Guest guest
...I had a vasectomy 35 years ago (at the age of 24) following the wife's fourth pregnancy. Sex life has never suffered, but I'm now wondering if my ultra-low T (~125, gynecomastia, shrinkage, diminished muscle mass, lessening of libido, etc.) could have been a result. ...Some of the medical sites suggest that there is no connection, and remind us that in addition to the vas deferens, many other vessels deliver blood, etc., to/from the testes. Other sites claim the opposite. The relatively few Studies have supported both sides of the argument. ...On the other hand, during the past decade, I've also had Peyronie's Disease, C.A.D. and high cholesterol (~350), a heart attack and the usual follow-up 'maintenance' meds (Plavix, Amiodarone, Metoprolol and Lipitor) most of which I still ingest daily, chronic sleep apnea (now using C-PAP), and a botched Foley catheter insertion following another surgery. Any or all of these could also be factors in causing the low T. ...When diagnosed hypothyroid at 35, it was concluded that high-dose raditation from x-rays of the throat (tonsils) in the '50s must've been the cause. It's too soon to accept that this time, I should just chalk it up to 'aging'. ...Anyone have an opinion?? .................................. & V, NY..............
