Guest guest
You mean Dr. Hertoghe right? I had this symptom last time I was at his clinic and told him about he, but I can't recall getting any solution to this. Don't think he even answered me. Last time we talked, like 5-6 days ago, he said: " Start Testosterone gel again, 3/4 pump daily and do a blood test for Testosterone and Estradiol after 10-14 days. " - This dose is less than half of the dose I was on before. Maybe it is the DHEA converting into too much Estradiol, giving me this symptom? I hate it! I was SO happy when it disappeared after I quit taking 2 pumps Testosterone gel daily! But now it's back! I feel very heavy on my eyelids, very. PS! My old specialist who treated me successfully for 10 years with T4/T3, was surprised (!) about my new diagnose: Secondary Hypopituitarism. He is a great hormone doctor, kind of like Hertoghe, but he doesn't treat with anything else than T4/T3, either T4 alone or as a combo. He uses DHEA too, but very rarely. I think he is a bit careful, and tries to tread lightly, so he will not loose his license. He is working alone as a private specialist. The hospitals (public ones) hates him and calls him a hoax-doctor. HE MADE ME HEALTHY 13 YEARS AGO WITH T4 WHEN NO OTHER DOCS WANTED TO GIVE ME ANY MEDS AT ALL!!! They said I was healthy back then (1997) - I was NOT!!! Anyway........... I find it weird and a bit scary when my old specialist, who did full hormone panels for me for 10 years, and like 2-4 times a year, is surprised about my diagnose. He is also WORRIED about my multi-hormonal treatment of 4 to 5 hormones. He got worried about the thick blood issue! I don't think he approves 100% of Hertoghe... > From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> > Subject: Lagging vision? > > Date: Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 9:08 AM > Got this when I started taking 2 > pumps testosterone gel daily. > Then it went away when I quit the gel. > Now it's back again when I take 3/4 pump daily. Guest guest
On avg. a man would need to take over 50 mgs of DHEA more then one time a day to make his Estradiol levels go up. Men with low Estradiol would take 50 mgs 2 to 3x's a day to bring there levels up. How much DHEA are you taking. Guest guest
I was taking 35 mg DHEA (compounded) daily since Early March this year. I quit it due to vibrating legs/body a couple of months ago, then started again with 35 mg every other day due to a below-lowest-range result in the beginning of July, and finally increased back to 35 mg DHEA daily again about 1+ week ago, just before I started testosterone gel again 5 days ago. Hertoghe tells me to take 50 mg once every morning tho. T. Guest guest
I'm starting to think: Maybe I was fine with the DHEA I had naturally prior to starting the DHEA-supplement? My DHEA-Sulfate was a little less than 50% of the range I think. Hertoghe likes to see it in the top range. That's why it was given to me. > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> > > > > > > > Subject: Lagging vision? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Tuesday, September 14, 2010, 9:08 AM > > > > > > > Got this when I started taking 2 > > > > > > > pumps testosterone gel daily. > > > > > > > Then it went away when I quit the gel. > > > > > > > Now it's back again when I take 3/4 pump > daily. Guest guest
My levels were good yet my Dr. told me to take DHEA we all need it and at higher levels. So I went back on it 25 mgs a day. I started having problems with high levels of Estadiol I knew it was the DHEA it was the only change I made. I feel if your not below the normal range you don't need it. In all the yrs. I took DHEA supplements I never felt any better on them. Guest guest
Of course Im on ERFA Thyroid! I started in 1997 with T4, added T3 in 2004 and changed to Dessicated this spring. I only do 2 grains daily, and I might need more! BUT Hertoghe wants me to try Growth Hormone INSTEAD of taking more Thyroid. He says I'll probably need less (!) Thyroid when GH kicks in. Hus plan is to balance 5 hormones: Thyroid, cortisol, testosterone, dhea and Growth Hormone - To take stress off Of Thyroid. T. Guest guest
I use to feel like this until I started taking my HC when I wake up at about 5 to 6 am to go to the bath room. I also take my Thyroid and Testosterone meds then go back to bed. When I get up at 8am I feel better the meds had time to work. Guest guest
I am so sorry your not doing better it takes time. I am about the same yesterday I over did and now that I know with this you can't over do it. Today I am taking it easy I find that by the end of the day I have more pain then in the morning I need to post about this at the new forum I joined. My wife wants me to go in and see my Dr. yet I just talked to both of them and they told me as long as it's getting better keep taking the CoQ10. She thinks I need Psychical Therapy I keep telling her why waste the the time if I can do it. Guest guest
So you actually wake up a few hours early JUST to take the meds? I heard about some people doing this! MAYBE what is happening to me is what VALERIE from the rt3 and naturalthyroid groups told would happen: Taking DHEA lowers cortisol. So maybe I am more HYPOTHYROID now that I take MORE DHEA? Making my cortisol lower? I don't know. Or maybe it's just Testo converting into E2! :-( Either way, I feel very bad, heavy on the head, and eyelids that ONLY want to go down, like I wanna sleep ALL the time, and pressure in the head's going on, with some nice " laggy-vision " which makes it horrible to use the eyes! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Gibcast > <gibcast@...> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Subject: > > > > > > Lagging > > > > > > > vision? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Tuesday, > September > > 14, > > > > > 2010, > > > > > > 9:08 > > > > > > > AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Got this when I > started > > > > > taking 2 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > pumps testosterone > gel > > > > > daily. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Then it went away > when I > > quit > > > > > the > > > > > > gel. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Now it's back again > when > > I > > > > > take > > > > > > 3/4 > > > > > > > pump > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > daily. Guest guest
Well VALERIE if good she helped me a lot she knows a lot about low Cortisol and Thyroid. But this RT3 stuff I don't buy it you need RT3 to rid the body of excess T4. And if your on HC and have good FT3 numbers I can't see how RT3 can be the problem. Every time I do my labs this is every 6 weeks my RT3 is up or down never the same. Even Dr. M feels someone with good FT3 and Total T3 levels RT3 is not a problem. Here is my problem with getting RT3 down I don't know anyone that did this. And went back on there reg. Thyroid meds and It stayed down. Stress can drive up your RT3 you need to work on that stop whats making RT3 go up and it's not a problem. Guest guest
Well, I was doign the rT3-treatment thru a doctor in Finland (my neighbor country! I live in Norway!) for about 3-4 months when I quit because I wanted to try Hertoghe! Initially I felt better on T3-only, but... I had lots of heart issues on it! Less heart issues on ERFA Thyroid. Hertoghe says he's not into the rT3 theory so much himself. He's more into balancing out ALL the hormones; Thyroid, Cortisol, Testosterone, DHEA, Growth Hormone..... He feels if you balance them all out to each other, you will heal! So, in my case, he ignores the rT3, and just goes for his own theory instead. I hope rT3 won't become an issue with me. Maybe I had very high rT3 earlier, due to extreme stress, I don't know. SOMETHING made my FT3 go WAY high (it was at 16.0. The range is 3.5 - 8.3) and it almost killed me! It was PROBABLY adrenals, low cortisol, resulting in EXCESS adrenaline. Which is never good. NOW I don't know. I feel my hormones are way off balance. Worse than they were when I came to Hertoghe. He askes me over and over " Did you start taking GH yet? " and I'm like " I don't dare trying cause, what if I get MORE side-effects and it worsens my overall health, even more? " :-( COMPLICATED!!!!!!!!! My theory, for why I feel so bad right NOW is: Too high E2, either from DHEA or Testo or both! I am one of those who convert into E2! Not good. :-( > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Gibcast > > > <gibcast@...> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Subject: > > > > > > > > > > > > Lagging > > > > > > > > > > > vision? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: > Tuesday, > > > September > > > > 14, > > > > > > > > > 2010, > > > > > > > > > > 9:08 > > > > > > > > > > > AM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Got this when > I > > > started > > > > > > > > > taking 2 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > pumps > testosterone > > > gel > > > > > > > > > daily. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Then it went > away > > > when I > > > > quit > > > > > > > > > the > > > > > > > > > > gel. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Now it's back > again > > > when > > > > I > > > > > > > > > take > > > > > > > > > > 3/4 > > > > > > > > > > > pump > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > daily. Guest guest
My Dr. is a lot like your Dr. and a lot like Dr. about RT3 he feels you need to address why it's to high and fix that in my case it was Sugery. He told me it might take my body a few yrs to go back to normal. Men on T3 only meds end up with very high levels of SHBG this binds up there Testosterone and there Free Testosterone levels drop on meds or not. High SHBG kills the good Testosterone does for your body. Guest guest
When I came to Hertoghe I was on T3-only, and had been so for 3+ months.
