Guest guest
Look at this Phil: http://nightrangerweb.net/health/RomanPaisLaboratory11thofFebruary2010_1.p\ df.JPG Somehow, the Belgian laborator which Hertoghe uses has a higher upper range on both Hemoglobine and Hematocrite. WEIRD, or what? According to THOSE ranges, I don't have very thick blood or a lot of it. Take a look at the top of that scan! That sample is from February 2010, and was the first blood sample I did before seeing Dr. Hertoghe the first time. I am talking about my Hematocrite TODAY and my Hemoglobin TODAY, compared to the ranges on that test! Testosterone: Let's look at the Bottom Half of this scan ok? http://nightrangerweb.net/health/RomanPaisLaboratory11thofFebruary2010_2.p\ df.JPG It's written in English so it's easy to understand. My FREE Testosterone was at 153 pg/mL before starting TRT. The range is: 50 - 280 pg/mL. Hertoghe said that for a man my age, 31, I should be somewhere towards the upper range, 280. Well, on the next blood test he did with me in June 2010, while ON TRT, my FREE Testosterone was at 615 pg/mL and like twice the upper range level! Hertoghe was happy with it but also said that my real level was probably a bit lower cause I didn't follow his directions of swithing from applying the gel in the morning, to doing it in the evening 3 nights before the blood test (this is his system!) - I only applied the gel in the evening 2 nights before the blood draw. Looking at this first test again, on the bottom half of the scan, my TOTAL testosterone, which is Testosterone + SHBG, right? (Please confirm this is how they calculate the TOTAL!) - I was at 95.6% which is great! I have always (!) had a high TOTAL. Always. Some docs say the TOTAL is what matters. But Hertoghe says S-Testosterone (what is that btw?) and FREE Testosterone is what matters, not the TOTAL. My S-Testosterone, whatever that is, was at 3467 pg/mL in February. In June, while on TRT, it had gone up to 9851 pg/mL. The range is 3000 - 10.000 pg/mL. Btw my E2 was 12 pg/mL in February, on the second test in June it had gone up to 25 pg/mL. The range is <30 pg/mL. So, what do you think, buddy? Did I need TRT? > From: <gibcast@...> > Subject: Re: Re: Stopping 200 mg testo cold turkey > " " < > > Date: Saturday, August 14, 2010, 11:02 AM > He said I would Keep taking T gel on > my own responsibility. Guest guest
To all concerned:     I speak from experience on this one because I had the same problem. First, you need a new Doctor. If your readings are that high, the only quick effective way to get it down is to give a blood donation. It is not worth a stroke. On my doctors orders, I stopped the testosterone and gave blood every two weeks for about 8 weeks to get my blood levels down. My doctor wanted to get me back on testosterone, but said I would have to continue to give blood frequently in order to take testosterone. Due to the frequency, he has to give you a prescription to give blood as usually you can't give blood every 2 weeks without a good reason. High hemoglobin and a high hematocrit are good reasons.   I believe they call the practice phlebotomy. In some people, testosterone causes secondary polycythemia, which can be serious if left untreated.  My Doctor referred me to an endocrinologist as I don't want to give blood every two weeks just to stay on testosterone.                                         \                                      Good luck,  Bob V. ________________________________ From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> Sent: Sat, 14 August, 2010 17:52:06 Subject: Re: Re: Stopping 200 mg testo cold turkey  It's ok! :-) Hey I found this link regarding what's normal for Hematocrit and Hemoglobin... http://www.buzzle.com/articles/hematocrit-and-hemoglobin.html So up to 18 is normal for Hemoglobin? Guest guest
First off.... GET RID OF WIFE. Then find another doctor and drop salt. You can donate blood and help keep your blood numbers in check. Guest guest
Joe your on a blood thinner had still have thicker blood I don't know but this might not be a problem with being on Test C shots. You need to ask your Dr. stopping TRT is not fun but if your Dr. wants to do this at leaset if you feel real bad he knows about what your doing. Guest guest
Hi Joe, I sometimes get dizzy when my estradiols are too high. High estradiols cause fluid retention and my doctors can see fluid in my ears when this happens. When I increased my dosage of Arimidex, the dizziness went away. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of inc_100 Sent: Monday, August 16, 2010 12:57 PM Subject: Re: Stopping 200 mg testo cold turkey Hello Phil, Barb and all others, I need your suggestion please. I called Red Cross and wanted to schedule an appointment to donate blood and they asked me if I am taking any blood thinners and I told I am taking " NattoKainese " (blood thinner) and they said I cant donate blood. I stopped my regular dose of 160mg evey ten days of Test Cyp about a month ago and started on 60mg of Test Cyp every week. (kind of lowered my dose). I also scheduled an appointment with my doctor again this week. Can I stop taking Testo Cyp for a while and see if my blood thickness will eventually go down to normal ? But I feel kind of dizzy and wondering if I have any issues with any thick blood. What do you think are my options. Guest guest
Yes same thing with me my joints even hold water and I can bend my little finger. I even get water in my ears but I never figured being dizzy when I get up was this. And I feel your right they have cut my BP meds and I still get a little dizzy when I stand and my Estradiol levels have been on the high side lately. Guest guest
My Vitamin D was also in the gutter. My symptoms were flushing in the face (red), swollen and painful lower legs and feet. You can look up the typical symptom on the internet. Just Google it. I am also taking a thyroid pill. All of this is connected with each other. I went to a cardiologist and threadmill stress test and also echo cardiogram looked good. My bloodtests revealed that my vit D is low and also my Homocystine levels are borderline high so my doc put me on vit d and also B6,B12,Folic acid supplementation. I am also Hypothyroid and am on Synthroid 88mcg. He did not check for Hemoglobin etc What do you think about my condition ? I lowered my Test Cyp to 60mg every week. Guest guest
To all concerned: Not all blood banks are the same. If you have a medical condition and have a doctor's prescription to have blood drawn, a decent blood bank will draw your blood and dispose of it. This is done as a public service... Some blood banks will not do it as their standard of humanity is rather narrow, so it pays to go to more than one blood bank. A Drs. prescription will resolve a lot of problems. ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Mon, 16 August, 2010 14:59:22 Subject: Re: Re: Stopping 200 mg testo cold turkey Good Idea even I am having a hard time keeping up so many are posting about this problem. Guest guest
One improvement after stopping TRT: I noticed today that my vision is not " lagging " anymore. When I turned my head, while on TRT, I had a " lower frame rate " (tech-junkies will understand what I mean) than normal. Now, everything is smooth and I can move my head and vision quickly from side to side without having my eyes catch every item on the way, hanging briefly before letting go. I don't get it. Is TRT that bad? I feel better when I don't take the testosterone gel! Better libido! Better everything!
