My new DR. has switched me from Androgel to weekly Test. injections and HGC on the 5th and 6th day. I take dim. This Dr. also placed me on a supplement " AdaptenAll " , as well as many other nutra pharmaceuticals supplements. Is anyone aware of " AdaptenAll " ????????? ? Guest guest
I am Secondary Hypopituitary do to a head injury in a auto accident some 28 yrs a go took me 23 yrs to figure this all out. My first Cortisol test come back at 9 my Dr. at the time told me I was fine in range. The test was a fasting morning blood test today I know he was looking for Cushings and any blood test under 15 in the morning is a flag going up. When I have is Adrenal Insufficiency my pituitary dose not tell my Adrenals to work right I did an ACTH Stim. test and this showed my Adrenals work fine after the shot my levels went up 3 to 4 x's the amount my levels were before the shot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACTH_stimulation_test I tried supplements and glans every did Isocort it is said Isocort 8 pills is = to 20 mgs of Cortisol it's made from sheep glands. I did not do good on any of this until I went on Cortef HC 5 mgs 4x's a day. You can try this stuff he is giving you but for me it was a waste of my time. I would get very sick every winter with Bronchitis and what ever was going around that winter every winter. When I went on cortef all this crap stopped and I feel much better. I even ended up being a mod for men only at STTM forum for Adrenals and Thyroid. Here is some info for you about this problem. In this link are the best parts of a book done by the God Father of Adrenals problems. SAFE USES OF CORTISOL by McK. Jeffries http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/safe-uses/ This link is good has all the best parts of STTM's web site in one link. http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/ This is a FAQ's I helped with it's full of links and info about dosing and stress dosing HC. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/faq/ After getting my Adrenals supported on Cortef HC I found out I had low Aldosterone and Renin levels and my Adrenals were telling my kidneys to dump my sodium so I am on Florinef with Sea Salt in my water to fix this. http://www.tuberose.com/Adrenal_Glands.html http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/aldosterone/test.html One good way to tell how your adrenals are doing is to take your temps starting when your up 3 hrs every 3 hrs 3x's a day add them up div. by 3 this is your avg. if your avg. goes up or down more then 2ths your adrenals are not supported and will not get better. http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metabolic-temperature-graph I am not saying this is your problem but if what your Dr. is doing dose not work you will know why. Guest guest
I tried all of them and my BP went up and my Heart rate and I later found out things that act like a stimulant stress out your Adrenals even more. I had to stop taking things with Siberian Ginseng, Rhodiola rosea root extract, Schizandra Berry extract, Ashwangandha root extract, and licorice root extract in them. Some do good on Licorice but a lot don't and it's hard to find good stuff. One more thing about glans you don't know whats in them they can be full of adrenaline and give you a Panic Attack. Guest guest
Phil: Wow your story sounds so familiar to me. The best medical explanation that I have recieved is that I more than likely developed Secondary Hypo after an accident which resulted in a bad concussion. Whether the trauma to my pituitary gland would have showed up on a CAT scan or other hi-tech diagnostic tools is anyones guess, but at the time this happened CAT scans were all but unheard of. Second, I too have had adrenal problems, and the hydrocortisone pills that I took made me so anxious and gave me such stomach trauma that I nearly had to put an internet jack in my bathrooms at work and at home to get anything done. It was terrible and taking the hydrocortisone made me feel worse than without the medicaion. I too have had problems with taking ginsing and another one of the natural herbs/suppliments that you mentioned, and I thought that I was doing something to help my condition only to make my situation worse and to push my blood pressure up. I had no idea that this would happen, but my doctor told me that this was happening to me. Go figure SB
Guest guest
It is too back HC dose not agree with you after I stared on it it was a life saver for me. I even take my morning dose on an empty stomach no problems. Some people that had a problem with HC did ok on Isocort 8 pills a day is = to 20 mgs of Cortisol not HC. Some switched to Medrol and did good on that but I think they needed it because the HC was not lasting long enough. I have been low on Growth Hormone and finely started on it last Nov. It is working so good I don't need meds anymore for my Thyroid. And I have had to cut back on my dose of HCG. So I should have went on GH yrs ago but everything I read about taking it and it's sides turned me off about using it.
