Hi and Welcome,

First thing that a seen was your Ferritin level are very low you need to get on

some Iron pills I have this problem. I have about as many of your problems and

some. I am Hypopituitary my Pituitary dose not tell my body to make hormones.

So I treat my low Testosterone levels with shots every 3 days of Test C and the

day before my next T shot I do HCG 250 IU's. Being on TRT one needs to check

there Estradiol levels if to high it takes away any of the good your

Testosterone and Thyroid meds are doing for you. One way to tell if your

levels are good is if you still have strong night time and morning nocturnal

erections.

I am also on Thyroid meds was on Armour 4 grains I also don't believe in getting

down RT3 unless all your hormones are leveled off. And you can rid the stress

in your life other wise RT3 will just come back when you stop T3 only meds.

Also doing T3 only med drive up ones SHBG levels this binds up your Total and

Free Testosterone so it's not working in your body it's just there.

I am on Cortef HC 30 mgs a day and my Adrenals work fine just don't get told to

work my pituitary dose not send enough ACTH that tells them to work.

After starting on HC and getting my body supported I added the Thyroid meds. I

was on 4 grains of Armour for 4 yrs. I was doing OK on this. One thing that

started going on was my being able to take the heat of summer was getting worse

I never could take much heat so I stayed cool. I found out my going on HC med

my low Aldosterone showed there ugly head and testing this I was very low. My

body was dumping my sodium and has been for yrs.

I started on .1mcgs of Florinef and take it with some good Sea Salt 1/2 tsp in

water about 20 oz. 3x's a day. Try this when you read this your sodium levels

are very low much like mine have been for yrs. And all the Dr.'s would say

about it is drink more water. I now know doing this with out Sea Salt in it

made things worse.

Last Dec. I started on Growth Hormone .3mgs or .9 IU's after about 10 weeks on

this my Thyroid started working and I went Hyper but I did not feel like your

feeling just was sweating bad shot of breath with a fast heart beat and high BP.

Labs showed me to be hyper and we started lowing my Armour until I was off it.

But later on I had a problem with the GH the dose I started on was to high so I

was taken off it. On my next set of labs my Thyroid TSH was at 5.7 FT3 was just

below mid range and FT4 was at the bottom. I was going back on GH at a dose of

..15 mgs so we started on 250 mcgs of Synthriod I was holding a lot of water and

doing it I lost a lot of it but I am 66 yrs old.

When I started on Florinef I was taking 25 mgs of DHEA 2x's a day been of this

for yrs. never felt better doing it but did it because I was at the low end of

labs. Well I started having a problem with high estradiol levels and doing labs

my DHEA-S Shot up past the top of the normal range. And in men doing to much

DHEA converts into Estradiol so I stopped the DHEA now my labs are at the top of

the range so treating my low Aldosterone levels fixed my low DHEA levels.

If you don't need DHEA and your in range it can make you sick.

I am looking at your page 2 of labs were you on HC when you did them labs. My

Dr. has me take my 10 mgs of Cortef HC in the morning then we do a fasting set

of labs in about 2hrs as long as I show a level the come in between 8 to 16 we

know I am not shut down from taking to much HC.

Your FSH is going to be low on Testosterone meds TRT your brain sees the

Testosterone in your blood and slows down sending your LH and FSH messages from

your brain that tells your testis to make more Testosterone.

I am not sure about your Estradiol level with your SHBG this low and if you were

on T3 only meds this is strange your levels should be very high.

If you take anything to lower your Estradiol levels stop taking it our on the

very low side and this can give you sore joints and muscles with clicking in

your joints and bone loss.

Now about your Testosterone levels I am not up on your Liposomal but it looks

like your doing 100mgs a day now if you get up in the morning and do a shower

and put this med on then do your labs they are going to low dam high. You need

to get up shower do your labs then put on the Testosterone.

If you can't do this get up put on the Testosterone keeping it off the area that

take your blood from and do lab after 4 to 6 hrs. If you don't do this your

labs will look much higher then they are.

I am not sure what S-Testosterone is here we check Total, Free, and Bio

Testosterone.

Here is what I would try if I were you to see if your in Adrenal Crisis take 5

mgs every 30 min's up to 4x's or when you stop shaking or vibrating this is

called Stress dosing if you feel better then try to figure out what you did to

over stress your body and end up low like this.

Here are some links for you to read about this some of them don't work anymore

but the FAQ's on Adrenals is dam good full of all the info you need to know

about AI.

http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=12 & t=256

And in this link are the best parts from the book " Safe Uses of Cortisol " so you

know your safe doing what I am telling you.

In this link it's about low Testosterone I give this to everyone.

and this one.

It sounds to men like your Secondary read this link to Hypopituitary there are

tests you can do the figure this out.

I all of this is no help try seeing if your Dr. will work with Dr. over the

phone to test and treat you he dose this all over the world and is one of the

best Male Hormone Dr.'s out there.

Hello Phil, and thanks for your long reply! I will try to answer you properly

but FIRST I just wanted to show you something I found today; The " last

bloodsample " while being helathy and feeling quite well before all the mess in

the past 2 1/2 years. You can clearly see something (FT3) was not right, but

most of the things, in my uneducated opinion, looks quite good! Great, even!

Correct me if I'm wrong! You guys know MUCH more about hormones than I do!

It looks like you have a Pituitary Problem unless your on Thyroid meds. If not

your TSH is very low meaning your Pituitary is not telling your Thyroid to make

more thyroid I says this because your LH and FSH are so low and you were not on

TRT when this set of labs were done. Your FT3 being this high is part of the

problem and a flag going up. I don't remember why this happens don't see this a

lot. You need to have an MRI on your Pituitary if you had one and it was good

do an ACTH Stim. test to see if your cortisol levels are good if not then your

Secondary.

I have this problem it's from head injury.

Hello Phil, and thanks for your reply!

I am so sorry, I forgot to tell you that I have been on T4 since 19997 (I later

added T3 to the T4 in 2004). The T4 (around 125 mcg daily) made me loose more

than 100 lbs in 12 months when I first started on it, and it really gave me my

life back! So, what you are looking at now in that link is the last blood sample

taken while taking my " full dose " of thyroid meds, which was: 100 mcg T4 and 40

mcg T3. I took this dose up til February 2008. My problems started in January

2008 with the heart thing going on for 20 minutes. I did feel pretty amazing on

the thyroid meds for years though; I was skinny, looking good, doing whatever I

wanted in my life and I felt pretty much healthy all the time! 1 month after

this blood was drawn in early January 2008 I had a heart fib, and as a result,

the endos started removing my T3/T4, telling me I don't need any meds, cause I

don't have hypothyroidism! (Based on a blood sample from 1997 that looked normal

- But _I_ didn't

look normal! I was fat and feeling miserable at the time!) So the fib happened

when my FT3 was high! SOMETHING made my FT3 high. I am guessing... Unstable/Low

cortisol, EVEN IF my serum levels looked ok (look in the link!)

I _did_ suffer from one particularly hard blow to my head when I was around 14 I

think... I am not sure but I think I was around 14. And that was when my

problems started too, so... I don't know!

Right now, I am just shaking! My legs especially. I removed my 5 mcg of T3 last

night, keep my 120 mg of ERFA Thyroid. To see if it helps taking less Thyroid

hormone. So far no good. Shaking quite a bit. It's scary. Do you have any clue

what that can be?

First let me tell you you don't take your Thyroid meds in the morning of our

labs you do your labs then take your thyroid meds. So what your seeing is not a

true reading of your Thyroid.

Being on T3 meds I feel is nuts if you can get on a NTH med like ERFA there is

enough T3 in this.

I feel your Cotisol levels are very low because your Adrenals are over worked

and can't make enough Cortisol you need Cortisol to carry the Thyroid out of

your blood into your cells. So if your low and you start on ERFA and go up on

the dose fast what your feeling it the hormone building up in your blood making

you feel hyper back off your ERFA to 60 mgs for a few days see if you feel

better and this shaking stops if it dose I am right you need to do a 4 x's in a

day Saliva test on your cotisol levels and if your low get on some HC or Isocort

going up on the dose slow state low and go up a little more every 3 days until

your doing 20mgs a day 5mgs 4x's a day.

In this link you will find a link to this test.

http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/

And a link to a FAQ's I helped make at STTM site read this and in it it tells

you every thing you need to know about Adrenals and treating them.

Oh man I keep forgetting telling all the details... I started on HC the summer

of 2009, just to be sure the T3 was getting into the cells! I did a 24 hours

saliva in the spring of 2009 and it came out low, so I was put on HC by a

private practitioner in Finland. Had to fly there. Nobody in Norway would put me

on HC. ONLY if I had _addisons_ ....... I tried T3-only (2010) after T4-only

(2008 and 2009) to clear my Reverse T3. I had a low ratio of 15. It should be

above 20. After 3 months of T3-only, _with_ a lot of arrhythmias and issues...

(though I did improve as well, mentally, I got much clearer in my head!), I

decided to go to Hertoghe, which is a big name hormone doc in Belgium. He said

T3-only is not perfect simply beause it stressed patients cause they have to

take the doses so many times every day. He also said it's more comfortable with

a T4-backup in the system. So I am trying ERFA Thyroid now. It's been about 4

months on it, with the last 1

full month taking 2 grains daily. I doubt a 6 foot 4 person as myself could be

perfect with only 2 grains though. Still, they told me to remove my last 5 mcg

of T3 yesterday, to see if that would stop the vibration/shaking I feel.

Actually, if it wasn't for the new symptom (vibration) I've had in the last 6

days, I would feel... better now than on T3-only. I think. I am not sure.

Everything is such a mess.

I apologize for not telling all my details in my story! I don't even remember

what I wrote in that story! I came to this group to learn more about

testosterone. Someone warned me taking 2 grams of tetosterone permanently, every

day. Something about ruining my manlyhood. I NEVER had erection problems, I was

always very high on the sexdrive. I hope I won't ruin the ONLY part of me that

was never sick, taking testosterone gel!?!?!? Like, after some years.. Won't I

kill my own production!? I am worried taking more and more hormones, in a

way............ That's why I wanted someone with experience to take a look at my

" last blood sample while feeling great " (January 2008) - Long before I dook HC,

DHEA, and Testosterone gel. (this started only June 2009 (HC) and this march

2010!)

When you go up on your dose of Thyroid it takes 8 weeks for your body to adjust

to it and if you start feeling bad it is to much. What was your last dose of

ERFA before you went on 120 mgs. When I was on Armour same thing I first did HC

to support my Adrenals then I started on Armour when I was doing well on HC 20

mgs a day. I only added more Armour every 8 weeks and went up only 15 mgs

because adding more Thyroid meds will stress out your Adrenals and make you feel

sick.

Going on TRT gels shots what ever if you need it because your levels are low do

it men on TRT don't lose there Sex life if they do it right one needs to keep

there Estradiol levels in check. Not let them get to high.
