Guest guest
About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with low T and the uro put me on test-cyp and also viagra. Well, because of lose of insurance and other factors I've been off of everything for a couple of years until recently, new job, new insurance and I'm ready to get back on track. Went back to the uro 2 weeks ago and re-newed scripts. He did not do any labs and when i got the t home realised that there was no dosing instruction. Got back on this group and have done 100ml a week. Now i am thinking of getting labs done through Lab Corp or some place like that and tracking things myself. What labs should i have done and does anyone have any reccomendations as to where to have them done? Also, I know it's probably too late to get a baseline, but, when should I have labs done in relation to my wednesday injections. Thanks to everyone who participate on this forum and to Phil for his knowledge. For what iys worth, I am 51, married with 4 daughters (3 are adopted) so you can see that I am surrounded by estrogen! Guest guest
Hi Malcolm and Welcome, I pray you meant to say your doing 100 mgs not 100 mls. Test C comes in a vial that is 200mgs/ml so 100 mls is a dam big shot. I wish you would have done labs first but you were on TRT before do you have the labs from then maybe you can get a copy of them and post them with the units and ranges. You would need to get labs through your Dr. it's best to work with him. You can buy labs from the web but if you now have a health care plain that pays for labs better to do it this way. Today on TRT men have found and Dr.'s up on TRT doing shots 2x's / week works better to keep you more leveled and this helps keep your blood thinner and keep Estradiol levels down. The labs you would need to get are listed at Dr. 's site www.allthingsmale.com go there and read TRT: A Recipe for Success in this are the labs needed to be done before starting TRT and for follow up after starting TRT. Today we also add in HCG read Dr. 's HCG Update doing this keeps your Testis working and all the LH and FSH cells in your body. Being on TRT your brain sees the T in your blood and stops sending the LH and FSH messages and your testis stop working and get small. I use Quest labs and have my Hormones checked every 8 weeks but I have big time problems and need to be checked this soon. Most men after first starting on TRT get labs in 8 to 12 weeks to see how they are doing. What your trying to do is to get your Total T up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range for a young man and you need to keep your Estradiol levels down to less then 30 best for most men at 20 pg/ml. I started doing my Test C shots every 3 days I read Dr. Shippen was doing this to his self now or 7 yrs ago. I use a small 27g 1ml. x 1/2 " needle and shoot into my thigh I have good levels and no pain. The oil comes out of the vial slow so I just pull the plunger all the way down and just hold it until I get my dose this takes about a min. or two. Dr. Shippen did the book " The Testosterone Syndrome " today the book is dated but there is a new book out you need to read " Testosterone: A Man's Guide by Vergel " cost at amazon.com is $20.00. This book has everything you need to know about low Testosterone and how to treat it. And here is a good link to read at Dr. 's forum Hormones 101, keep us in the loop as to how your doing. http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15290 As for ED problems we have found high levels of Estradiol do this to us not low T. You need to check this my Dr. gave me Cialis 20 mgs to take every 3 days when I got my Estradiol down and fixed my ED problems but the worry of it working when I went to have sex with my wife would kill it so taking the Cialis every 3 days fixed this problem. This is also a good link to read. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html Co-Moderator Phil > From: Malcolm <cabinetdude@...> > Subject: Back on T again. > > Date: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 5:56 AM > About 3 years ago I was diagnosed > with low T and the uro put me on test-cyp and also viagra. > Well, because of lose of insurance and other factors I've > been off of everything for a couple of years until recently, > new job, new insurance and I'm ready to get back on track. > Went back to the uro 2 weeks ago and re-newed scripts. Guest guest
Thanks for all the info and your prayers have been answered, I am doing 100mgs, sorry for the scare. I will call today and see if i can get the original labs. i appreciate all the info you put in your reply, looks like I'll have plenty to read next week while I'm off work. As for the injections, you would recommend 50mgs twice a week? is that the same as 1/4ml? Thanks, Malcolm > > > From: Malcolm <cabinetdude@...> > > Subject: Back on T again. > > > > Date: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 5:56 AM > > About 3 years ago I was diagnosed > > with low T and the uro put me on test-cyp and also viagra. > > Well, because of lose of insurance and other factors I've > > been off of everything for a couple of years until recently, > > new job, new insurance and I'm ready to get back on track. > > Went back to the uro 2 weeks ago and re-newed scripts. Guest guest
As a follow up, Testosterone, a mans guide was available for 9.99 for my Kindle so I've already downloaded it. I just love that Kindle! > > > > > From: Malcolm <cabinetdude@> > > > Subject: Back on T again. > > > > > > Date: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 5:56 AM > > > About 3 years ago I was diagnosed > > > with low T and the uro put me on test-cyp and also viagra. > > > Well, because of lose of insurance and other factors I've > > > been off of everything for a couple of years until recently, > > > new job, new insurance and I'm ready to get back on track. > > > Went back to the uro 2 weeks ago and re-newed scripts. Guest guest
No why do shots 2x's a week if you don't need to do them and as for HCG if you can't get your Dr. to give it to you can buy it over sea's later. Try doing your shots every week is you feel your falling back 2 to 3 days before your next one then yes try after talking to your Dr. 2x's a week. Men on shots once a week use HCG 250 IU's the 2 days each before there next Test C shot. Doing this get there testis making T the best they can to keep there levels up. If your vial says 200mgs/ml yes .25 or 1/4 ml ='s 50 mgs. Take your time and learn all you can about having low T so when feel something you have an Idea what is going on and your able to talk better to your Dr. abou it.
