Guest guest
Hi Guys and thanks in advance for reading my post. I'm 48 yrs old, work out hard daily and in stellar shape if I say so my myself. That said, last June my Dr. diagnosed me with low T and started me on Androgel 4 pumps a day. That went pretty well but because I'm in a household of women last November I asked to give injections a try the Dr. readily did so for me. Now I know weekly shots are highly suggested here but for whatever reason he prescribed 250ml every 18 days to be given at his office. Overall I've done well on this regiment and my test # went from like 250 to about 400 since doing so. What I've noticed however is that about 10 days in I seem to start getting irritating night sweats. No other negative side effects and in fact I've otherwise been very pleased with the positive ones. (better overall feeling, much more lean, more energy) FYI I also take Zinc and Dim in low doses on my own as well. Would the fluctuation in T levels caused by waiting 18 days between injections possibly be responsible for my night sweats? Your thoughts are very much appreciated. Guest guest
I too experience Night Sweats, as well as a friend also on TRT. We think that the Night Swears occur closer to the end of our T injection cycle. no one or Dr can give an explanation. I do not know if it is from too high or too low E2 (estradiol). I work out very hard and I am also in great physical condition. Perhaps those that work out use up their T faster than most. What are your thoughts on this possibility? ________________________________ From: miguy1962 <miguy1962@...> Sent: Wed, January 19, 2011 8:39:44 AM Subject: night sweats and T cyp injections  Hi Guys and thanks in advance for reading my post. Guest guest
miguy1962, Doing shots like this is good for your Dr. he makes money off them and does not get into trouble with your Heath Care Plain. But not good for you what happens is your BIG SHOT is going to peak very high at about the 3rd day say 1500 if you did labs or higher. Then your big shot is going to convert into Estraidol most of it will. Your doing Zinc and DIM is not enough to slow this down. By your next shot your levels are going to fall very low so going from 1500 to say 400 is why we feel bad levels going down to low make up feel like crap. Your night sweats can be from your T levels falling so low of from your Estraidol levels peaking they peak at night in your sleep. I would wake up in full Painc Attacks and be socking wet when my Dr. had me on shots every 2 weeks doing 200 mgs. In this like and from the AACE Guildelines and this is dated it says on page 11 to do as follows. Today most good Dr. like Shippen he did the book " The Testosterone Sydrome " in this book and it's dated he was down on shots. Today he gives his self a shot every 3 days saying this keeps him more leveled and helps keep his Estradiol levels down and helps keep his blood thinner. Others do well every week and add in HCG 250 IU's the 2 days each before there next Test C shot. Doing this keep there testis working and keep there levels up until the next Test C shot. http://www.aace.com/pub/pdf/guidelines/hypogonadism.pdf =================================================== Testosterone enanthate and testosterone cypionate are long-acting testosterone esters suspended in oil to prolong absorption. Peak levels occur about 72 hours after intramuscular injection and are followed by a slow decline during the subsequent 1 to 2 weeks (49). For complete androgen replacement, the regimen should be between 50 and 100 mg of testosterone enanthate or cypionate administered intramuscularly every 7 to 10 days, which will achieve relatively normal levels of testosterone throughout the time interval between injections (50). Longer time intervals are more convenient but are associated with greater fluctuations in testosterone levels. Higher doses of testosterone produce longer-term effects but also higher peak levels and wider swings between peak and nadir circulating testosterone levels; the result is fluctuating symptoms in many patients (51). The use of 100 to 150 mg of testosterone every 2 weeks is a reasonable compromise. Use of 300-mg injections every 3 weeks is associated with wider fluctuations of testosterone levels and is generally inadequate to ensure a consistent clinical response. With use of these longerinterval regimens, many men will have pronounced symptoms during the week preceding the next injection. In such instances, a smaller dose at closer intervals should be tried. As a guide, testosterone levels should be above the lower limit of normal, in the range of 250 to 300 ng/dL, just before the next injection (52). Excessive peak levels and side effects should also be monitored and used to adjust the dosing regimens. Guest guest
Yes Working out hard can eat up your T meds faster and eat up your cortisol levels and if your levels are low at night when your sleeping your sugar can drop on you making you sweat and even wake you up. This cut and paste is from this link. http://livingnetwork.co.za/lifestylefunctional-medicine/hormones/adrenal-fatigue\ / ================================================= Adrenal insufficiency is linked to insomnia in two ways. 1)If your cortisol drops too low during the night your blood sugar drops too. Your body compensate by releasing adrenaline as an emergency measure to mobilize more sugar. This has the effect of waking you in an instant. This can be reduced by eating high protein snack before retiring e.g. sardines, nuts of high quality protein shake. 2)In early stages of adrenal fatigue cortisol levels tend to rise and if they are high at midnight they can energise you and keep you awake. Phosphorylated serine can be used to lower cortisol at these times due to its ACTH dampening effect. Guest guest
Wow and I do wake up in an INSTANT as well. Sometimes sweating and sometimes not but almost every night. Falling asleep is no problem but at 2 am Im wide awake up until of course about the the time I reall do need to get up at which point I get tired again...go figure. So I consume some high protien before bed then? But I was under the impression that working out actually INCREASED self procuction of T. No? Thus this may sound elementary but should I back off on the work outs? (that would be very difficult for me at this stage I'm afraid) Thanks!! > > > From: greg vitiello <cupid1017@...> > > Subject: Re: night sweats and T cyp injections > > " miguy1962 " <miguy1962@...> > > Cc: > > Date: Wednesday, January 19, 2011, 10:37 AM > > I too experience Night Sweats, as > > well as a friend also on TRT. Guest guest
If you did a search on this you will see exercising to a point will make T levels higher. But if your over doing it or you have health problems they will drop. We get young men here over doing it exercising and dieting to get % of body fat down they end up with a shut down of there brain telling there body to make a lot of hormones. As we age we need more time between a muscle work out then the next time. Between ages 12 to 25 one day off after this 2 then 3 days for the muscle to recover after all working out breaks the muscle down and it's healing is how it get bigger and stronger. If you don't give it enough time to heal it stays tore down. This can have a bad effect on Hormones. If you sweat or wake up like this yes try and eat some cheese or nuts not a lot and keep some neare your bed so when you wake up you can eat some. If this works have your cortisol levels checked out. If your on TRT yes working out stress, an infection even pain will eat up your meds. Guest guest
Thank you. I do not take HcG any longer because i thought that may have contributed to the Night Sweats; perhaps going back on HcG may help. Will the HcG help lower or increase E2? ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Wed, January 19, 2011 11:35:10 AM Subject: Re: night sweats and T cyp injections  Yes Working out hard can eat up your T meds faster and eat up your cortisol levels and if your levels are low at night when your sleeping your sugar can drop on you making you sweat and even wake you up. Guest guest
HCG can up your Estradiol levels if your doing too much. If on shots once a week do 250 IU's the 2 days each before your next Test C shot. I doing shots 2 or more x's / week then do 250 IU's the day before the shot. If on gels or creams do 250 IU's every 3 days. Guest guest
reduce dosages by 50% on HCG. We are not using it to increase testosterone, but to keep lh receptors alive. I tell patients to start slow and measure reponse. Guest guest
Hard I lowered my HCG dose on my last shot from 250 to 150 and I felt much better. And I lowered my Test C shot from 100 mgs every 3 days to 80 mgs I am just tired of all this conversion into E2. I went back on the Preg. cream 15 mgs yesterday putting it on the side of my belly. I did this in the morning that night in bed I put my hand on the area and it felt hot strange. I am trying to see if what chilln says is going to help get my Cortisol levels higher slowing down the conversion of T to E2. What what he says the Cortisol will go up from the conversion of the Preg into it not from Adrenals. Guest guest
Remember lower HCG may actually perseve your cortisol resevoir as well and drop your e2. Just keep an eye on your nuts to see if they shrink then you are on too little HCG. I think I am on to something where every one was using hcg to kick up T in HRT, but not looking at the true meaning of perserving LH receptor. If people want to add more testosterone take higher dose of test not hcg. > > > > > > > From: greg vitiello <cupid1017@> > > > > Subject: Re: night sweats and T > > cyp injections > > > > " miguy1962 " <miguy1962@> > > > > Cc: > > > > Date: Wednesday, January 19, 2011, 10:37 AM > > > > I too experience Night Sweats, as > > > > well as a friend also on TRT. We think that > > > > the Night Swears occur closer to the end of our T > > injection > > > > cycle. no one or Dr > > > > can give an explanation. I do not know if it > > is from too > > > > high or too low E2 > > > > (estradiol). I work out very hard and I am > > also in great > > > > physical condition. > > > > Perhaps those that work out use up their T faster > > than > > > > most. > > > > > > > > What are your thoughts on this possibility? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > > > From: miguy1962 <miguy1962@> > > > > > > > > Sent: Wed, January 19, 2011 8:39:44 AM > > > > Subject: night sweats and T cyp > > injections > > > > > > > >  > > > > Hi Guys and thanks in advance for reading my > > post. Guest guest
Yes I agree on this HCG will for me will make a lot of T in higher dose's but it also makes a lot of E2. I went back over my labs going back 2 yrs. checking my E2 levels with my SHBG. I was trying to see if my muscle pain might not be from driving my E2 down to low. I went over 13 labs my SHBG was between 19 to 22 one time my E2 was down to 7 I made the mistake of taking my dose of Arimidex the morning of my labs. All the rest of the time my levels were between 20 to 29 just one test was 17. I don't feel my muscle problems are from low E2. Guest guest
Well I am doing this in stages I am going to low my dose until my next set of labs. Still I wonder why my skin was hot last night where I put the Preg. cream on that morning. Guest guest
Does taking a smaller T injection (50mg)  2xs weekly better than a larger dose (100mg) for lower PSA levels? Been on TRT injections for 10 months and PSA was at 0.7 now at 2.0. This is concerning my URO Dr. waiting for lab results from last week for the endo. Will HcG help is used correctly? I do not currently take HcG and have not since July. ________________________________ From: hardasnails1973 <hardasnails1973@...> Sent: Thu, January 20, 2011 11:35:10 AM Subject: Re: night sweats and T cyp injections  Once I get my hormones stablizes with T and e2 for 8 weeks then I may addin hcg 100 ius twice weekly hold that to see if my nuts increase in size then retest in 3 weeks. > > > > > > > > > From: greg vitiello <cupid1017@> > > > > > Subject: Re: night sweats and T > > > cyp injections > > > > > " miguy1962 " <miguy1962@> > > > > > Cc: > > > > > Date: Wednesday, January 19, 2011, 10:37 AM > > > > > I too experience Night Sweats, as > > > > > well as a friend also on TRT. We think that > > > > > the Night Swears occur closer to the end of our T > > > injection > > > > > cycle. no one or Dr > > > > > can give an explanation. I do not know if it > > > is from too > > > > > high or too low E2 > > > > > (estradiol). I work out very hard and I am > > > also in great > > > > > physical condition. > > > > > Perhaps those that work out use up their T faster > > > than > > > > > most. > > > > > > > > > > What are your thoughts on this possibility? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > > > > From: miguy1962 <miguy1962@> > > > > > > > > > > Sent: Wed, January 19, 2011 8:39:44 AM > > > > > Subject: night sweats and T cyp > > > injections > > > > > > > > > >  > > > > > Hi Guys and thanks in advance for reading my > > > post. Guest guest
Hey Greg - my experience is that PSA is somewhat driven by E2 levels. You may notice when you are taking 1 large shot a week that you may also have BPH (enlarged prostate) symptoms also like trouble urinating and frequent urination. PSA results respond to the amount of swelling of the prostate so while enlarged can give larger PSA numbers. A value of 2 for someone on TRT is not out of line. I have less prostate issues doing 2 shots a week which does control our E2 conversion.  Just my opinion - Arkansas From: greg vitiello <cupid1017@...> Subject: Re: night sweats and T cyp injections Date: Thursday, January 20, 2011, 12:01 PM  Does taking a smaller T injection (50mg)  2xs weekly better than a larger dose (100mg) for lower PSA levels? Been on TRT injections for 10 months and PSA was at 0.7 now at 2.0.
