Phil so sorry to hear about your pain; two thoughts, building on Barb's

discussion of piriformis muscle impingement--common in men who carry their

wallets in back pocket--the back pocket with a wallet compresses that muscle

right onto /and causes sciatic pain--another thought--do I recall correctly you

went on Synthroid? That can cause huge muscle aches/pains..been there

myself--hope you get it sorted out quickly--El

I never heard this about Synthroid generic is what I am on been on it some time

doing good on it labs look good we just added T3 5mcgs 2x's a day. It is rare

that I have a wallet in my back pocket. I did figure out one thing just now

when I got up I stayed bent over no pain. I think it's my back seeing Dr.'s

Monday to figure this out.

Some of us can't take statins. I was on Crestor and had terrible shoulder and

bicep pain. Could not sleep.

Stopped the Crestor unilaterally and the pain went away after a few weeks. THEN

I told my quack.

In your position I would stop the Crestor. If the pain goes away, try a gentler

statin with 400mg of CoQ10. ( use a Canadian Red Yeast Rice product with .4%

statin). If the pain comes back, you are not a statin candidate.

If the pain stays away, you can play with lower CoQ10, but with your heart

condition ...... well, I am shocked that your cardiologist does not have you on

at least 1000 mg CoQ10 per day.

Be well friend, we need you.

It takes a while Phil As I understand it - and the doctors here can chime in -

statins stop not only cholesterol but other essential products from the liver.

Some of us produce so much that it does not hurt. Some of us produce just enough

and the reduction damages the nerves and the muscles.

It takes time for the production to resume and then it takes time to repair the

damage. Some of the damage is permanent. I still get the occasional nerve pain

in my biceps.

I call it nerve pain because it has been my experience that an injured muscle

can be put in a position that does not hurt or hurt as much. With this pain, no

matter what you do, the pain is the same, bad.

I got some relief within a month. The major relief took a couple of months.

Wish I had better news. Here is another, perhaps better group....

Do you know how long this takes to work.
