Why the 5 mg at bedtime? Wouldn't this worsen sleep? A bedtime dose of

cortisol seems to oppose the normal pattern of melatonin in reducing cortisol

and helping one to sleep.

Hi good to see you make it here and welcome,

Cortef is much stronger then the generic brands I needed more when I was on the

generic HC. If I were you I would just do the generic band it's working for you

and you know the dose you feel best at.

If your going to try Cortef your going to need to lower the dose and mess around

with it until you find the best dose. I know I can't sleep taking more the 2.5

mgs at bedtime. I don't take any at bedtime unless I am having problems with my

sugar going to low.

Phil,

yes it is strange b/c a year ago when i started generic hc i could never get my

temps to stablize, but i did get good results form bedtime dose. Before i would

wake up hypoglycemic all the time, that fixed it.

but even 50mg of generic hc didn't stablize temps and i don't need florinef so i

went to 30mg cortef and temps stabilized. but on that much I don't sleep at

all. Should I go waaaay loer on cortef? how low?

Yes try talking less at bedtime I break them in half try 2.5 mgs at bedtime.

The pharmacy gave me generic and i did not know it and all of sudden I started

to crash hard in 3 days and could not figure what is was. It was the generic

cortef. I can not take generic of anything.

what really is messing with me is that when I first started generic OR Cortef I

would finally feel good waking up (first time in 28 years) and now on almost the

same dosage I is impossbile for me to wake up again.

I wake up at 5am still like I did when I worked so I take my meds 10 mgs of

Cortef and Armour with my Testosterone or HCG shots and go back to bed doing

this when I get up at 8am I feel dam good.
