Guest guest
Hi nwprtbud and Welcome, Yes your in the right place and your Dr. is a numbers and range nut. Any good Dr. would listen to you and how you feel. Then look at your labs your levels for T are very low in range but normal for a man 100 yrs. old. You need to find a better Dr. one that treats a lot of men for this problem the biggest problem we men have with low T is Dr.'s that are not up on this. Your libido is low because your Testosterone is low and your Estraidol might be to high or even to low. High or low kills your sex life and Cialis will not fix this. I need to tell you need more labs to find out why your so low. If you go on TRT it is for life and shuts down your brain from telling your testis to make Testosterone. Some men your age a little over weight end up with higher levels of Estradiol then there wife's. And the brain in men can't tell the diff. between Estradiol and Testosterone so when Estradiol is high the brain thinks it's Testosterone and slows down sending the LH and FSH message from the Pituitary in the brain to the Testis to make more Testosterone. So for some men just testing this and if it's to high above 30 pg/ml best at 20 getting this down your Testosterone levels will come back up some 200 to 300 points. http://www.medibolics.com/ArimidexBoostsTestosterone.htm http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 In this link you will learn all about this problem. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html For labs you need go to Dr. 's site he is the best male hormone Dr. there is. www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for Success in this is what he dose to test and treat this problem and he puts this out there free for you and your Dr.. When I tested my Estradiol I had bad ED and could not reach an orgasm getting it down first thing to come back was night time and morning wood after now having them for over 30 yrs. To tell about your thyroid you need the following labs and the Estradiol and Testosterone labs are in this. =================================================== Here is what I am have done at Quest Labs Estradiol sensitive Code #4021 Testosterone, Free, Bioavailable & Total LC/MS/MS Code # 14966X. Homocysteine (Caridioviasular) Code #31789X. Vit.D, 25-Hydroxy LC/MS/MS Code #17306X. TSH Free T4 Free T3 Total T3 Total T4 RT3 Total Iron Iron Binding Capacity Iron % Saturation Ferritin B-12 A quick home test is to do the following in the morning before getting out of bed. http://drbate.com/Ref/thyroid.html Co-Moderator Phil > From: nwprtbud <bhorn2@...> > Subject: I could use some help/advice > > Date: Wednesday, January 6, 2010, 1:08 PM > Hello there! Guest guest
Thanks for the information Phil! I will hit those websites when I get home tonight as they are blocked here at work. After reading most of the posts on this site I have come to realize that A LOT of doctors don't listen to their patients when it comes to the issue of low testosterone! I mean my doctor basically dismissed me by writing " normal no follow up appointment necessary " on my lab work results and mailed it to me! No phone call - nothing! I guess my next question is - How do I get these lab tests done without my doctor approving them? Doesn't he have to write some sort of authorization? Guest guest
We have ways to do labs with out a Dr. the guys that use them treat them selfs I don't support doing this. Find a new Dr. then we can go about doing labs. If you have to pay for them your self you better off going to the labs the guys use that don't use a Dr. let me know how our labs are payed for. Guest guest
Bob: I recommend http://www.privatemdlabs.com You can get a 15% discount with code: JAN10BSTA They use Labcorp, which probably has a location near you, and provide results via e-mail. You are right that doctor must order the tests and receive the results. They have a doctor that does this and passes along the resulte to you. Guest guest
Hey man, sorry to hear about Junior but here is what I can tell you from the information you have provided. Junior is lazy in the morning because your levels is 372 or lower. Depending on how much over weight you are, you just might need to change your diet. Stress, fatigue and many other things can kill a sex drive. Your doctor is like the 5 that I have seen before I found a good doctor. First. for your age you should be between 550 1100. Youa re at 372. Now even with 372 you can get erectons so you may have to resolve some stresses in your life. Your energy levels wont be corrected with energy drinks or caffine pills. So dont go that route. Also dont take any ED drugs. Junior wont be happy with you. Start with Natural before you get into pharmacutical: Here is my suggestion assuming you are healthy and normal and non hypogonadal. go to GNC and buy this product called Tribex (Anyone will do) or go online and buy it and buy Novadex XT. Tribex will signal your brain to get your balls (engines) working. Novadex XT will prevent ur new testosterone supply from becoming into estrogen (which also will decrease your libdo) And a MultiVitamin (mens) Week 1: (take multivitamin at 8am) Take take 1 Tribex pill and 1 Novadex XT pill in the morning and 2 tribex pills in the afternoon before 3pm. (What you are doing is increasing your brain signals to get the engines rolling again and then using Novadex XT to prevent ur new testosterone from converting into estrogen and boosting ur test levels). Use a sleeping aid as well and use a natural one. (walgreens has some). Week 2:(take multivitamin at 8am) Take 1 tribex pill in the morning and 1 tribex pill at 12pm. Discontinue Novadex XT because now you need some of ur new testosterone to convert into estrogen to get your libido going. Week 3:(take multivitamin at 8am) By now, your energy, mood and libido should have increased. Now you are ready to work out a little bit. The overweight part of you needs to go!! So, start by doing 14 minutes of Cardio a day. Take 1 pill of Tribex and 1 novadex xt in the morning and do 7 minutes of cardio (slow). Then take 1 tribex at 12pm, then do the other 7 minutes of cardio before 8pm. You may not need a sleeping aid but if you do take one. Week 4: Do the same thing as week 3 New month: Stop taking all the drugs from week 1 thru 4 and go back to normal life with more exersise and good diet. Stay consistant and wala you will have erections as hard as titainum and a libido like a pornstar. Also one more thing. Try to smell the cent of cinnimon in the mornings. This will help in ur erection without the use of drugs. Your welcome > > Hello there! I found this group by accident while I was researching what my Testosterone and Thyroid blood test results meant. Guest guest
Hey randy I found a Labcorp location right here near where I live! So my next quetion - which set of labs do I request from their list of tests? I looked in Male Specific tests and there are MANY to choose! > > > > > > I guess my next question is - How do I get these lab tests done without my doctor approving them? Guest guest
I recommend that you order your tests via www.lef.org They have discounted tests that will cost you a lot less when compared to something one's doctor might order. It's the identical test but if you don't have insurance say for a cholesterol test, the lab will charge you upwards of $150 just of that one test. For $30-40 one can order via www.lef.org and get the cholesterol test and have the full CBC, CMP, and uric acid thrown in as well. LEF has doctors that sign the lab work orders so there is no problem with getting what you want, unless you are in New York which has highly restrictive laws designed to maximize medical profits. Of course, the all depends on you NOT having health insurance that covers lab work. If you have health insurance, go with what your doctor orders. Guest guest
I recommend you compare prices with Private MD Labs. From the few comparisons I've made, Private MD Labs can be quite a bit cheaper than even the LEF's member prices. Your mileage may vary. > > I recommend that you order your tests via www.lef.org

At your age you should be above 600. Before they start talking giving you testosterone insist on an E2 test. E2 is a potent form of estrogen called estradiol. In men T is converted to E2. SOme men can control high E2 and get a 300 point boost in their testosterone levels. BTW 372 is low for an 80 year old man. Look in the files section of the online group and you will find a table of average levels by age. Also Research indicates a level of 500 is necessary for healthy erections. Your Doc needs an education. If he's unwilling to test E2 or explore your levels more, get a new one. You should know levels can change by 100s of points in hours. You should likely get a follow up test. And include E2. Also a prolactin test is called for when T levels are low. Guest guest
vadielunn Thanks for the info - but I have a question. Do you ever go back to taking the Tribex and Novadex XT? Is this a cycle on and cycle off plan that has to be repeated in a specific pattern? Bob > > > > Hello there! Guest guest
Since I am hypogondal yes. I dont know what my levels are at the moment but I can tell you is that that if I feel a feeling of well being then I know that my levels are good and high. If i feel like crap.. then I know my level of test is too low and estro too high. Now, taking things like Tribex on long term is fine. It is all natural. Taking Novadex XT long term is not good. You need estrogen as well. Since you are 46, your engines (Balls) are working at slow speed. My boss is like 50 something and the mans test levels are high. ED meds will NOT help you.. You can get a boner, but your sexual energy needs to be their as well. I think you should email me when you read this. Trance325@... > > > > > > Hello there!
