Guest guest
, Alot of dr's just focus on one hormone instead of all of them. When one is out it will affect the rest in some form or another. You need to find a competent specialist who deals with these issues. I help h run a clinic that deal with these issues. If you are interested email me hardasnails1973@.... TRT needs to be properly modulating to get the desired the results. Every one is different. Once the proper levels are reached it will take a good 4-6 months to repair a the tissue levels but the effect can be felt immediately. The practioner needs to be aware of who estrogen, thyroid, adrenals can affect the TRT protocol. When they focus on one thing forgetting the others is when people spend 10 years of more chasing their tails wondering what was wrong and end up on antidepressants meds. IMO i think antidepressants are over rated and if the Dr would look into the person as whole rather then bits and pieces they would find the cause. YOu just need a good tune up is all ..Fee free to contact me. > > Sorry bother you, mainly because my english is not good. Thanks in advance for your comprension. > I' m 48 years old. FOR OVER 10 YEARS I HAVE SUFFERED LACK OF LIBIDO AND ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION. I've never been in recreational drugs. My sexual problems began suddenly after have sex with a girl who suggested me to put a bit of cocaine on the glans of my penis in order not cum too soon. Unfortunately I let she did it and also made the mistake of having sex without protection. Next day my libido and erection capacity disappeared and an infection affected my urinary tract or my prostate, so every 5-10 minutes I had urgency to urinate but only some drops coming out. My penis got too smal, like if blood not flowing into it, and the glans got totally numb. I had a severe pain in the perineum and lost the capacity of voluntary contraction of muscles in this area. A family doctor prescribed me antibiotics and viagra without ordering any blood or urine test. Antibiotics beat the infection, but Viagra did nothing to fix my sexual problems. I went from > doctor to doctor until I got tired cuz all of them merely prescribed me viagra. I gave up for some years. In 2008 I could save enough money to consult an endocrinologist and pay the expensive lab tests. Everything was OK except my testosterone that was border line low. The endo referred me to a prestigious urologist to examine my prostate. I was told that most likely my lack of libido and erection dysfunction are due to my low testosterone, so urologist put me on TRT 100 ng/dl test cyp every week and Viagra. > I've been in TRT for six months. In October my T level was 750, but I don't know what is my bioavailable T. I had high expectations TRT bring my libido back, but until now results are desappointing. My sexual desire still dead and the glans of my penis still numb (no sensations). I have erections only with manual stimulation, but most times they are weak and not lasting regardless I take a 100 mg Viagra pill.. When my wood get really hard and have sex, the intercourse ain't last more than 5 minutes 'cause I feel nothing and lack of sensation makes I loss the erection. Oral sex makes no difference cuz touch my glans is like touch the fingertips. However, in September something strange happened: during two days I felt those great pleasurable sensations caused by contractions of muscles in the perineum. Sexual desire was back and while it was there I had not problems to get erections and orgasms. Noticed I had some pain in the perineal muscles when > they contracting, but it was not so bad. I think that pain is sign that something is bad in that area. Sadly my libido disappeared again the same way it came back, from one day to another. > My next appointment with my urologist is Nov.18, so I need your opinion and advice concerning the following questions: > 1).- How long does it take for TRT start to show results? What is the right size of the needle to apply the shots and what is the most apropriate part of the body to apply them? > 3).- Given its known side effects, is it worth to continue TRT despite it does not help to improve my libido? > 4).- I feel frustrated 'cause my doctor don't listen to me when I say that my main problem is lack of libido. I have seen clearly that when my sex drive is there I have not problems to get arousal, erections and orgasms. What I must to do for he pay more atention on libido issues and less in erectile dysfunction?.Viagra is not working. > 5.- Finally, and this is my main question, do you think is time to consult a neurologist?. I always have thought the pudendal nerve of my penis is damaged 'cause the cocaine applied on the glans and/or for the infection I got. Guest guest
Hi and Welcome, I get this question all the time and feel in your case and I am not a Dr. that you need to test your Estradiol E2 levels if to high your libido goes way down you get ED, have a problem reaching an orgasm, feel anxiety even feelings of panic, Feel hot and sweat, Bad Brain fog, your prostate can get enlarged with slow voiding, look red on your upper body and face and even get rashes on your body. As for using Cocaine on your penis it will have a numbing sensation but it can hide the burning sensation of whatever they used to cut the Cocaine with this might be why you got the infection. A lot is on google about doing this. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en & lr= & q=cocaine+on+the+glans+of+my+penis+ & aq=f & \ oq= & aqi= I don't feel this was the cause of your low Testosterone and when you say your doing a shot of 100 ng/dl of test cyp don't you mean 100 mgs ng/dl is the units of a lab test for Total T. To answer your questions 1). Your levels are up good but what happens is if your E2 levels are high this can make your SHBG levels high and this binds up all the Testosterone in your body do it dose not work or do the job you need it to do. 2). I use a small 27g 1ml x 1/2 " lg. needle and shoot into my thigh. Then Test Cyp. oil comes out of the vial slow so I just pull the plunger all the way down and hold it until I get my dose this can take 2 to 3 min.'s but shooting this way there is not pain and it works great. 3). If you do TRT the right way there are no side effects. You need to get your Total T levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range. And you need to keep your Estradiol E2 levels down to about 20 pg/ml. Doing this you get back your night time and morning wood. This tells you your at your best levels. In time your libido will come back up. 4). After you get leveled good and keep your E2 levels down you might find your ED will be gone but when you go to have sex the worry of it staying up will kill it so if you can get some Cialis 20 mgs taking this every 3 days will help you get past this and in time you will not need it. It is dam hard to take Viagra everyday and Cialis will work 3 days. 5). No but if you find your leveled off and have your E2 levels down and still have this problem say after 6 months then yes see a neurologist. Here are some links about Testosterone and Estradiol levels. http://www.smart-drugs.com/ias-estrogen.htm http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html http://www.medibolics.com/ArimidexBoostsTestosterone.htm http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2008/nov2008_Dangers-of-Excess-Estrogen-in-the-Ag\ ing-Male_01.htm And I tell all men to have there Adrenals and Thyroid checked there is a lot of men with low T that have this problem. http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/ And go to Dr. 's site www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG update he puts this out there free for you and your Dr. he is one of the best Hormone Dr.'s out there. In this are labs you should have had done. Guest guest
Do have other labs - my thinking is you should be on injections - did he prescribe hcg as well as Testim > > I had been suffering from the symptoms of lowT for a year or two and finally got my T tested a few weeks ago.I found out that I was a victim of extremely low T, 32 and have been on Testim 5 gm for 5 days with no significant changes that I can feel. I have one shrunken and one mushy testicle which were probably fried when I had a temp of 107 back a year or two ago. My urologist says there is little hope for either on at producing T for the rest of my life. He had never seen such a low T before. I have been taking propanalol 60 mg and cozaar 50 mg for high blood pressure and lovastatin 40 mg for cholesterol. I wonder if they are contributing factors to the low T. I took a levitra last night and it was completely useless. I may as well have just drunk a glass of water. It is very frustrating and makes me wonder if there is any hope. Am I just too impatient or should I be experiencing some revitalization by now? Only symptoms I get are a little warmer feeling and tightness in chest. I have been thinking of taking two doses to see if that would give me a boost to jump start my T. I don't want to do it if it would be just wasting the Testim as it is quite expensive. I also would like to find out if 5 mg is a sufficient dose. Should I be contacting my urologist to see if he could do a shot to get me some immediate relief or just be patient? >
Guest guest
Hi gjvr2001 and Welcome, First thing can you get a copy of your labs and post them. Your levels can be this low I have seen this before mine were 120. If your Pituitary is not telling your Testis to make enough T your levels will get this low and your testis will get very small from not working a high fever can damage your pituitary. Mine is damaged from a head injury. As for taking lovastatin I would not take it after I had heart bypass sugary the put me on this crap and it made my joints and muscles sore. I kept telling my Dr.'s about this and they kept telling me to keep exercising and eating a Heart smart diet. A heart smart diet is low fat. Being on Statin drugs lowers your CoQ10 levels and not having enough fat in your diet damages your muscles even more. My Dr.'s would not listen to me until last Sept. I hit bottom I could not stand up or walk. I now need a walker to do this. Now my Dr.'s know all about what is doing this and took me off statin drugs and are treating me with a huge about of supplements to get my muscle to come back. So you have a heart problem they put you on Statin Drugs and there is no proof out there they work. Tell me to Exercise on them drugs all this did was do more damage and eating a low fat diet add to the mix. So if I were you I would read up on this Statin Drugs muscle damage you don't need this crap on top of everything you how wrong now. http://www.healthy-heart-guide.com/lovastatin-side-effects.html As for you BP levels my Heart Dr. has me taking 5 mgs / day of Cialis to keep my BP down and it's great for my heart and helps with ED problems. If you get your Testosterone levels up pasted mid range and keep your Estraidol levels down to about 20 pg/ml you would do much better and your BP might come back down. Low levels of T stress out our body big time. The dose of Gel your on is a starting dose most men need more to feel better most do 10 grams per day. I don't do gels anymore I don't feel good on them I do Test C shots every 3 days and I use HCG the day before my Test C shot. I keep my levels of TT up into the 800's to feel good some men do good in the 600's. Go to Dr. s site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG update he puts this out there free for you and your Dr. his is about the best hormone Dr. out there. www.allthingsmale.com You need to do labs after you start geld in 2 weeks to tell if they are working some men don't do good on them it can't get through there skin. The best levels I ever got were in the 500's on 10 grams of gel. When you go to do labs get up in the morning take a good shower making sure you have all the gel off your body. Then go do your labs first before putting on the gel. If you put on the gel first it can spike up your labs very high. The testosterone from the gel stays just under your skin feeding your body slow for about 4 to 6 hrs so taking blood can pull in some of the Testosterone from under your skin and spike up your levels. If you can't do labs in the morning put the gel on keeping it off the area they take your blood from and do the labs after 6 hrs. Guest guest
Hi gjvr2001 and Welcome, If your saying your FSH and LH were high before you started on Testim it means your Testis are not working and your Pituitary is trying to tell them to make more T. If this is the case you need to see an Uro. and get checked out for your Prostate and Testis make sure you don't have some thing wrong. Going a this starting dose you need to get your levels checked again in 2 weeks read this file I made. =============================================== Starting on Androgel or Testim. Yes this happens a lot you start on a low starting dose 5 grams when your brain sees the testosterone in your blood even just a little it slows down even stops sending the LH and FSH message to your testis to make the Testosterone you were making. So lets say your labs for Total T were 350 you add this dose of gel your brain sees this and you lose the base level you had before the gel. Now lets say you need more then 5 grams most do so now all your left with is what the gel is doing so lets say it's doing 200 so you lost 150. The reason you feel good is your levels go up that 200 the gel is doing in the first 2 weeks so your levels go up to 550 in theory. The brain sees this and you fall back. Why can this happen it might be how your putting on the gel with Androgel you need to spread it over your upper arms and shoulders and down your back as far as you can reach this is half of your dose then do the other side. Just spread it over the area but don't rub it in. The other thing is it's not getting through your skin good so you need more. If you have a thyroid problem your skin will become thicker and gels and creams don't get through the skin and you need to switch to shots. I tell men when they go on Gels to retest in 2 weeks because you can end up feeling worse. Most men just need more gel. Dr.'s that tell men to go on 5 grams of gel and come back in 8 to 12 weeks for labs don't know much about the use of gels. Dr.'s that treat a lot of men for low T on gels see this happen and test them again in 2 weeks. When you go to do labs get up and shower that morning go do your labs and then put in the gel after your blood test so you don’t spike up your labs. If you can’t do labs in the morning shower put on the gel but don’t get any gel on the spot they take the blood from. Do your labs about 6 hrs later. Call your Dr. and tell him this and that your not feeling good you were but fell back. Guest guest
Hi, I did another 5mg dose of testim last night and didn't notice any difference except I didn't have the tight chest feelings but still have no libido. It's kind of disappointing but how long does it take to raise the T levels? I may be expecting too much out of this but I would say it is not doing much help so far. > > > From: gjvr2001 <no_reply > > > Subject: TRT > > > > Date: Friday, February 18, 2011, 12:56 PM > > I had been suffering from the > > symptoms of lowT for a year or two and finally got my T > > tested a few weeks ago.I found out that I was a victim of > > extremely low T, 32 and have been on Testim 5 gm for 5 days > > with no significant changes that I can feel. Guest guest
Some men start to feel better faster then others we are all different. Do test your levels in 2 weeks on this low dose it might not be enough and don't add more just one time it will just mess things up. It can take some time to get your levels up once your levels are up then your body will start to undo the damage done from having low T. And little by little you start feeling better. Best why to tell is keep a log on how your feeling get copy's of your labs. Libido is the last thing to get back and some men don't get it all back. It took a long time having low T to feel like this we are talking about a low hormone. It's not like taking a aspirin for a headache. Guest guest
wow! I think it is finally working a little bit as I took a viagra and was able to eek out a somewhat of an excuse of an orgasm. Not exactly like an 18 year old but hey it's progress. I think 10 mg of Testim might be the dose I'll need to be taking. Hope it gets a little better as the body asjusts to having some T again. What a relief! > > > > > > > From: gjvr2001 <no_reply > > > > > Subject: TRT > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, February 18, 2011, 12:56 PM > > > > I had been suffering from the > > > > symptoms of lowT for a year or two and finally > > got my T > > > > tested a few weeks ago.I found out that I was a > > victim of > > > > extremely low T, 32 and have been on Testim 5 gm > > for 5 days > > > > with no significant changes that I can feel. Guest guest
Hi! When you are using gels/creams, one thing to keep in mind is the amount of hair you have in the area where you apply the gel/cream. I have been on TRT for almost 10 years; started with gel (Androgel) then went to a cheaper yet very effective compounded cream. Recently I have observed my dose increasing after a long period of several years staying fixed. After my last check up last December, my doctor was concerned about my skin becoming an issue (normal process). So he wants to re-do all blood work in April. On my own I decided to trim the hair from the area where I apply the cream and ... voila!! Incredible results!! I feel great!! My muscles are coming back (same with my morning wood), libido is slowly returning. In summary: (1) check the area where you apply the gel; if it is too hairy, trim it (do not shave it since gels have alcohol and will irritate you - another reason why I prefer the compounded cream). (2) Find a good compounded pharmacy (mine is this one: http://www.hillscompounding.com/)and see if your doctor would write you a prescription for it. I do not know how much you pay for your gel; in my case, Androgel was about $200/month and my compounded cream was $40 (8 years ago; now it is $50). Plus, the cream is a skin moisturizer whereas the gel dries up your skin. (3) Keep posting here so that people who have been there/done that, especially Phil, can guide you. One thing I have learned from this site and my experience, some doctors have no clue on this subject or are too tied-up with the pharma companies and are reluctant to treat you the right way. So, do not be afraid to switch doctors. I did and it was the best thing. My first doctor refused to increase my dose of Androgel and for me to use compounded cream; found a doctor that would allow me to use compounded cream and would also allow me to dose myself based on my own evaluation of how I feel (my doctor knows I am a chemist, I work in the pharma industry and that I am very observant and understand/know my body very well, plus he knows all the research I have performed on this area; so that is why he allows me that flexibility; one more thing, he knows I hate drugs and that the less I have to use them (frequency/amounts), the happier I am). Keep us posted and best of luck!! Guest guest
Good post one thing I would like to add is if your using a compounded cream your area that you spread the cream on is very small and doing this keeps your DHT levels down. On Androgel and Testim yes buzz cut the hair off it works better. With them gels you need to cover a large area and doing this is time your DHT levels can get very high. With the compounded creams you don't even need to use your hands just pump the dose on your forearms and rub them together. Less area less DHT. Guest guest
I have no hair on the shoulders and back where I apply my gel but have found that if I just dab it around without rubbing it in, it seems to be less sticky dsrk stuff like dried up skin so I hope more actually gets absorbed this way. It is kind of like when you peel from a sunburn if you rub it in, my skin falls off. I cut the dose back to 5 gm today to see if I could coast on the 2 doses I took yesterday but I went back down in the libido department but my daughter called to talk on the phone today and asked me if I was alright as my voice seems to be even lower and cracking than it was in the past. Must be 2nd puberty. I had no chest tightness and my energy level was still decent and my general feeling of wellness was ok but no libido. I had been getting very forgetful and the mind seems to be a little better. I am going to try to get to talk with my urologist tomorrow and discuss whether I can get his approval to do the double dose, or see if I could get a shot of T or try an RX for First Testosterone which is a 2% gel that is considerably less expensive than the Testim and is available at drugstore.com. I also want to ask him if there is anything that might get either of the testis working again. The left one is squishy but still is sensitive to pain and the right one has for some long time been small, hard and insensitive to any pain. I'm going to ask him about the lab test numbers so I can post about FSH and LH as he hadn't told me exactly how high they were but they were sending orders for more T but essentially said the testes were fried. I also ordered some adroman creme from Lawley Lab in Australia that is supposed to be applied to the scrotum but don't know how long it will take to arrive or if it will be held up by customs or anything. I guess that the whole situation is very complicated but I'll probably have a lifetime to try to find out what works. I am also going to try to get another lab done before the scheduled April 1 date as I am a snowbird and will be having to change to a different doctor when I head back north. I really appreciate the combined knowledge of all those who post on your site as well as the info I have received from the Eunuch archive contributors. Thank you very much. > > > > > > > > > From: gjvr2001 <no_reply > > > > > > Subject: TRT > > > > > > > > > > Date: Friday, February 18, 2011, 12:56 PM > > > > > I had been suffering from the > > > > > symptoms of lowT for a year or two and > > finally got my T > > > > > tested a few weeks ago.I found out that I > > was a victim of > > > > > extremely low T, 32 and have been on Testim > > 5 gm for 5 days > > > > > with no significant changes that I can feel. > > I have one > > > > > shrunken and one mushy testicle which were > > probably fried > > > > > when I had a temp of 107 back a year or two > > ago. Guest guest
I also quit taking the Lovastatin pills that are for cholesterol but stayed on my cozaar and propanalol. I think I will ask my urologist about them too.
Guest guest
Be careful with your body!! You are talking about different drugs for your condition and combining them or using them very close to each other is going to make them difficult to evaluate their effectiveness and may even mess you up even more. My recommendation is to stay with what you have now; check the hormones level at the current dose; if low, increase the dose. If it does not work switch to compounded cream (I improved when I went from gel to cream). If that does not work, then go to shots. One thing that helped me control the E2 spikes was to split the daily dose into two doses (my doctor wanted me to do it in 3 doses; too bothersome for me); I apply half the dose in the morning and the other half at night. It works great for me! I still need to take DIM and Calcium D-glucarate to better control E2 levels. I gage myE2 levels by my morning wood and my breasts. Be patient!! That is the key for this to work effectively. I responded immediately to Androgel, yet it took me a lot of time, research and guidance to really get a hold of the entire hormonal management system. I had my set backs, yet I always found support and guidance here. Best of luck!! Guest guest
Look men do use Testim or Androgel 2x's / day if it does not keep them up from sleeping at night. But with Testim or Androgel you need to spread the gel over a large area to get this to work. With Androgel you need to spread it over your upper arms and shoulders and down your back as far as you can reach. But don't rub it in let it dry from wet. With Testim you need to do the same thing but rub it in well. And you need to do half your dose on one side the the other half on the other side. I never heart of some ones skin peeling off like a sunburn from gels. If this is happening you can't take it your skin is having a reaction to the gels. It is not good to do Gels and shots for TRT one or the other. To get your Testis working try HCG my Testis on TRT just doing Testosterone were so small because being on TRT your testis stop working and get small. When I added HCG my Testis were the size of small grapes. After a short time they came back up in size to normal. There is a shot in your country called Nibido look into trying this. It is said to last about 3 months but one needs to do them sooner and work up to them lasting this long.. Guest guest
I had heart bypass surgery and after I seen what cholesterol Drugs did to me I will never take that crap again. I am in pain allday long I can't stand or walk with out a walker. And I am getting better off them but it's very slow it might take me a yr. to be able to walk again. And ever thing I read about Statin Drugs say there is no proof they work. Just look at how much money the Drug Co's make selling this crap. Guest guest
I didn't get instant results, been on t for a year and seeing real progress. Much more interested in sex, improved muscle tone, lost a little weight. It takes time. I'd stick with the doctor's instructions. From: nachonigel@... Do what you have to do always, and if you have time thanks. Re: TRT > > Date: Monday, February 21, 2011, 5:40 PM > sorry about that.
