Guest guest
So what's new it all over the place for all men your not taking anything to keep it in check and that test .18 nmol/L if very high it's at the top of the range for a women we keep going over and over and over this. Lab 1 .11 nmol/L is 110 pmol/L and is 31 pg/ml. the lab at 0.08 nmol is 80 pmol/l and is about 22 pg/ml good. 69 pg/ml then having them do it over again much later I don't buy 40 or anything the did over after you blood was sitting around in there lab. All men on trt or off trt don't get the same E2 levels from test to test. Men on TRT like myself taking arimidex will be close to the same number but we are controlling it with Arimidex. Estradiol is all around us in the food we eat the water we drink in the air we breathe. Guest guest
Ok. I know bottled water, plastic bottles, have E2 in them. I qill have to quit buying those. I just started buying VOSS spring water in glass bottles over here. I will stick to those, even if they cost a lil bit extra. I always mix my one bottle of water with sea salt, and I will do it in the glass bottle from now on. E2 labs are interesting cause, in the first 10 years of Hypothyroidism treatment with Synthetic T4 and T3, my doc back then (kind of a Hertoghe-like guy!) always measyred E2 and so on. And I never looked at the results, til 2008 when I started getting really sick. SO, looking at the old blood sample results from 2007 and down til 1997 when I first started treating Thyroid, I can see that mostly E2 was fine, like midrange or whatever, but sometimes, it was in the top of the range. It was never above it though. Maybe the changing E2 was really affecting how I felt back then, like, sometimes I felt a lil bit worse than other times, and maybe it was E2 all along. It sure is interesting to learn about hormones! Right now I just feel plain horrible. I will start taking " Rinexin " tablets and the " Nasonex " nasal spray. Rinexin is forbidden in the States (I believe some people died from using it) but I have used it before so I will try it now - It will reduce swollenness inside the nose and sinuses. The " Nasonex " is a corticosterois spray for the nose, which will do the same. So I hope I will survive taking these two - I have been using them before. But not while I have been on HC, and other hormones. I will try to get in touch with Hertoghe on Monday or Tuesday, and ask him if it's ok that I start taking Arimidex. He will probably say yes. Right now my Total T is at 23.1 pmol/l (8.0 - 35.0 nmol/l) - I had that EXACT same number wile I was NOT on TRT, but while on optimal thyroid, about 3 years ago, before the stupid Endo's started weening me off all Thyroid meds. What does that tell you, Phil? I feel like.. If I wasn't taking TR, my E2 would've been fine. OR, maybe it's DHEA that's the culprit in converting Testosteroner into E2????? Maybe I just need to stop taking DHEA, and E2 will be fine? > From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> > Subject: My many E2 results: Arimidex or not? > > Date: Friday, January 28, 2011, 2:08 PM > Ok, let's look at my E2 results from > November til today, all blood was > drawn at 11 am, fasting, only with HC taken before the > blood draw: > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > 18th of November 2010: > 0.11 (<0.18) - NOTE: Seems fine! > > Lab 3 (Belgium): > 18th of December 2010: > E2: 69 pg/mL (<30 pg/mL) - NOTE: This is suddenly very, > very high! > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > > 13th of January 2011: > > E2: 0.08 (<0.18 nmol/l) - NOTE: I did this test to > " confirm " my E2 was high as in the previous test above, but > the result was NORMAL. Guest guest
I was on Nasonex for yrs until I found out I have low Cortisol levels. Every winter I would be sick as a dog with sines infections and Bronchitics. Going on HC meds I don't have them problems anymore. Don't buy water in Plastic bottles get a water filter use it and put your water in a glass or stainless steel canteen. I use Brita for this. http://www.brita.com/?locale=us & gclid=CJ6a0orl36YCFVln5QodCTD_0w yes as you see in your old labs E2 goes all over the place. I got my canteen here. http://www.kleankanteen.com/ Co-Moderator Phil > > > > > From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> > > > Subject: My many E2 results: Arimidex > or not? > > > > > > Date: Friday, January 28, 2011, 2:08 PM > > > Ok, let's look at my E2 results from > > > November til today, all blood was > > > drawn at 11 am, fasting, only with HC taken before > the > > > blood draw: > > > > > > > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > > > 18th of November 2010: > > > 0.11 (<0.18) - NOTE: Seems fine! > > > > > > Lab 3 (Belgium): > > > 18th of December 2010: > > > E2: 69 pg/mL (<30 pg/mL) - NOTE: This is suddenly > very, > > > very high! > > > > > > > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > > > > > > 13th of January 2011: > > > > > > E2: 0.08 (<0.18 nmol/l) - NOTE: I did this test to > > > " confirm " my E2 was high as in the previous test > above, but > > > the result was NORMAL. Guest guest
I stopped drinking from plastic bottles yesterday. I bought a glass bottle of VOSS water (as I live in Norway it's not so expensive as it is in the US!) and fill that with clean tap water (we don't need to rinse it, it's amazingly clean, like from a spring!) and add sea salt to it. With so many things removed from my diet, it's weird how I live on! I only eat meat and sald now, plus drink water. No fruit cause I am worried about getting diabetes. No sugar. No carbs. Wow. My diet is super-boring! I wonder about E2 and Arimidex. > > > > > From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> > > > Subject: My many E2 results: Arimidex > or not? Guest guest
I'd wonder if your elevated estraidol is from the DHEA. You may wish to consider DHEA cream as it doesn't seem to go to estradiol like the tablets do (including sublingual). My experience concurs with that as long as I apply the DHEA to areas that have muscle and avoid thin skin. -Nigel On 28 January 2011 17:07, Gibcast <gibcast@...> wrote: > > > I feel like.. Guest guest
Now that is nuts not to eat fruit thinking it will give you diabetes. Guest guest
You can avoid some but it will always be around in the air you breath and food you eat no matter what. Guest guest
Eating No carbs is also very very bad for you. My buddy did the atkins diet with no carbs and yes his body did loose weight but it was in starvation mode. When he began to eat healthy again his body saw the carbs and added double the weight he had before. Since his body was " starving " for so long his body put on extra fat thinking it may starve again. Eat your carbs man! As long as they are good carbs from whole grains they are good for your brain, body and probably hormones! Plus if you are worried about diabetes then eat your fruit! The natural levels of sugar in fruit is likely a lot better for you than the processed sugar from snacky foods. Guest guest
My problem is today rising insulin in serum. I had it in my teens before I got into T4-treatment and working out, and while it went away back then, and stayed good for 10 years, it's back now... :-( Â I am super-worried about carbs now. I try to avoid fruits. I never touch sugar anymore. I try to walk at least 1 hr daily. Â What else can I do? Yes, eat smaller meals more often. Â From: hardasnails1973 <hardasnails1973@...> Subject: Re: My many E2 results: Arimidex or not? Date: Monday, January 31, 2011, 7:49 PM Â if a person body can not handle the oxidative stress from <30 grams of carbs a day then they are opening the door to prediabetes, other hormone issues, thyroid issues. I have seen it happen many times to few freinds of mine. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Subject: My many E2 results: > > > Arimidex > > > > > > > or not? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, January 28, 2011, 2:08 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Ok, let's look at my E2 results from > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > November til today, all blood was > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > drawn at 11 am, fasting, only with HC taken > > > before > > > > > > > the > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > blood draw: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > 18th of November 2010: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > 0.11 (<0.18) - NOTE: Seems fine! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lab 3 (Belgium): > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > 18th of December 2010: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > E2: 69 pg/mL (<30 pg/mL) - NOTE: This is > > > suddenly > > > > > > > very, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > very high! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > 13th of January 2011: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > E2: 0.08 (<0.18 nmol/l) - NOTE: I did this > > > test to > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > " confirm " my E2 was high as in the previous test > > > > > > > above, but > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > the result was NORMAL. Guest guest
I am told not to eat sugar, gluten, diary, all carbs. So I am basically just eating meat, fish, chicken with salad and dirnking water. I do sin sometimes and eat cheese. I love cheese. > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> > > > > > > > Subject: My many E2 results: > Arimidex > > > or not? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, January 28, 2011, 2:08 PM > > > > > > > Ok, let's look at my E2 results from > > > > > > > November til today, all blood was > > > > > > > drawn at 11 am, fasting, only with HC taken > before > > > the > > > > > > > blood draw: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > > > > > > > 18th of November 2010: > > > > > > > 0.11 (<0.18) - NOTE: Seems fine! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lab 3 (Belgium): > > > > > > > 18th of December 2010: > > > > > > > E2: 69 pg/mL (<30 pg/mL) - NOTE: This is > suddenly > > > very, > > > > > > > very high! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > > > > > > > > > > > > > > 13th of January 2011: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > E2: 0.08 (<0.18 nmol/l) - NOTE: I did this > test to > > > > > > > " confirm " my E2 was high as in the previous test > > > above, but > > > > > > > the result was NORMAL. Guest guest
You are on the Adkins diet. 3 oz cheese per day is OK. I just started the diet under Dr orders to loose 85 pounds to get below 200. In two weeks I have lost 20 pounds. He said this would help with ED & high blood pressure. > > I am told not to eat sugar, gluten, diary, all carbs. So I am basically just eating meat, fish, chicken with salad and dirnking water. Guest guest
atkins diet is the worse diet one can go on. There needs to be severe modification done in order for this dr to be safe. If your Dr put you on atkins diet then it should draw a huge red flag, but put you in the grave alot faster. your muscle to fat loose will be completely opposite resulting in decrease of Lean body mass and metablism. This is ass backwards thinking. > > > > I am told not to eat sugar, gluten, diary, all carbs. So I am basically just eating meat, fish, chicken with salad and dirnking water. Guest guest
The diet Dr. Hertoghe tells patients to eat (he uses it himself as well) is called the Paleolithic Diet. Â All I remember off of the top of my head is no sugar, no diary, no gluten (but I think the gluten-part is not needed, it's just something I am choosing myself, to be sure gluten is not causing issues for me!), no fruits with high GI. NO MODERN CARBS. No gluten-free bread either, cause they're high carb. Â So basically this means eating cow, sheep, pig, chicken, fish, a whole lot of salad. A few fruits, but not often. And drinking water. Â Is it really that bad, hardasnails? Â I do have insulin resistance at the moment (while on optimal Thyroid 1997-2007 I didn't have it!) and need to be careful with carbs. Guest guest
There has been a war on fat for the past 30 years or so here in the U.S., since then obesity and diabetes has sky rocketed. Everyone removed fat and added in carbs, usually processed carbs, and its made us all sicker in the process. I am not saying that you should eat all fat and protein and no carbs, but calling Atkins the worst diet you can go on is misguided as well. I am not an expert on Atkins, but I believe the true form of it has lots of vegetables and even some fruits in it, so its not totally carb free and is similar to the paleo diet. There is an induction phase where you have virtually no carbs, but that is not the total plan but unfortunetly everyone seems to stick at that point. I personally tend to lean more towards the paleo diet with a few exceptions, somewhat like this: http://www.healthhabits.ca/stuff-i-like/a-paleo-diet-for-the-21st-century/ I don't follow this way of eating currently, but its where I want to end up. One other side note, eating meat is good, but eating hormone/anitbiotic injected meat is not so good. I opt for grass fed non-hormonal meat always. Guest guest
I was avoiding fruits since 1997 when I got diagnoes with " some kind of Hypothyroidism " and was put on T4. I had an AMAZING 10 years (having sex up to 9 hrs with 9 orgasms during those 9 hours, without even stopping once! hahaha! memories!) - Then in 2008 my while life went down the drain when Endo's removed my T3, and tried to slowly ween me off my T4-meds. So, I've been having digestion issues (i guess) and stool problems (clearly!) for 3+ years now, but it started before the Endo's tried to ween me OFF OF my Thyroid meds. SO, as a precautionary move, I stopped eating gluten ON MY OWN. I have also heard that Hypo people have issues with gluten, so why not. I sure miss eating gluten-things, and especially dark bread, stuff that's supposed to be healthy. Anyway. Dunno what to do. Maybe I should add in gluten again and see what happens? STOPPING GLUTEN DID _NOT_ FIX MY BOWEL/STOOL ISSUE!!!! - They are still too soft, too pale, too undigested etc.  PS! I only started eating " lots " of fruits after Hertoghe said it improves Thyroid. So I did that since March 2010 til December 2010 when I saw my blood sugar raise up to like 15 about 2-3 hours after eating. NOT A GOOD NUMBER. It should be between 4 and 6 mmol/l when not eating. This is due to my insulin resistance and high serum insulin at the moment.  > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: Gibcast <gibcast@...> > > > > > > > > > > > Subject: My many E2 results: > > Arimidex > > > > > or not? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, January 28, 2011, 2:08 PM > > > > > > > > > > > Ok, let's look at my E2 results from > > > > > > > > > > > November til today, all blood was > > > > > > > > > > > drawn at 11 am, fasting, only with HC taken > > before > > > > > the > > > > > > > > > > > blood draw: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > > > > > > > > > > > 18th of November 2010: > > > > > > > > > > > 0.11 (<0.18) - NOTE: Seems fine! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lab 3 (Belgium): > > > > > > > > > > > 18th of December 2010: > > > > > > > > > > > E2: 69 pg/mL (<30 pg/mL) - NOTE: This is > > suddenly > > > > > very, > > > > > > > > > > > very high! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lab 1 (Norway): > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > 13th of January 2011: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > E2: 0.08 (<0.18 nmol/l) - NOTE: I did > this > > test to > > > > > > > > > > > " confirm " my E2 was high as in the previous > test > > > > > above, but > > > > > > > > > > > the result was NORMAL. Guest guest
I test my fasting glucose about every other week. It's either a bit too low at 3.8 mmol/l or in the middle at 5.0 mmol/l or close to top range at 5.8 mmol/l. The range is 4 -Â 6 mmol/l. So this means my glucose is unstable and changing all the time, which again means I have high insulin and insulin resistance. That's why I am choosing to be a bit careful with sugar - I am not eating any sugar anymore; And I am cutting down on fruit. And eating smaller meals. I try to eat every 2-3 hours, small meals. Guest guest
I eat meat and eggs.No fruits,vegatables and only drink water.Approximately 80% fat,20% protein and neglible carbs.Been doing this strictly for over 2 years.Went from over 270 to 195.Very muscular although i never touch weights.My lipids are excellent.Far cry from when I was eating a low fat diet.My internist just shakes his head and says he doesn't understand it but keep doing it.I treat myself as a type 1 diabetic with no access to insulin.Works for me but most won't or can't tolerate it.I eat for fuel not as something to enjoy or socialize over. Get about as excited over a meal as going to gas station to tank up.Phil > > > > > > > > I am told not to eat sugar, gluten, diary, all carbs. Guest guest
Think about what you just said glucose is your sugar levels and after you eat they go up they never stay the same from hr. to hr. When I took care of my Mother in Law I had to test her sugar levels at times ever 2 hrs. She was on a med to keep it down but the levels were never the same from each time I checked them. I asked her Dr. about this and he said as long as her levels were not high just before a meal she was fine.
