40 yr old Sec Hypo - I Obtained New Scores Today

I could not find my old post to add to so I made a new one.

I was diagnosed at 27 w/ Secondary Hypogonadism. I'm now 40.

I've tried most of the testosterone replacement drugs available with what I feel

is little success. My first total testosterone score was 164 in a range of 241

to 827. Since then my scores have averaged in the upper 300's in a range of 350

to 1030. Around August 2009 I decided there is no reason I should not get my

score to at least 700 just to see if I would feel better and possibly to

increase my libido which I've never really had.

I'm trying to make sense of my recent scores...

08-18-2009 T Serum Total 386 (range 350-1030) Androgel 4 pumps

11-03-2009 T Serum Total 415 (range 350-1030) Androgel 5 pumps

12-23-2009 T Serum Total 445 (range 241-827) 4 weeks on 10 Testopel Pellets

01-26-2010 Testosterone, Free+Weakly Bound

T Serum 816 (range 280-800) 8 weeks on Testopel + 2 Pumps of

Androgel

% Free+Weakly Bound 52.2 (range 9-46)

F+W Bound 426 (range 40-250)

Estradiol, Serum, MS 5.4 (range .8-3.5)

These new scores I got today are dramatically out of the ordinary. I don't feel

any different really than I did in August of last year. My estradiol is over the

top. The last time it was measured was 1998 and it was at 4.1 then. I have

normal nocturnal erections. Does estradiol affect libido at all? It's odd that

Androgel alone did not bring my T score up but when I add 2 pumps to the

Testopel it shot way up.

Any ideas?

I feel your levels came up because your like me I eat up the T as fast as I take

it. Doing gels my levels were like yours not high enough. Today I so shots

80mgs every 3 days and I do 400 IU's of HCG the 2 days each in between my T

shots. My levels are up in the high 800's much like yours. You did this with

pellets and gel same thing diff. way it takes a lot to get my levels up and

doing more my Estradiol E2 levels go why up so I take Arimidex .25 mgs every 2

to 3 days to keep them down in the sweet spot. I call it the sweet spot because

when I am there I get night time and morning wood and don't have ED problems.

So I gage my E2 levels by my wood. I don't know what kind of Estradiol labs you

got the range is strange to me my range is 13 to 54 pg/ml the sweet spot for

most men is 20.

So you need to keep doing what your doing but get on some arimidex start with .5

mgs every other day until your wood comes back keep taking this until your wood

stops this means your going down to low. So just stop taking it until your wood

comes back in a few days that day go back on it but do less .25 mgs every other

day. Keep a log on how you feel when your to high and to low. So you can

adjust your dose to keep your wood going.

Once you get to the sweet spot and stay there your going to feel better high

levels of E2 hold you back from feeling better on trt.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't have much of a problem with erections. I just never have nor do I

currently ever feel horny so to speak. I starting to feel like I may be asking

too much of my HRT.

It's frustrating. I'm 40 and a normal guy from an appearance standpoint but I've

never been in a relationship. I like women. I'm not gay. I've just never had

even a small amount of that horny drive that I presume other men have or have

had in their youth. I thought it might help me to get my T score up. I new it

would not be a magic bullet but thought it might make some difference.

Is estradiol/estrogen a damper on ones libido at all or does it just affect

erections?
