Guest guest
Bill first question is what are you eating for dinner? It depends on what eating that is getting a huge insulin spike and TRT will make you more insulin sensitive so you may be more aware of the changes as your body adjusts. So start with the basis what is possible causing it and then go from their. I do not think its adrenal issues because people with adrenal issues crash in the afternoon which is most likely due to crappy lunch. So examin eating habits and if you just got home from the gym you may need to make modications to your dinner to avoid the crash afterwards. > > Hey all, > > I am on TRT now for a few months (T-Cyp injections). Some things have certainly improved. However, one thing that hasn't is that I get real fatigued after eating dinner. Guest guest
Hi Bill, Yep AF will make you feel like this what happens I feel is your sugar is low when you eat your dinner and your Cortisol levels may be low at this time. Your sugar will spike up after eating with the low cortisol and you feel like this. I can be dangerous if you get shaky and feel sick to your stomach. When you go on Treatment say taking Cortef HC you need to watch this close. If you feel like this you need to take extra we call it stress dosing of HC. http://www.cushings-help.com/911.htm I ended up in the ER two time in the same yr. until my Dr. go me on the right dose of Cortef HC I take 30 mgs a day starting with 10 mgs at 5am, 5mgs at 9am, 10 mgs at 1pm and 5mgs at dinner about 6 pm. I carry a card on me saying I have Adrenal Insufficiency doing this saved my life. You need a 4x's in a day Saliva test to see how your Cortisol rhythm looks. There is a lot of good info in this link. http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/ Co-Moderator Phil > From: bill_totten <bill_totten@...> > Subject: major fatigue after eating and relatively minor work > > Date: Monday, June 7, 2010, 7:32 PM > Hey all, > > I am on TRT now for a few months (T-Cyp injections). > Some things have certainly improved. Guest guest
Phil, Hmmm.. thanks for all this info. Night before last, after dinner when I felt this way, I checked my blood sugar and it was 124 (about 10-15 minutes after eating some sliced ham with rice and green beans). That number sounds fine to me - what do you think? Should I check my BS before I eat as well? Bill ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Tue, June 8, 2010 10:35:54 AM Subject: Re: major fatigue after eating and relatively minor work  Hi Bill, Yep AF will make you feel like this what happens I feel is your sugar is low when you eat your dinner and your Cortisol levels may be low at this time. Guest guest
Bill,.....your blood glucose level should be 140 or below within 2 hours after eating a meal. It's almost worthless to take your reading right after you ate, as too many things including what you took in come into play.
Guest guest
Bill, Another thing you may want to try is an elimination diet to see if you are allergic or sensitive to any types of food. Basically, you eat nothing but meat, vegetables and fruit for every meal for a week. Once the week is over, you then begin reintroducing food types back into your diet, i.e. gluten, dairy, etc.. and see how they effect you. There is a methodical way of doing it, and you can find a lot of books on this subject at your local bookstore. People with AF or thyroid conditions are often allergic or sensitive to some types of food because of the digestion issues. Guest guest
It is a good number but should be higher after eating. This would be a great number before you eat. I get low numbers before I eat in the morning 85. Guest guest
Phil,.....why do you think 85 is low in the AM after an overnight 'fast' per se? To me that is totally normal. Guest guest
I use to take care of my wife's mother she need pills for high sugar and they were to strong she would wake up with levels between 65 to 80 and pass out. Guest guest
I think 70 for a fasting level is the cut-off on the low side according to the 'ever changing' scales. Maybe a diabetic is more sensitive to lower levels? Used to be 110 for the high side,.....now it is 99, or 100 for a fast depending upon who draws the blood. Guest guest
My blood sugar is a pretty constant 80, fasting or 2 hrs after a large meal.I eat an extremely low carb diet.Weakness and fatigue are never an issue.A bonus id I never really experience hunger pangs (that weak feeling in your belly).Able to keep very lean. Before I began eating like this 18 mths ago I was a wreck and obese. Not for everyone but i love it. Guest guest
Hi Bill, Sorry to jump in here but this sounds very familiar to me, are there any other symptoms that go along with this, such as " IBS " , inner body trembling/shaking, along with the fatigue after (or attempting) yard work, brain fog, internal agitation? sorry again it's just a subject close to my heart. Guest guest
Tim, I used to have IBS, but that was found to be Celiac Sprue - it's an allergy to wheat gluten. I do get the fatigue after yard work, I do have some brain fog, and I'm not sure what " internal agitation " is. The internal shaking is a felling that I do get once in a while. As for " jumping in " , please do so, that's why i posted this to see who else has something like this. What light can you shed on this? And " thanks " . Guest guest
Hi Bill, For probably 15 years I have suffered a " mystery " illness, had almost every test you could think of over the years, have been on TRT (low normal T with raised LH & FSH) with no positive effect, Have been on Hydrocortisone ( very low levels throughout the day via saliva test) again no positive effect, was found to have low B12 and folate levels, I am on jabs and supplements for that, there have been some positive effects from B12 & folate mainly involving the nervous system, ie: I used to have very bad raynauds but I don't any more, this is nice but not what I was trying to fix:) so anyway fast forward to the year before last, after doctors telling me, there was nothing wrong with me and to " get my finger out " others telling me I was depressed and others that I had chronic fatigue syndrome, I felt like crap everyday of my life, to dam right I was depressed ! So next up I got a infection, doc's said it was Impetigo, blood's said it was staphylococcus aureus I was on antibiotics for 14 months was getting sicker and sicker but still had the infection, eventually I got to see a dermatologist( after an 8 month wait) and he said it looked like Eczema to him and gave me some cream. This for me was the turning point, I started to research Eczema and at every turn " Dairy " intolerance/allergy popped up, Nah! I thought no bloody way could something as innocent as dairy make me feel this bad, well I kid you not, within 3 days of giving up dairy my IBS symptoms had cleared( I was taking Imodium daily just so I could take the dog for a walk) within a week the Eczema was a distant memory (turned out to be Atopic Eczema ) and within 2 weeks I was starting to feel better in myself, more energy, not needing to sleep in the day the internal tremor's stopped, back ache stopped, calve's aching when walking stopped, the list is endless to be honest. Bill, I feel that as you have celiac, it's probably damaged you gut and left you wide open for a food allergy of some sort, maybe dairy maybe not, there's been good advise so far re: elimination diet, all good, but personally I would kill the Dairy in all forms (it's a little difficult, even some crisps have lactose in the flavouring) also the symptoms from Lactose are with you pretty quick, bloating and felling crap after eating, but the Casein Protein symptoms can take 24 hours to appear, so some of the symptoms you experience today, could be from what you ate yesterday if you follow, it all rolls into an endless cycle and is very hard to put your finger on the trigger food, so as you can see I could talk about this all day, and I hope some of my rambling's may help, I still have some questions for the board and will get around to that soon, cheer's for now, Tim. Guest guest
Hmmm, I don't get the spy ware thing at all, sorry about that, wouldn't have posted the link if I had, the site works fine from my end. Just to add something, when I was researching low T etc, one of the symptoms I thought was relevant, was a pot belly, Every doc I mentioned it to said more or less the same thing " we all get that when we get older " thing was I had never had a pot belly in my life and it was like a football, hard, not soft fat, I now know this to be part of the Dairy allergy (fermentation in the intestines) as it has gone now and I am working towards a six pack for my 50th birthday in November Another symptom that is now a memory was, pissing for England ! cheer's. Guest guest
Hi marc, it's an easy diet to do, unlike gluten, I did that for six week's and it was bloody murder, but I can say that there are many things that contain lactose and Casein, for instance from time to time I take some Iron pills along with some vit C if I'm feeling a bit off with a cold for instance, i started to feel a worse, and the first sign Iv'e slipped up and taken some dairy is anal itching that would drive you up the wall, I just could not figure it out, in the end the ferrous sulphate has lactose in the coating! And just to add, Humans are the only mammal on earth to continue to consume milk after weaning, but more bizarrely we are also the only mammal that consumes another's milk, I now treat dairy as poison, cheer's.
