Guest guest
Phil, I lowered my testosterone gel to 1 pump daily today after a doctor at Hertoghes clinic told on the phone that 2 pumps is making my blood too thick. Shr said take half the gel Even if my testosterone in a blood test is lower now than 1 month ago, for some reason. 1 pump 10% testosterone gel has 100 mg testosterone in it. I have a horrible headache and feel totally Off at the moment, for the fourth day. Sendt fra min iPhone
Guest guest
I just don't know what to tell you lowering T levels you crash if your one pump is = to 100 mgs or Test like in a shot this is not a small amount. Lowering T levels make us feel bad it's the levels going down. Most men here in the USA just give blood to keep there blood thinner. Guest guest
I don't feel your in need of all this how bad are you feeling your blood levels are not that high to be worried about. And like I said if you were dehydrated when you did them labs your levels are going to come back high meaning nothing. My Dr. dose not change things on one set of labs the mess up so much we redo them before we make changes. I am not a Dr. I can't tell you what to do about this but If I were you I would not be so worried about this. I mean how do you feel are you feeling that bad that you feel you need to go into the ER. Guest guest
In need for what? I found out later yesterday that the secretary had told the female doc (dunno who she is, she works at Hertoghe's clinic) on the phone that my Hematocrit was at 66. I told her 56, but ya know, the phone can't always transfer words properly. Anyway. So I kept taking 2 pumps from last night, and today. I will do this til Tuesday when I get to talk to another doc at the clinic. They're closed now, only the secretary is working there now. I did one lab at like 9 pm, after more than 2000 ml of water, and 1/2 tea spoon of sea salt water. Hematocrit was still high after all that liquid. Hematocrit was 55, and Hemoglobin was 17.80 that evening. The next morning, salt-fasting, the Hematocrit was higher at 56.40. Hemoglobin was higher at 18.0. The female doc at Hertoghes said it's definitely Testosterone gel doing this to me. My shrinking testicles are making me depressed. They were always so big and nice ( " lol " ) - Can you explain to me why I need testosterone gel when my total was always perfect at 98 to 99% ? And can you confirm that TOTAL means Free Testosterone multiplied with SHBG? It's only s-testosterone that was bottom range (3450: Range: 3000 - 10.000) before starting the gel. > > > From: <gibcast@...> > > Subject: Testosterone issues > > " " > < > > > Date: Wednesday, August 11, 2010, 9:13 AM > > Phil, I lowered my testosterone gel > > to 1 pump daily today after a doctor at Hertoghes > clinic > > told on the phone that 2 pumps is making my blood too > thick. > > Shr said take half the gel Even if my testosterone in > a > > blood test is lower now than 1 month ago, for some > reason. > > > > 1 pump 10% testosterone gel has 100 mg testosterone in > it. > > > > I have a horrible headache and feel totally Off at > the > > moment, for the fourth day. > > > > > > > > Sendt fra min iPhone > > > > > >Â Â Â Â Â > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > >
Guest guest
Here is what I found doing a search about this. ==================================================== III. POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS OF TESTOSTERONE Increased red blood cell (RBC) count Higher-than-normal numbers of RBCs may indicate congenital heart disease, cor pulmonale (failure of the right side of the heart caused by prolonged high blood pressure in the pulmonary artery and right ventricle), polycythemia, or kidney disease with high erythropoietin production. For more on polycythemia, see below. Increased hemoglobin (HGB) Higher-than-normal hemoglobin may indicate congenital heart disease, cor pulmonale (failure of the right side of the heart caused by prolonged high blood pressure in the pulmonary artery and right ventricle), polycythemia, or increased RBC formation associated with excess erythropoietin. For more on polycythemia, see below. Increased hematocrit (HCT) High HCT may indicate dehydration, erythrocytosis (excessive red blood cell production), or polycythemia. For more on polycythemia, see below. back to the top -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Polycythemia Testosterone usage has been shown to increase " erythropoiesis, " or red blood cell production. " Polycythemia " is an abnormally high level of red blood cells. An excess of red blood cells thickens the blood, impeding its passage through small blood vessels and causing a number of potential health problems. There are a few different types of polycythemia: " polycythemia vera, " " relative polycythemia, " and " secondary polycythemia. " It is important to understand the differences between the three types of this condition, because polycythemia as a result of testosterone usage would probably best be categorized under secondary polycythemia. Of course, if your doctor diagnoses you with polycythemia, it is still important to determine which type of polycythemia you have and proceed with the proper treatment-- one should not automatically assume that an initial elevated RBC or HCT reading is necessarily secondary polycythemia simply based on testosterone use alone. Family history and other factors (listed below) should be considered. Polycythemia vera (or " primary polycythemia " ) is a rare myeloproliferative disorder, meaning that the bone marrow cells (which produce red blood cells) proliferate uncontrollably. In polycythemia vera, the RBC count increases without being stimulated by the red blood cell stimulating hormone, erythropoietin (EPO). Risk factors include exposure to radiation, some cancer therapy drugs, and familial history of polycythemia vera. In the case of relative polycythemia, an individual has an excess of RBCs due to a loss of volume in the plasma (the liquid portion of the blood). This can be due to dehydration, use of diuretics, burns, stress, or high blood pressure. Secondary polycythemia is defined as an absolute increase in RBCs caused by an increase in the RBC stimulating hormone, erythropoietin (EPO). Potential causes include low blood oxygen caused by heart disease, prolonged carbon monoxide exposure caused by smoking, hereditary disorders producing an abnormal hemoglobin or an overproduction of EPO, or kidney disease. Complications that can arise from polycythemia include thrombosis (blood clots that can cause stroke or heart attack), hemorrhage, and heart failure. The objective of treatment is to reduce the thickness of the blood due to the increased red blood cell mass and to prevent hemorrhage and thrombosis. Phlebotomy is one method used to reduce the high blood viscosity (blood thickness). In phlebotomy, 1 pint of blood is removed weekly until the HCT is less than 45%, then phlebotomy is continued as necessary. For relative polycythemia and secondary polycythemia, treatment must also address any underlying risk factors, such as smoking. back to the top Co-Moderator Phil > > > > > > > From: <gibcast@...> > > > > Subject: Testosterone issues > > > > " " > > > < > > > > > Date: Wednesday, August 11, 2010, 9:13 AM > > > > Phil, I lowered my testosterone gel > > > > to 1 pump daily today after a doctor at > Hertoghes > > > clinic > > > > told on the phone that 2 pumps is making my blood > too > > > thick. > > > > Shr said take half the gel Even if my > testosterone in > > > a > > > > blood test is lower now than 1 month ago, for > some > > > reason. > > > > > > > > 1 pump 10% testosterone gel has 100 mg > testosterone in > > > it. > > > > > > > > I have a horrible headache and feel totally Off > at > > > the > > > > moment, for the fourth day. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sendt fra min iPhone > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I knew about that but do you Think I got this? From taking testo? I am doing another hematology tomrrow to see how its going. I have not had any sea salt today and guess what - No headaches! Do you Think perhaps that my aldosterone being ok lowers my bodys demand for salt? So too much can be bad for me? Guest guest
I have been taking 1 tea spoon sea salt daily with 500-1000 ml tap water, since June 2009. I changed to 1/2 tea spoon daily in March after seeing Hertoghe who told me to QUIT the sea salt alltogether. He obviously doesn't think salt can heal adrenals. Guest guest
Hertoghe is good at diagnosing, this is a known fact. But he possibly did one mistake, he put me on Fludrocortison (flornief) and it just didnt work. 8 days starting on a the Max dose of 0.10 mg really messed me up good with super high BP and crazy irregular heartbeats. I quit it after 8 days. Later, I tested my Aldosterone to mid-range when salt-fasting during collecting urine, and blood. So it looks like I might not need extra sea salt. But I do have dark areas below my eyes. So I dunno. No sea salt today and no headache. Peculiar. However, I feel STRESSED today, Even if my pulse is below 80 and temp is 98.6 F. Weird.
