Guest guest
Hi carsisadam and Welcome, To answer you questions: First we don't do shots every 2 weeks this is very old and dose not work. Your doing this big shot your levels will go very high in 3 days over 1500 then start falling then by your next shot your low again. This puts you on a roller coaster ride up after the shot only to fall very low by the next one. Good Dr.'s that do treat a lot of men found this out a long time ago. But if your read the box it says every 2 to 3 weeks if they change what is says they need run more studies to prove it. 1.) Yes this big shot every 2 weeks can drive up your Estradiol levels and most men on TRT need to keep track of this. 2.) The levels of T from your testis is not the same as from TRT when you first do your shot your levels will shoot up very high then fall back. The gels even do this when you first put on the gel your levels are very high for the first 4 to 6 hrs. The T from gels is stored just under your skin and feeds your blood for about 4 to 6 hrs. So your body makes Estraidol to try to lower this higher level of T. But not in all men. 3.) The ride for most men is very bad others can handle it. Today a lot of men do shots 2x's / week or even every 3 days. They do there own shots and feel more leveled and have less Estraiol conversion and it helps keep ones blood thinner. Bottom line here is you need to find what works best for you. But starting out on shots every 2 weeks is not the best way to start. Do 100 mgs / week to start run labs see how your levels come up best to get them up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range or when you feel your best and keep your Estraidol down to about 20 pg/ml. Most men on TRT use HCG to keep there Testis working and the LH cells. Going on TRT your brain sees the added T and stops telling your Testis to make T by slowing down sending LH and FSH the message from your brain that tells your testis to make T. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html One of the top Dr.'s in the world for TRT we follow for TRT go to www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG update. Why would the person on TRT have the extra side effects with the same level of Test, for example? > Good question. acne and baldness (if you're genetically inclined) are all the results of testosterone alone. That's why teens have acne and men lose their hair. Trouble sleeping is mostly due to other issues like high Estradiol or T levels that are way TOO high. Testicular shrinkage is simple atrophy due to the fact that your testis are no longer producing. Your pituitary sees a lot of T and reduces LH and FSH, shutting down your testis. With being as young as you are, you might want to consider your fertility. For me it was a non-issue. I hope your doc had that chat with you. If not, you need to find another more competent one FAST. > 3. For those who are taking bi-weekly injections: What is the ride like? Do you feel like it's too much in the first day and then feel like crap on the 14th day? Or can you really tell a difference? > bi-weekly: No good. Are you getting shots in office or self administering? If self administering, see if your doc will provide you with a script for a multi-dose vial. Then you can split it up to 2x / week. Just split the dose and make sure the syringe is small enough to allow you to measure it out. You can buy extra syringes online or w/o a script in some states. Guest guest
Thanks for the replies guys. So I just got my Rx today. Testosterone cypionate 100g. 1ml every two weeks (in a 10ml multidose vial). Based on my research I may do one of three things. 1. Take 0.5ml once per week 2. Take 0.25ml twice per week 3. If the more multi dose the better, I just might get a small syringe and take 0.143 everyother day. But maybe that is poking myself too much. lol My only concern is that my doctor only wanted me to start with 1ml every two weeks. I am supposed to take the shot on monday and come back one week later to see what my levels are. If I take the more frequent shots it will certainly result in different values on the blood test and cause my doctor to interpret it wrong. (If I don't tell her that I am going against her orders of every two weeks.) Yes, I am going to start shopping around for a good doc that speciallizes in TRT in my area. But I have to deal with the doc that I have now for the time being. What would you do? > > > > > > 1. Guest guest
No don't do this with out telling your Dr. I will tell you this starting out every 2 weeks will not kill you you might even do better. Is the vail or on the box saying 200 mgs / ml if so your 1ml. shot every 2 weeks will be 200 mgs. Do this shot like he said when you see him talk to him about doing your shot 100 mgs every weeks see how this works out for you if not then go to 2x's / week. I says this because most Dr. give there men a 200 mg. jump start shot on the first shot then do 100 mgs every week. So show your Dr. this link in it and it's old dated it states to do shots every 7 to 10 days. It's on page 11. http://www.aace.com/pub/pdf/guidelines/hypogonadism.pdf All ways keep your Dr. in the loop on how your doing things. Guest guest
Now that I see that your doc wants test in 2 wks.(I'm not sure that makes too much sense), I'm going to agree with Phil - contrary to what I said earlier. Go with every 2 weeks for now. If she doesn't agree with 2x / week, and your labs look bad, you can change up your schedule while you look for another doc. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > 1. I am worried that the concentrated dose > > that the injections gives you will also boost my estradiol > > levels (I really don't want to end up with > > gynocomastia). My doc says that as long as your > > testosterone levels are in the normal range this won't > > happen. Anyone hear about gyno happening even though > > test levels were in normal range? (My doc didn't think > > it was necessary but I am going to get my estradiol checked > > with my test when I come back for re-visits) > > > > > > > I have had a small amount of gyno under both gel and > > injections. Often men getting TRT need some help > > getting Estradiol levels down. See what happens. > > If they go high, there is help available. You can > > start a supplement like DIM or pharmaceuticals. > > > > > > > 2. Speaking of which, whenever you read > > about the side effects of testosterone such as: acne, > > baldness, testicular shrinkage, trouble sleeping, ect… Why > > would any of that happen if you are able to attain a normal > > level of test? What is the difference between someone > > with a natural level of 500 and someone on TRT with a level > > of 500? Why would the person on TRT have the extra > > side effects with the same level of Test, for example? > > > > > > > Good question. acne and baldness (if you're > > genetically inclined) are all the results of testosterone > > alone. That's why teens have acne and men lose their > > hair. Trouble sleeping is mostly due to other issues > > like high Estradiol or T levels that are way TOO high. > > > Testicular shrinkage is simple atrophy due to the fact > > that your testis are no longer producing. Your > > pituitary sees a lot of T and reduces LH and FSH, shutting > > down your testis. With being as young as you are, you > > might want to consider your fertility. For me it was a > > non-issue.   I hope your doc had that chat > > with you. If not, you need to find another more > > competent one FAST. > > > > > > > 3. Guest guest
Or just go on your own if your doing you own shots she would not know the diff. because if you do your labs the morning of your next shot but do labs first your going to have good levels.
