Guest guest
Jim, you said " i was popping it like it was pez " ....please reconsider this tract with HC..more is not better sometimes, and I know you just want to get to feeling better, it's hard to be patient.. What *may* be happening (on top of taking too much HC for your needs) is that your thyroid production may be increasing...thus bringing a further wrinkle...hyPER thyroid brings another set of issues to an already complex situation..I forget if you are taking thyroid meds...but your own body can be boosting conversion to T3.. The feelings you describe in traffic the other day, paranoia/anxiety/worry--those types of feelings, along with anger/mood issues, can point to too much HC (cortisol)...you don't want to tip over into too much...bad as too little... You can safely lower your dose by dropping 2.5mg from the routine over several days (or over a longer period of time depending on how your body reacts)..if you need help let us know..EL > > Today, I'm at 30mg and not feeling that well. Guest guest
El, Last week I thought my thyroid was starting to respond. I took my temp 2x. It was 98.6, usually I'm at 97.5. I think though, the 98.6 was from being outside in the heat for a while. My temps are back to the 97.2- 97.5 range. I'm not on any thyroid meds.I did not sleep well last night. I was somewhat shaky most of the night. I'm going to try to cut back the amount of cortef I take per day. I'll just have to live with some of the shakiness. I hope to make it to the doctor next week. Because of some new lab test results, there's new therories on the course of treatment. My hormones are a mess right now. > > You can safely lower your dose by dropping 2.5mg from the routine over several days (or over a longer period of time depending on how your body reacts)..if you need help let us know..EL > > >
Guest guest
Is it ok to " stress dose " according to blood pressure? For instance: BP last night at 8:00pm was 113/46 pulse 75. I didn't feel that well. I took about 1.5mg cortef. I couldn't sleep because I was shaky. Maybe it was low glucose. > > You can safely lower your dose by dropping 2.5mg from the routine over several days (or over a longer period of time depending on how your body reacts)..if you need help let us know..EL > > > > > Today, I'm at 30mg and not feeling that well. Guest guest
Jim are you still checking your sugar levels when you feel like this if not do so see if your sugar is low. You have only been on HC a short time and I think if you kept a log that you could read back you would see if your doing better. Guest guest
Phil, I do check my sugar from time to time when I'm not feeling well. The readings are always ok. This leads me to believe either i'm not dosing HC properly, or my system is just eating it up quickly. This morning I got up somewhat shaky. I had virtually no sleep. I took 7.5mg cortef. this didn't seem to help much. My sugar was 83.I know the monitor is fairly accurate since I checked it to my mothers monitor. I was feeling really lousy, so I took another 5mg about 2 hours later. This seemed to help some. It just seems i have to talk the cortef on a frequent basis to stay somewhat leveled. I'm seeing dr.O next week. i'm going to discuss medrol with him. i'm going to try to use as little of HC as necessary, but I'm just in another world a lot of times. > > Jim are you still checking your sugar levels when you feel like this if not do so see if your sugar is low. Guest guest
Jim some times when we fix one thing something else that is wrong show it's ugly head like low aldosterone and renin production. This went on with me for many yrs and after I started on Cortef this showed it's ugly head. I was told to try adding a 1/2 tsp of Sea Salt to a glass of water first thing in the morning it made me feel better. My adrenals not working my body is dumping my sodium so I got this tested and it was very low. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=12 & t=15453 I started on florinef and this fixed my problems http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=12 & t=15450 Just something to think about. Guest guest
I'm chugging 1tsp celtic salt at 9;00am and 1tsp at 1:00pm. I'll try it when I wake up from now on. It was suggested I take 3 tsp/day. > > > > > > I went to the gym for the first time in 3 months today > > got there at 11:30am worked out worm up to cool down 90 > > min.'s. And I cut back big time on my load driving > > home I was shaking and felt dam weak. I eat lunch and > > take 10 mgs of HC in 15 min's I am fine again. > > > > > > I don't feel your taking to much HC at this dose and I > > feel your eating it up as fast as your taking it. Is > > your HC the generic or is it called Cortef. > > > Co-Moderator > > > Phil > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > >
Guest guest
I eat the Eggs for there protein this converts into glucose that last a lot longer then glucose from sugar. And if you cook your eggs right they are less fating. I have very good Chol. levels so eggs help keep me more leveled. I also eat diet bread 2 of them is = to one reg. bread. and I eat fruit with 1/2 cup of OJ. If I eat Oatmeal I get weak and shaky about an hr. later. At night before going to bed if I am having a problem with my sugar fall at night I will eat some cheese or nuts to help keep my levels up. Guest guest
I was like this first thing in the morning so I still wake up at 5am I am retired. So I started taking my Test C or HG shots at this time and my C and Thyroid melds. I then go back to bed and get up feel great at 8am. But I needed to take 10 Mg's of C at 5am then 5 Mg's at 9am then 10Mg's at 1pm and 5Mg's at 6pm this is what works for me. One more thing when my Estrada is high I feel edgy and agitated even feel panic feeling. Do you take anything for high Estradiol like Arimidex if you do you might try a test. When you wake up feeling like this try taking .5 mgs of Arimidex see it this stops in in about an hour. I do this when I feel a Panic Attack coming on it stops it cold. Guest guest
I do a flat tsp. Your heaping 1/2 tsp is probably about the same as my flat tsp. At what time do you take your last salt dose? Guest guest
I've never taken anything for high E2. Iused to have really low E2. Couldn't get it elevated until my t level got above around 850. The last time it was checked it was something like 22. Guest guest
Yes I know I remember this but as your on TRT and it can keep going up not all men feel the same with higher levels of Estadiol. Some feel like your feeling and others get ED, have sore and hard nipples feel hot and sweat like a pig day and night and some look red on the upper parts for the body and face. I gage my Estradiol levels by my night time and morning involuntary nocturnal erections appear during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. When they get weak I know my levels are going up and then I get feelings of Panic and as it goes higher I get ED. You need to get this tested.
