes do I need to test Aldosterone in serum and urine while ON Fludro/Florinef? Do you ADD to the Aldosteorne taking it or replace like with Thyroid? > From: nachohypo <nachonigel@...> > Subject: Re: Arimidex stuck in customs > > Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 1:23 PM > Were you the one that had a bad > reaction to Florinef before with the head pain or something? > Starting with too much Florinef can cause that. Guest guest Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 You can read online that potassium tends to raise aldosterone levels and how salt intake will lower aldosterone, but this is for healthy people and doesn't apply well to those with adrenal fatigue. Just a couple bananas caused me to go into a stupor and have heart arrhythmia before I was on Florinef. If you have weak adrenals and low aldosterone then taking lots of potassium without Florinef could make you sick. I'm not aware of any need to test aldosterone levels on Florinef. But sodium/potassium levels are important to see the effects of whatever you're taking. Florinef isn't actually aldosterone and so it won't even show up on aldosterone tests. Anything that increases sodium retention causes a natural decrease in your own adrenals' production of aldosterone. Of course you body may downthrottle too much in response. This actually happened to me simply from HC's sodium-retaining effect and so my sodium issues were unmasked from taking HC. -Nigel > > So why don't we just take POTASSIUM instead of Fludrocortison/Florinef to get Aldosterone up? > > How oftes do I need to test Aldosterone in serum and urine while ON Fludro/Florinef? > > Do you ADD to the Aldosteorne taking it or replace like with Thyroid? Guest guest Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Haha, this is not good. Dropper? Liquid? I had Arimidex crushed down to powder, which is now inside capsules. 0.25 mg Arimidex a capsule. It's the perfect dose. What's the problem? My main problem now is... I don't have high E2 and I feel I can't trust Hertoghes samples.. Unless my body is changing E2 around A LOT.... Guest guest Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Hertoghe told me to take 0.25 a day, that's 1/4 a tablet, in a capsule daily. But with my very fresh E2 result which is midrange, NOT more than twice the top range as my result from December, I don't get what's going on. I just called ROMAN PAIN LAB in Brussels. They're a very respected lab. They said " you don't need to treat the blood before shipping it " - And they do this with thousands of patients all over the world. Ship blood. Blood is not sentrifuged first. They said the results are correct. I don't get ANYTHING now. Confused and scared of what's going on in my body when I can't trust blood sample results I am being treated by. Guest guest Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Like i said it could be a lab error despite what they say it does happen. Some people need .1 mgs EOD of adex some need 1 mg a day. Dosage varies and .25 mcgs may be too much for some it depends on how thye metabolize the drug. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Gibcast <gibcast@> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Subject: Arimidex stuck in customs > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 12:37 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Well, my Arimidex and Fludrocortison > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > (Generic " Florinef " ) is now stuck in customs. Guest guest Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Yeah, lab errors do happen. Shouldn't all people run at least TWO blood tests before adding potentially dangerous drugs to their regime? Also, shouldn't one analyze everything in TWO different labs? Just to be SURE one is not starting a treatment wrongfully? Maybe I never needed TRT. Maybe that low Total T result I got in March 2010 was a lab error? :-( From: hardasnails1973 <hardasnails1973@...> Subject: Re: Arimidex stuck in customs Date: Thursday, January 13, 2011, 2:58 PM  Like i said it could be a lab error despite what they say it does happen. Some people need .1 mgs EOD of adex some need 1 mg a day. Dosage varies and .25 mcgs may be too much for some it depends on how thye metabolize the drug. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Gibcast <gibcast@> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Subject: Arimidex stuck in customs > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 12:37 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Well, my Arimidex and Fludrocortison > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > (Generic " Florinef " ) is now stuck in customs. Guest guest Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Well on my first appointment, Hertoghe went " hmmm " about my IGF-1 which was almost twice the top range. That result was also from " shipped blood " . He told me to make another test. And I did. Locally, where I love. That new test came back normal, at the top of the range. He did not put me on Growth Hormone immediately based on those results, at the time. This was March 2010. But now I am wondering.. How many of my shipped samples have been wrongful? I am questioning the whole treatment now, because of this. Is there any reason why my E2 would be so high then 1 month later, low? Could it be the fact that I put on my gel in the EVENING instead of in the MORNING the last 3 days before my blood draw that made me E2 so high? On the next E2 test, I only put on the gel in the EVENING instead of the MORNING 1 day before the test. Hertoghe wants men to apply the gel, and take DHEA in the evening some days before blood draw to get more accurate results. Guest guest Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 BTW just got a reply from Hertoghe himself: He tells me to do a THIRD blood test to see if the first of second E2 result is false. I will apply the T-gel and take DHEA in the evening around 9 pm, before going to bed, for three days, before drawing blood, so it will be 12 hrs between application/dhea-ingestion, to the blood is drawn. I will do a full hormon planel. CAUSE I got Vitamin A today from the local lab and it was higher there than it was on the Hertoghe bloodsample result. I am starting to doubt if shipping blood is safe for accurate results!!!!!!! THIS leaving my whole treatment in danger and perhaps my very life too? > From: Dave <dcbaden@...> > Subject: Re: Arimidex stuck in customs > > Date: Wednesday, January 12, 2011, 5:05 PM > Do they all go through customs? > > USPS tracking shows " inbound into customs " on mine. > If that's the case, I have a problem. > > > > > > Well, my Arimidex and Fludrocortison (Generic > " Florinef " ) is now stuck in customs.
