Guest guest
Hi the69cat and Welcome, I don't feel your problem is from your Vasectomy if it were to be the problem you would have had low T levels in the first yr. after it. If your Dr. has not put you on TRT you need to find out why your low first before treating this if you go on TRT is will shut you down from making your own Testosterone and it will be dam hard to figure out why your low. In some cases if your figure out why your low and fix it your levels can come back up. I do know of a man that ended up with low T after a Vasectomy he posted at WebMD about 15 yrs ago the the URO Dr. this Dr. told him there is a rare Infection one can get from having a Vasectomy and he needs a special test to tell if he has this and it will take a special med to fix it. He had this infection and got it fix and his levels came back up. Go to Dr. 's site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success in this are labs you need and why do them try to find out why your low if it can be fixed your levels might go back up and you will not need TRT. www.allthingsmale.com In this link are some things that cause low T in men. http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553 Here is a cut and paste. =================================================== According to the Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab, these are the causes of hypogonadism: chronic/systemic illness surgery chemotherapy infections premature aging testicular trauma stress Kleinfelter's syndrome autoimmune damage tobacco and alcohol sleep apnea excessive heat obesity hypercortisolism medications hyperthyroidism malnutrition ?Subtle clinical signs of hypogonadism may include slight gynecomastia and soft small testes. However, researchers have noted that " the findings of physical examination in men with adult-onset hypogonadism are often normal.? Secondary hypogonadism can develop as a result of hypothalamic or pituitary disease, obesity, hypothyroidism or other causes. Some conditions, such as hypercortisolemia, AIDS and severe systemic illnesses, can trigger hypogonadism through a combination of both primary and secondary mechanisms.? --------------------------------------------------- In this link it talks about this problem with low T read it and learn about it so when you see a Dr. you will know if he is up on treating this if you need it treated. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html Get a copy of the labs your Dr. did and post them with this thread with the units and ranges.
