Guest guest
When the vial says 200mgs/ml 1ml = 200 mgs .5mls = 100 mgs. .10mls = 20 mgs .05 mls = 10 mgs and from what I know 100 mgs a week is way to much for a women. This is a very bad mistake on the Dr. or the Drug store you got this from. You need to call your Dr. and find out how much he wants you taking. I find it very hard a Dr. would put a women on 100 mgs / weeks this is what men with low T do. Guest guest
Thank you Phil. This is most likely why I'm having the conversion to Estrogen problem at this point too.  I will definitely check the dose with the Dr. and Pharmacy before I continue any further.   I'm glad I saw the post with another male questioning his dose.   So, in your opinion, what is a good dose for women to start on just for low T/libido??    Thanks so much! > From: <cinkourk@...> > Subject: question about T dosing > > Date: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 1:08 PM > Hi Phil, > > I've been reading the posts and I wanted to clarify > dosing.   So a bottle of CypT > 200mg/ml....dose is .5ml...how much is this in mgs? Am > I correct in saying that it is 50mgs?   > > Also same scenario with dose of .05ml...how much is this in > mgs? > > One of my bottles says to take .5ml and the other says > .05ml so I know they are not the same. Dr. gave me 1ml > syringes. > > I tried to look this up on the net but it's confusing and > it think one of the bottles is a typo. It was supposed > to be the same dosage. > > Thanks, > > > > > ------------------------------------ > >
Guest guest
Hi , My doctor started my female family members on 2% compounded cream, 0.625g twice per day. Basically, this was the equivalent of 1 pump of Androgel applied twice per day. Guest guest
Hi ,  I have tried everything in the past to help with my testosterone problems.  I tried creams, orals, gel, troches and even the pellets. I did the pellets alone for a year each time increasing the dosage but I just got so tired of the procedure and it was very expensive. Finally switced to a Dr. that let me have the T injections and this has worked. I now have to find the proper dose to maintain the good levels yet not go too high in T, being that I'm female.  I do think some of my problems come from my high shbg levels and the fact that I take only the T3.  I tend to convert any T4 to RT3.  Then I think with the high T dose it was convertinng to estrogen and get bound up to more shbg.   I think I will cut my T dose back a bit and I have now been a week without my Estrogen. Still feeling fine.  It's just getting everything tweeked, I believe...sure hope so. Thanks for your comments.  > From: <cinkourk@... <mailto:cinkourk%40sbcglobal.net> > > Subject: question about T dosing > <mailto: %40> > Date: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 1:08 PM > Hi Phil, > > I've been reading the posts and I wanted to clarify > dosing. Guest guest
, I'm curious, but what does testosterone do for you? If a man went to a doc with multiple symptoms, a doc would never say, let's put you on estrogen. So I'm just curious what the rationale is. FYI, I could not tolerate .1 mg testosterone cream; would break out in zits. If you took .5 ml of 200 mg/ml, you were taking 100 mg, or 1000x more than I can tolerate! And actually almost 4x more than my hubby takes! Guest guest
I don't feel I can answer this even when men ask this Question. One needs to start low and do labs and work there way up from how they feel and what your labs look like. If you were doing the wrong dose it will not kill you all you need to do is get with your Dr. see what you need to do to fix this. Please don't try anything with out seeing your Dr. to fix this let him fix it. Guest guest
Barb, I get a lot of new men here and at other forums where there Total T is very low and there Estradiol is very low the one I talked to at Dr. 's forum yesterday his Estradiol was 7 way to low for a man and his TT was 360 just above the top of the bottom of the range yet his LH and FSH levels were over the top of the range. Telling me he is Primary meaning his Testis don't work his Dr. told him he is fine his Total T levels are in range. With men this low on Estadiol Dr.'s would put them on TRT to try to get them both back up if the Estradiol would not come up they still would not put him on Estradiol but would try high levels of DHEA to try to move up the low Estadiol. Guest guest
Well you've actually made my point. You don't put a guy on estrogen, you look upstream of the problem, and fix that. You put them on TRT or DHEA and that fixes the low E. By the same logic, 's docs should be looking upstream for something that needs adjusting. I don't think T shots are ever warranted for women. > > > > > > > From: <cinkourk@ > > <mailto:cinkourk%40sbcglobal.net> > > > > > Subject: question about T dosing > > > > > > <mailto: %40> > > > > Date: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 1:08 PM > > > > Hi Phil, > > > > > > > > I've been reading the posts and I wanted to > > clarify > > > > dosing. Guest guest
Hi Barb,  I know it sounds crazy but my levels of T are just very low. I also had a very low libido, muscle wasting and low energy. So, I take the bio-identical hormones and I am lab tested repeatedly....usually every eight weeks. I've been doing this for five years now.  So they constantly know what my levels are and they are usually rock bottom even for a female.  My testosterone levels are zero (0).  I've tried 1%,2% creams and then even went to gels which is only for men from what I understand. I've tried oral T, troches and even a year's worth of testosterone pellets...ouch on my backside and very expensive.  The pellets were supposed to last the average person three to four months. I would have maybe one good week and have to repeat the pellet implantation every six to eight weeks.   I just didn't hold onto the T or I processed it too fast. Not sure why. But, now that I am on the injections I have more energy, finally have a little muscle mass and my lidibo has returned.   This is what I and my Dr. are trying to accomplish. Women need Testosterone too, along with the other hormones and it's quite the balancing act, especially in my case. I had crashed adrenals, took HC for a year and a half and also found out that I had an RT3 problem. Any T4 I take is converted to Reverse T3 and it just builds up....doesn't get released into my cells for usage with the thyroid.  Being on a T3 only product can also cause the shbg levels to elevate. This is why I possiby need so much more than normal. I have recently decreased my estrogen dose because I was converting the Testo to Estrogen and the Testosterone was binding and not being utilized. So, possibly with the lowering of my Estrogen I may be able to use less Testo but just not sure yet.   Even with the high dose that I take I don't have any male symptoms. I just think I'm one of those people that doesn't make enough testosterone and I need it. I'm very feminine, curvy and dainty. I had a good sex drive when I was younger but it has really diminished the past ten years.  I realize I'm getting older but I know alot of women on testosterone and they are doing well. Just because I'm in my early 50's doesn't mean that I'm going to accept having no libido when I have a husband that I love every much that is just fine.   I want to make things better for the both of us and there are Dr.'s out there that are helping people like me everyday.  I also have girlfriends that could care less about their sex life with their husband but I'm not one of those women. I want to stay young and vibrant as long as I can.    From: Barb <baba@...> Subject: Re: question about T dosing Date: Thursday, December 23, 2010, 10:03 AM  , I'm curious, but what does testosterone do for you? Guest guest
Oh, I know Phil. I didn't mean for you to tell me a dose that I needed to take.  I was just curious what the average dose is for a women....roughly.  Since my dose seems to be so high for a female, I was just curious what is considered an average female dose.  I would never do anything without the consult of my Dr.  And I truly think the dose I'm on is correct. He gave me an injection while in his office once and it was the same. I just think that in order to get the T to good levels with me it's got to be up there. Now since I was having the cramping and came on your group to ask about the conversion of T to E I have reduced my E and the cramping is gone as is the breast tenderness and the libido is returning. So something to be said about lowering the estrogen in my case. My levels looked perfect on my labs in November, but then again as you point out levels are not what we should always concentrate upon.  I'll be retested this next week and it will be interesting to see what the lab levels say since I am feeling so much better these days.   Do you know any other women on T injections? I know of several and I think it is gaining more recognition, especially with the anti-aging type docs.  That is when the other means of transport do not work as in my case.  I did talk to Val and told her about lowering the shbg with lowering estrogen. She was not on board with that since she said that she still feels low in estrogen. She is going to remain on the stinging nettle to lower her shbg.   Guess we'll see how it goes.  Thanks for all of the suggestions and concerns from everyone. I will be cautious.  > > > From: <cinkourk@...> > > Subject: question about T dosing > > > > Date: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 1:08 PM > > Hi Phil, > > > > I've been reading the posts and I wanted to clarify > > dosing.   So a bottle of CypT > > 200mg/ml....dose is .5ml...how much is this in mgs? > Am > > I correct in saying that it is 50mgs?   > > > > Also same scenario with dose of .05ml...how much is > this in > > mgs? > > > > One of my bottles says to take .5ml and the other > says > > .05ml so I know they are not the same. Dr. gave me > 1ml > > syringes. > > > > I tried to look this up on the net but it's confusing > and > > it think one of the bottles is a typo. It was > supposed > > to be the same dosage. > > > > Thanks, > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > >
Guest guest
some people eat up the Testosterone as fast as they take it I am like this I need to do a 100 mgs .5ml shot every 3 days to keep my Testosterone levels up. Now I am in a lot of pain from being on Statin Drugs I eat it up even faster my Dr. just pushed up my T dose 3 months ago when I could not stand to walk anymore I was only doing .4 mls every 3 days. I also use HCG the day before my Test C shot 250 IU's to help keep my levels up. When I could not walk due to all the pain my levels fell from 900 to 500 on ..4mls 80 mgs every 3 days now doing .5 mls 100 mgs my levels are back up at 900 top of range for men is 1100. I feel you would learn more about this by reading Hormones 101 by the mod chilln at Dr. 's forum it's about men but you will find a lot out about what is going on with you. http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15290 Co-Moderator Phil > > > From: Barb <baba@...> > Subject: Re: question about T dosing > > Date: Thursday, December 23, 2010, 10:03 AM > > > > > > > , I'm curious, but what does testosterone do for you? > If a man went to a doc with multiple symptoms, a doc would > never say, let's put you on estrogen. Guest guest
Thanks so much Phil!  That makes me feel so much better.  That is so interesting to hear that you use it up quickly as well.  I was starting to think I was some freak or something.  I've already had so many weird things happen to me in just the past six to eight years. I spend countless hours on my PC trying to find answers because most Dr.'s are just not up on this stuff. That's what was so strange about the pellets that I did. I would get them inserted. Started out at 75mg and by the time I was ready to call it quite I was up to 225 mgs of pellets. You could lab test my levels in two week and things would look fairly good. Then within that four week time the levels would just start dropping. Dr. could not tell me why so we just kept doing it more frequent and with more dose.  It is so painful to get the implants done and cost way too much for what I was getting from it. I was so glad to find a Dr. that would give me the injections and they have really helped. I too have odd pains and there was a time when I had trouble sleeping and could barely walk in the mornings.  The pain is still present but so much more bareable. I just went to my fourth rhematologist yesterday for the pain. For the past six years I have continued to have positive Anti-nuclear anti-bodies but they could never get a firm dx.  I think I am finally showing signs of more of an auto-immune type proces, like possibly Sjogren's. Got more labwork done and will find out next week.  Seems it's always something. Sounds like I'm this really unhappy, unhealty person but I'm not.  I'm very active, exercise three to four days a week, full of life and a very happy person. Just wish I could figure out this other stuff....and I will!!  Thanks so much for the reassurance and for the other link. I will definitely check out the site.  > > > From: Barb <baba@...> > Subject: Re: question about T dosing > > Date: Thursday, December 23, 2010, 10:03 AM > > >  > > > > , I'm curious, but what does testosterone do for you? > If a man went to a doc with multiple symptoms, a doc would > never say, let's put you on estrogen. Guest guest
Well I do talk to a lot of men just like us they suffered big time because there Dr.'s did not under stand way there levels would not last. Yet Dr.'s like Dr. , Dr. no at http://www.definitivemind.com/forums/index.php Talk about this all the time even Dr. Shippen has said this. Talk about pellets I tried them the Dr. that gave them to me did my wife's cousin pellets she swore this Dr. was the best. It was the biggest rip off of my money I ever seen. I see this Dr. cost seeing him, labs, pellets and putting them in was over $1500. He did not give me enough I was back in 3 week very low. So for $500 more he gave me more this was some 25 yrs ago. Today I know if I were to do pellets I need about 1600 mgs and can't find a Dr. in my state that will do this they want me back every 4 weeks to do them. All the Dr.s here in my start are ripping people off giving them pellets. I know I talk to the place that makes them and they are meant to last 3 to 4 months not 4 weeks. So if they don't give you enough your levels will fall. Guest guest
I was talking to Hardasnails yesterday he feels women on shots do 10 mgs to start with. He said if he has time he will drop by and read her posts. Guest guest
Hi Phil,  Merry Christmas!! And thanks for the further inquiry to your friend Hardasnails. If he does get a chance to take a look at the posts, I would really appreciate hearing what he has to say.  This past week I did cut my shot in half. I'm just going to see how I do.  I was a little concerned about all of the negatve comments but I feel so much better on the higher dose of T.  Taking it a week at a time.    Thanks! > > > > > From: <cinkourk@...> > > > Subject: question about T dosing > > > > > > Date: Wednesday, December 22, 2010, 1:08 PM > > > Hi Phil, > > > > > > I've been reading the posts and I wanted to > clarify > > > dosing.   So a bottle of CypT > > > 200mg/ml....dose is .5ml...how much is this in > mgs? > > Am > > > I correct in saying that it is 50mgs?   > > > > > > Also same scenario with dose of .05ml...how much > is > > this in > > > mgs? > > > > > > One of my bottles says to take .5ml and the > other > > says > > > .05ml so I know they are not the same. Dr. gave > me > > 1ml > > > syringes. > > > > > > I tried to look this up on the net but it's > confusing > > and > > > it think one of the bottles is a typo. It was > > supposed > > > to be the same dosage. > > > > > > Thanks, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > >
Guest guest
Anyone cutting there dose man or women is going to feel off for at time until there body adjusts to the lower dose. Every thing is about time give it time. Guest guest
, I think everyone is individual and dosing is the same way--for me for example, I was given 100mg T in pellet form--it was to *last* supposedly for 3-4 months (it was way to low for me and I never felt much better on it ever)...verify the dose with pharmacist and work with doctor to make sure the E2 and progesterone/thyroid and adrenal hormones are all clicking in the right direction at the same time too..EL > > Hi Phil, > > I've been reading the posts and I wanted to clarify dosing. So a bottle of CypT 200mg/ml....dose is .5ml...how much is this in mgs? Am I correct in saying that it is 50mgs? > > Also same scenario with dose of .05ml...how much is this in mgs? > > One of my bottles says to take .5ml and the other says .05ml so I know they are not the same. Dr. gave me 1ml syringes. > > I tried to look this up on the net but it's confusing and it think one of the bottles is a typo. It was supposed to be the same dosage. > > Thanks, > >
