Guest guest
Hi there, I am in a similar situation. I live in Austin and have a call in to my fourth local doctor in a year. Was diagnosed low T at 28 (TT330) yrs old. Now at 41, my TT is 261. Started Testim one tube 3 mos ago. When I didnt respond well, my GP kind of just gave up on me, and confessed that he didnt really know much about this area of medicine. I now have a call into Dr. lin in Austin (clublongevity.com - they take most insurance), but based on their slow response so far, Im not sure they will be the answer either. Let me know if you have success with Dr Han. PS - does anyone know if Mike Scalley is affiliated with any current practice in Houston? > > I was wondering if any of you guys are familiar with S Tan. I need a good hrt doctor and am located in southern Texas; Dr. Tan is a short drive away. Has anybody here seen him as a patient? Is he supposed to be good? Does he prescribe hcg? > > I've considered going up to see Dr. Crisler, but at the moment, I can't afford an office visit with him. Would Dr. Tan be just as good? > > BTW, I'm a 27 year old male with low normal testosterone levels (secondary) and all the symptoms. I'm fed up with seeing lazy, fat endo's who could care less if my body and life are falling apart. >
Guest guest
Is this him in this link. http://tinyurl.com/yhbqzez I am Secondary this Dr. says he treats hypogonadism but still call there ask how many men does he treat for low T and if he tests for high Estradiol and if he uses Arimidex to keep it down. Ask if he uses HCG to treat men that are Secondary. I need all the hormones the Pituitary controls Testosterone, Cotrisol, Thyroid, Aldosterone, Renin and Growth Hormone. Do to them problems I have low Ferrin or Iron levels and very high levels of Estradiol. Even Folic Acid levels are low and when I tested them I was on Folic Acid. So all I am saying is there can be a lot of thing wrong with your over and above Testosterone and you need a Dr. up on this. Guest guest
I don't know much about Dr. Scally other then Dr. and him don't like each other. Last I hear Dr. Scally had his license revoked. Here is some info about this in a cut and paste from this link. http://www.tmb.state.tx.us/professionals/calendar/minutes/doc/2005/fullboardfeb0\ 5.php Any time one sees a new Dr. they need to check up on him. ==================================================== Agenda item #14, Proposal for Decision – C. Scally, M.D. Mark Martyn, Staff Attorney, appeared representing the board. Dr. Scally appeared with counsel, L. T. “Butch†Bradt. The Administrative Law Judge, C. Egan, gave a report and recommendation to revoke the license of Dr. Scally and to assess an administrative penalty in the amount of $190,000 and transcription costs in the amount of $12,809.50. Mr. Martyn and Mr. Bradt made presentations. Dr. Price moved, Ms. Blackwell seconded, and the motion passed to adopt the Administrative Law Judge’s Proposal for Decision, including the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law, as its own, and move that the medical license of C. Scally, M.D., be revoked and that he be assessed an administrative penalty of $190,000.00 and transcript costs in the amount of $12,809.50. Guest guest
The only reason I thought he might be good is that on his wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/_Tan), it says that he is a pioneer in the field of testosterone replacement therapy and has written books on the subject. He even has a separate men's health clinic. Since he is an hour and a half away, I would still like to be positive before making the drive. I'll ask his office those questions beforehand. Thanks. > > > From: watelifter <watelifter@...> > > Subject: Need Doctor Recommendation > > > > Date: Friday, February 5, 2010, 7:47 AM > > I was wondering if any of you guys > > are familiar with S Tan. Guest guest
I haven't seen Dr. Tan but I recall a web article where he describing his philosophy in treating men with low testosterone. He mentioned the phrase " relative hypogonadism " - wherein a(n) (aging) man could have low normal total testosterone, but could have symptoms of hypogonadism (http://www.nature.com/ijir/journal/v14/n4/full/3900861a.html). Also, he mentioned clinical response as a better gauge than serum testosterone levels. An excerpt from his book, " Aging Men's Health: A Case-Based Approach " , can be found here: (preview) (http://preview.tinyurl.com/y9ma8qt) or (http://tinyurl.com/y9ma8qt). Additionally, a web article (which I cannot find now) mentioned Dr. Tan treating a man who had a total T over 500 ng/dL, because he found his LH and FSH was extremely elevated (supposing that his pituitary and the rest of his body perceived low T). As good as he sounds, I've yet to meet anyone who's a patient of Dr. Tan. Hopefully, a quick screening of his office will get you the info you need. ~Xian > > > > > From: watelifter <watelifter@> > > > Subject: Need Doctor Recommendation > > > > > > Date: Friday, February 5, 2010, 7:47 AM > > > I was wondering if any of you guys > > > are familiar with S Tan.
