Guest guest
post some labs if you know them. > > my husband who is 54 was prescribed androgel a week and a half ago but hasnt started it because i was trying to convince the endo dr to test his estradiol levels first from the info i got here. Well, she doesnt believe that he has that problem. She wont do it. So, should i just let him start the androgel....he is just SO tired all the time and sometimes sweating with hotflashes & seems kinda rundown,,,Im not kidding but... he just looks like hes aging before my eyes. Should he just start the androgel? I dont know what else to do. > > Thanks, > Mysticgrl >
Guest guest
You don't need his Dr. to test his Estradiol levels go to this link. The test is $44.00 if your a member it's $33.00. You can get a discount on joining them by going to Dr. 's site and getting the free complimentary 12-month subscription to Life Extension magazine then when you order tests they will offer you a discount to join. www.allthingsmale.com Here is a link to the test. http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/ItemLC004515/Estradiol-Blood-Test.html Co-Moderator Phil > From: mysticgrl77 <mystic_pizza7@...> > Subject: ques...androgel > > Date: Monday, February 15, 2010, 1:46 PM > my husband who is 54 was prescribed > androgel a week and a half ago but hasnt started it because > i was trying to convince the endo dr to test his estradiol > levels first from the info i got here. Guest guest
If I were him, I'd start the TRT. how many refills does he have? I'd find another doctor in the mean time. maybe this has already been suggested to you, there is a list of docs that are supposed to be up on hrt. maybe there is one somewhat close to you. > > my husband who is 54 was prescribed androgel a week and a half ago but hasnt started it because i was trying to convince the endo dr to test his estradiol levels first from the info i got here. Guest guest
I would start the androgel and look for another Dr. Keep in mind that if the androgel helps, it will only last about 2 weeks. At that time his body will quit making what ever it currently is and be dependent solely on the gel which for most men the initial dose is not enough. In the mean time, call around and talk to various GP or urologist or DO and ask them if they treat men with hormone therapy. If they say yes, ask them if they have ever prescribed arimides or HCG to men. If the answer is no, go to the next Dr. and try again. If all else fails, which I do not recommend this, you can treat your self by ordering arimidex at all day chemist and prescribe it to your self as Phil has written about numerous times.
