Guest guest
we had 3 cases of negative on western blot. When we suspected lyme disease from neurological symptoms when all other hormones were in check. The igenix test was suggested which is an out side lab not covered by insurance. 3 came out positive. I am sure there is a huge number that have been slipping through the medical cracks, but lyme is hard to distinquish and can mimic several different disorders. Lyme can attack the adrenals and even cause down regulation of cortisol receptors. One of my good friends has been having adrenal and thyroid imbalances for years, and suspected lyme. Problem was that when she was given cortef due to her immune system the lyme was brought out of remission. Every since she used cortef she put on 30 lbs in matter of a few months even once she stopped it her body has still not regulated. I feel bad for her but finally convinced her to seek a lyme specialist. The majority of people in alternative medicine get involved because them or loved ones have poor health issues. Lyme people can have it for years and it acts very similar to MS as it causes inflammation of the liver, and also immune system. So when treating the thyroid, adrenals, and gut, liver all your want, but untill you hit the source the lyme disease you are just keep filling up a bucket with holes in it. Of the 3 people that I know that have lyme disease also have genetic mutations in mthfr involving mutation which was most likely triggered from the stress on the body. The treatment involves antibiodies deoxcycline is first round, but medpron is usually the most successful one. As with kind of treatment it self has own set of side effects. Devil claw intravenus has been shown to help through alternative methods but is not as effective as the other 2. Dealing with a case as such as your needs with pealing away the indivudal layers looking for the commmon link. If you live or visit ny, PA, nj, ohio, seattle, Ca and few other state in wooded areas then you are vulnerable. > > A few posts back, you mentioned a patient that had screwed up adrenals and thyroid due to Lyme disease. > > I'm wondering if that's the case with me. Guest guest
Thanks. Grew up in NY. Was there when my symptoms started. I do feel like I'm filling a bucket with a hole in it. Will probably seek out a Lyme specialist. > > > > A few posts back, you mentioned a patient that had screwed up adrenals and thyroid due to Lyme disease. > > > > I'm wondering if that's the case with me.
