Guest guest
, I don't mind the up and down cycles if I am able to return to work while I am riding the roller coaster. Are you able to do things around the house or work outside of the house?
Guest guest
Dear Holly, I was wondering the same thing last night. I had been down for 7 days. I have been on treatment for 7 weeks. I was strong enough last night to go to the grocery store. I even walked and did not use the electric scooter. As the grocery clerk was helping me out with the groceries..she told me her sister in law had lyme and started seeing a big improvement after 2 months of abx. I know i don't know how long she had lyme. IF she had any co infections. How she is doing now. Etc. But, it was what I needed to here at the time. I needed hope. Guest guest
, Your question is hard to answer because it differs so much by individual. But I think you can look forward to some noticeable improvement in the not too distant future. Hanging on to that hope is really critical! Most people seem to respond to the abx, so you have to celebrate every improvement and take it as it comes. I've only been sick for seven months, and under treatment for four, but I've already learned not to try to put a timetable on my recovery. Patience is key! Best to you, and hopes for rapid healing! Guest guest
, Can't work, but can do things around the home at my own pace. You really can't hold a job down unless you own the place or have an understanding boss. You won't have the stamina. I haven't worked in the 3 yrs other than on our farm at my own pace. The symptoms and strength of the symtoms will come and go. Guest guest
Thank you all who answered. I will try to keep hope that I will be one of the lucky ones that will feel better soon. I know this was a difficult question to answer, as everyone is different. I wish you all the best in your recovery and hope that god will bless us all. Guest guest
Hi dantimerman and Welcome, I would have told you not to go on TRT our TT levels are good your Free T is low and this can be from high levels of Estraidol with this your SHBG goes up and binds up all your Testosterone so your 658 level is all bound up good but not free to work in your body. I still will tell you get your Estraidol levels checked if your high with your SHBG levels getting your Estraidol down will lower your SHBG and as this comes down your Free T will go way up. I just don't under stand why some Dr.'s do what they do. Now you might be stuck on TRT for life talk to your Dr. about testing this and stoping the gels with hope your levels will stay at 658 and if your Estradio is to high above 30 best at 20 pg/ml your TT levels can even go up some 200 to 300 more points. Here is what I am have done at Quest Labs Estradiol sensitive Code #4021 Testosterone, Free, Bioavailable & Total LC/MS/MS Code # 14966X. To read about all this read the links I am giving you and the copy of a file I made about starting on gels. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html In the following link it's about older men but I see this happen to younger men. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 http://www.medibolics.com/ArimidexBoostsTestosterone.htm Also get this book " Testosterone: A Man's Guide " http://tinyurl.com/355dxys Every thing I know and more is in this book. If you have ED and don't get night time and morning wood your Estraidol levels are to high and this kills your sex life. ================================================= Starting on Androgel or Testim. Yes this happens a lot you start on a low starting dose 5 grams when your brain sees the testosterone in your blood even just a little it slows down even stops sending the LH and FSH message to your testis to make the Testosterone you were making. So lets say your labs for Total T were 350 you add this dose of gel your brain sees this and you lose the base level you had before the gel. Now lets say you need more then 5 grams most do so now all your left with is what the gel is doing so lets say it's doing 200 so you lost 150. The reason you feel good is your levels go up that 200 the gel is doing in the first 2 weeks so your levels go up to 550 in theory. The brain sees this and you fall back. Why can this happen it might be how your putting on the gel with Androgel you need to spread it over your upper arms and shoulders and down your back as far as you can reach this is half of your dose then do the other side. Just spread it over the area but don't rub it in. The other thing is it's not getting through your skin good so you need more. If you have a thyroid problem your skin will become thicker and gels and creams don't get through the skin and you need to switch to shots. I tell men when they go on Gels to retest in 2 weeks because you can end up feeling worse. Most men just need more gel. Dr.'s that tell men to go on 5 grams of gel and come back in 8 to 12 weeks for labs don't know much about the use of gels. Dr.'s that treat a lot of men for low T on gels see this happen and test them again in 2 weeks. When you go to do labs get up and shower that morning go do your labs and then put in the gel after your blood test so you don’t spike up your labs. If you can’t do labs in the morning shower put on the gel but don’t get any gel on the spot they take the blood from. Do your labs about 6 hrs later. Call your Dr. and tell him this and that your not feeling good you were but fell back. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply, Philip. Am I right in thinking I should discontinue Androgel immediately? And I wonder how I'm going to get my doctor to write a script for Arimidex....
Guest guest
No don't do that talk to him show him what you read here if he will not give you Arimidex to bring this down get some Indolplex/DIM buy this it is a supplement sold OTC and will bring down your Estradiol levels. http://www.iherb.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Pure-Rip-with-DIM-60-Tablets/12814?at=0 I don't what to see you sick for the Holidays stopping the gel you can crash you have been on it long enough to shut your brain down from telling your testis to make it. IF you come off this you need to do this with your Dr. Co-Moderator Phil > From: leafboy90 <dantimerman@...> > Subject: Re: How Long Does It Take??? > > Date: Thursday, December 23, 2010, 5:38 PM > Thanks for your reply, Philip. > Am I right in thinking I should discontinue Androgel > immediately? Guest guest
DIM definitely works.. for me at least. The results when I started taking it were very clear and there is no doubt that is does the job. It's so effective that you really need to treat it as if it were prescription medication and be careful with dosage. As for libido, I have had my own problems and I have been on TRT for four years now. Replacing natural T with exogenous T is not the easy fix that most people think, even when your estradiol levels are right where they need to be, though that really does help. It's obviously too early for this part of the discussion but just for the record, the best quick libido lift I have found is in combining Maca with Cialis or Levitra. Guest guest
Thanks, Phil. I just ordered some Indolplex/DIM so I won't have to fight with the doctor for an off-label scrip. I was confused about what you meant by being on TRT for life. Did you mean I've done irreparable damage to my testes, or just that doctors simply want to prescribe Androgel forever? That's why I asked about discontinuing Androgel. > > > From: leafboy90 <dantimerman@...> > > Subject: Re: How Long Does It Take??? > > > > Date: Thursday, December 23, 2010, 5:38 PM > > Thanks for your reply, Philip. > > Am I right in thinking I should discontinue Androgel > > immediately? Guest guest
Here let me talk about this so you under stand about adding Testosterone to your body. It's like bodybuilders taking Steroids to build bigger muscles. But we are replacing what the body need to be healthy. When you add Testosterone to your body to build more muscles or to treat low Testosterone your brain the Pituitary part of it sees this Testosterone in your blood and slows down sending the LH and FSH messages to your Testis and this stop making Testosterone. Some men can go on steroids to build muscles and they take 10x's what we do there body stops making it. So they cycle off it and Do a PCT or Take Clomid then HCG to jump start there Brain and Testis. Now you were not one huge amounts of Testosterone but you can still shut your self down meaning if you stop your T meds your brain might not tell your testis to go back to work. So all I am saying is don't do this by your self do it with your Dr. if he dose not know how to do this ask him if he will work with Dr. over the phone to get you started again. www.allthingsmale.com Now don't get all upset about this you had good levels before doing the T meds. Most men can just stop taking it and if they are lucky there brain and body will jump back in and start making your own testosterone. But if you try this and they don't jump back in your going to feel like crap very bad so it's best to do this with your Dr. and if needed Dr. to help. Here is some links that are a good read by Bill http://www.mesomorphosis.com/articles/pharmacology/anabolic-steroid-cycle-planni\ ng.htm http://www.mesomorphosis.com/articles/pharmacology/recovery-of-natural-testoster\ one-production.htm Co-Moderator Phil > From: leafboy90 <dantimerman@...> > Subject: Re: How Long Does It Take??? > > Date: Friday, December 24, 2010, 2:59 PM > Thanks, Phil.
