Guest guest
What kind of Iron are you taking this can upset your stomach. I tried a lot of brands until I found one that worked and got my levels up it's called. Ferrous Fumarate - 324 mg- 100 tab From Cypress Pharmaceutical I take this on an empty stomach with Vit. C 1000 mgs this helps the iron work. I can't say what did this to you might still have been Flu. Guest guest
I took Ferrous Bislycinate (chelated iron) for over 1 year with no issues, the switched per Hertoghes request to Ferrous Sulfate. Nobelprisen of these worked. Cause I have absorption issues, due to low copper, low manganese and just low stomach acid. I Think anyway the keyword for my sufferigs as of late here is: Pancreas! Guest guest
Hertoghe tells me to seek a gastroentorologist. Why can't anybody tell me if I should take Arimidex or not while having Pancreatitis? What abott Copper, Iron and Vitamin A which I also need? I feel I am standing still. I have a CT scan of my stomach in a few days. After this, things will be clear with the Pancreas. Guest guest
Yes Tom some men can take 1/4 of a pill and feel much better in an hour. And after your taking Arimidex say every 3 days a 1/4 of a pill .25 mgs in about 5 weeks it builds up in your body and works very fast. I found this out from Dr. high E2 levels give me Panic Attacks and I posted that when this happens I can take extra Arimidex and the Pain stops in about an hour. So man posted back to me saying I am full of it and Dr. jumped in saying it will work very fast after your on it about 5 weeks. I have spent a lot of time in the last week reading up on Arimidex not studies about women taking it just postings from men on it. Yes when you first go on Arimidex trying to get down your high levels of E2. As the E2 comes down if your on Thyroid meds the lower levels of E2 make your Thyroid work better. So you can have feelings like some thing is wrong with your heart. It looks like what is going on like Barb. says is your going hyper. Some men would lower there dose for a few days of there Thyroid meds or until there E2 levels off a the lower levels. Some men feel off when there E2 starts to come down Dr.'s up on this tell them to give it time the feelings will pass. I have yet to read of a man that could not take it due to the Arimidex it's self. I am not a Dr. just saying what it looks like is going on to me. Men that have high levels of E2 got this way over a long time. Bring it down very fast you can feel a bit off for a time. Some men don't bring down there levels fast it takes time others it works very fast. Some men need a higher dose to get there levels down others don't. As E2 comes down it can have an effect on your nerves this can upset your stomach and make your heart race even make your BP go up. Guest guest
Thanks for the long and good info. My symptoms now (i am still not taking arimidex) are: * Lower BP (110/65/80) * extreme fatigue and weakness * Pulse around 60 in the nighttime (too low) * Pale stools (since October 2007) * Bloated belly * Extreme pain in stomach 10 days ago that lastes for 3-5 days I am at the ER now, feeling they MUST do something like examine me properly. I might have conplications from my pancreas situation. For all I know this is high E2 causing me to feel incredibly weak and sleepy now. Hertoghe is diffuse about my arimdex, if I should take it or not. I dont Get a clear answer. I have only taken those 2 x 0.25 mg doses 10 data ago, til my stomach went bad. T. Guest guest
Just had 5 minutes on the phone woth Dr. Hertoghe and I told him I felt super sleepy and super weak. I asked if I should start arimidex. He said dont start arimidex cause it lowers cortisol. And according to symptoms, he said I need GROWTH HORMONE and more cortisol. I must switch from Hydrocortison to Prednisolone then start GH. So yeah. That was the Word of the day. I am confused. No arimidex? But my E2 is high?????? He said My symptoms are not from high E2, but from a GH-deficiency. Sendt fra min iPhone Den 1. mars 2011 kl. 16.48 skrev <gibcast@...>: Thanks for the long and good info. Hertoghe is diffuse about my arimdex, if I should take it or not. I dont Get a clear answer. I have only taken those 2 x 0.25 mg doses 10 data ago, til my stomach went bad. T. Sendt fra min iPhone Den 1. mars 2011 kl. 16.35 skrev philip georgian <pmgamer18@...>: Yes Tom some men can take 1/4 of a pill and feel much better in an hour. And what did they say can be the cause or causes of your symptoms? Re: My stomach condition ++ Just had 5 minutes on the phone woth Dr. Guest guest
Tom, That is the first time I ever heard Arimidex lowers Cortisol levels. Not for me I have been on 30 mgs of HC for over 10 yrs now and doing Arimidex longer. Every 6 to 8 weeks I test my morning fasting blood cortisol levels at about 8:30 am after taking 10 mgs of HC at 6 am. My Dr. runs this test to check to see if I am shutting down my Adreanls from taking to much HC. My labs have been between 9 to 12 for yrs showing him my Adreanls are still working not shut down. And when I added in Preg. cream my labs for the first time went up to 20 for Cortisol. So the Preg. Cream is convering into some Cortisol. If you go on Prednisolone make sure it's methylprednisolone or Medrol. Or your going to end up with Cushing Syndrome. ==================================================== Chris' experience with Cushing's Syndrome by Oz » Wed Nov 04, 2009 3:08 am Written by Dec 15, 2005 Two months after diagnosis (Dec 03) and treatment (6 mg of methylprednisolone or Medrol) for my secondary adrenal insufficiency, I thought I'd try adding in pregnenolone (100 mg). After just a month my face got large and several stretch marks on my inner thighs and one on my butt. I don't think I gained much weight if I did. Also had some acne. These are all symptoms of hypercortisolism AKA Cushing's syndrome. On my own I figured out I needed to drop the pregnenolone and about a month later my face went back to it's normal shape, acne disapeared, but the stretch marks of course stayed. I don't remember feeling bad at all. About 6 months later, I decided to try florinef .100 mcg (a max dose) along with the 6 mg of Medrol. About a month later, I developed a stretch mark in the front of the front of my thigh and acne came back but worse than the first time. I had heard that florinef had some glucocorticoid potency before I took it, (Hydrocortisone, prednisone, prednisolone and methylprednisolone are examples of glucocorticoids. Florinef is a mineralcorticoid, helps regulate sodium and potassium) but had sounded to me like the potency was minimal. I did some research and discovered that .100 mcg had the potential glucocorticoid potency of 2 mg of my Medrol, 2 1/2 of prednisone or 10 mg of hydrocortisone (most people don't get the glucocorticoid potency from Florinef and I don't know why this is. From what I've seen of others over the last 3 years, I estimate 1 in 20 people get some glucocorticoid potency and 1 in 100 people get the max potency). So taking the 100 mcg florinef and 6 mg of Medrol was like taking 8 mg of Medrol or 2 mg over the maximum dosage. I lowered my wake Medrol dose from at the time 3 mg to 1 mg to compensate. I was taking the florinef in the morning. I still take florinef and Medrol together. I take .125 mg of Florinef at wake (glucocorticoid potency equivalent to 2 1/2 mg of Medrol) and 1 1/2 mg of Medrol also at wake. I also take 1/2 mg of Medrol at 4pm and 1 1/2 mg Medrol at bedtime. So I am at 6 mg of glucocorticoid potency between the two drugs. Basically, what I've illustrated is that you don't have to take an extremely large dose of cortisol or for very long to develop Cushing's sydrome. Be very careful. Guest guest
When Hertogr said I was gonna get Prednisolone instead of HC I asked " what about medrol? " and he said NO! Prednisolone is better. He said Medrol is synthetic. Pred is better. If I remember correctly. Why would I Get cushings on Pred? 6.5 mg pred should equal 30-35 mg HC. Guest guest
PredniSONE is the one that's rough on the liver and doesn't make sense to use long term. PrednisoLONE and methylprednisolone are safer. Medrol/methylprednisolone is slightly stronger and that's why it comes in 4 mg tablets whilst prednisoLONE comes in 5 mg tablets. Both of these tablets would roughly act like a 20 mg HC pill. For some reason prednisolONE is used much more in the UK and Australia and Medrol is the preferred choice in America. I'm not sure about Europe, but I know Medrol is used as when I was on it I took a European-made name brand. Otherwise, they've very similar. I have to caution that if you have sodium retention issues that switching to the pred family can worsen salt wasting due to loosing the sodium retention that's found in cortisol. I had to raise my Florinef dose quite a bit to avoid salt wasting on a Medrol/HC combo. Besides, cortisol is bioidentical and preds are not. There has to be some reason the body makes cortisol and not Medrol from the adrenal glands. I've seen pred usage being preferred over HC when someone simply did NOT respond to even high doses of HC or just couldn't stand the shorter half-life of cortisol. I had neither problem and tried Medrol/HC combo and found it difficult to adjust to and went back to just HC and like that. Regarding anastrozole, I've felt no significant impact on my adrenal function with it and I'm pretty sensitive to that type of stuff. -Nigel On 1 March 2011 12:51, <gibcast@...> wrote: > > > When Hertogr said I was gonna get Prednisolone instead of HC I asked " what > about medrol? Guest guest
Wait, you are just now feeling 'less than'? Well, you have some catching up to do hehehe... Joking is better than depressing over it. Minor E.D. can be reversed, you know this. One symptom at a time perhaps. Take your tests and wait to see what the results are. Do more research online. Read side effects for high E2 in men and other medical stuff. Get more informed. Ask questions in medical relative forums also. Some have sliding scale fees where you can thread to docs and have them post back to you on their theories. Medhelp is one and a min fee is 9 dollars to ask a ques to a doc. Rest also and be well.
