Guest guest
I believe you multiply number of units by 10 to go from ng/dL to pg/dL. Then 12.1 ng/dL = 121 pg/dL. See if that sounds right.... If I am wrong someone please correct. Using LabCorp's ranges, Free T has a range of 5-21 ng/dL while total T is 241-827 ng/dL. You will see that free T is around 2% of total which I believe is the normally considered value. > > I was wondering if someone can help me out. > > Everything I see online is that free T is usually measured in pg/ml and total T is ng/dL. > > My latest test results were free T of 12.1 ng/dL. How does that convert to pg/ml? > > Thanks! >
Guest guest
I was actually looking for a conversion to pg/ml. This is one example of free T ranges I found . Reference Intervals for Free Testosterone from LabCorp * 20-29 years 9.3-26.5 picogram/mL * 30-39 years 8.7-25.1 picogram/mL * 40-49 years 6.8-21.5 picogram/mL * 50-59 years 7.2-24.0 picogram/mL * 60+ years 6.6-18.1 picogram/mL I'm just wondering where I fall. My total T was 327 ng/dL and my free T was 12.1 ng/dL > > > > I was wondering if someone can help me out. > > > > Everything I see online is that free T is usually measured in pg/ml and total T is ng/dL. > > > > My latest test results were free T of 12.1 ng/dL. Guest guest
ng to pg is a factor of 1000 (to get ng divide pg by 1000, to get pg multiply ng by 1000) from this link. http://forum.onlineconversion.com/showthread.php?t=7318 Co-Moderator Phil > From: noslo5pt0 <no_reply > > Subject: Free testosterone ng/dL to pg/ml? > > Date: Monday, March 1, 2010, 6:39 PM > I was wondering if someone can help > me out. > > Everything I see online is that free T is usually measured > in pg/ml and total T is ng/dL. > > My latest test results were free T of 12.1 ng/dL. Guest guest
I found that link last night before I posted but there is so much conflicting info. in it so I had to ask here. So to get ng to pg you multiply by 1000 but then you still have to convert from dL to mL. Going by this Dr's response: " You asked originally: I want to convert 122.3 pg/ml to ng/dl. A pg or picogram is 1/1000 of a nanogram. Therefore 122.3 pg/ml would be 0.1223 ng/ml. ng/dl means ng per 100 ml. Therefore to convert 0.1223 ng/ml to ng/dl you would multiply by 100 to get 12.23 ng/dl. " I would take 12.1 ng/dL / 100 to get .121 ng/mL. Then I take .121 ng/mL x 1000 to get 121 pg/mL. 121 pg/mL makes no sense in any of the free T ranges I've seen. I think my results are screwed up and possibly my free T # is already in pg/mL. > > > From: noslo5pt0 <no_reply > > > Subject: Free testosterone ng/dL to pg/ml? > > > > Date: Monday, March 1, 2010, 6:39 PM > > I was wondering if someone can help > > me out. > > > > Everything I see online is that free T is usually measured > > in pg/ml and total T is ng/dL. > > > > My latest test results were free T of 12.1 ng/dL.
