I use privatemdlabs.com. Right now, use a coupon code " dra7ageh " for a 15%

discount. They send me to Labcorp and I get my results within a couple of

days. If you need RBC, Potassium and Magnesium, a Metabolic Assessment

Program test is appropriate. The cost is $ 88 less 15% if you use the coupon

code/

E.T.

Hey Group,

Been searching for a while and can't find a a lab company that will allow me

to order RBC Potassium and Maganesium. Does anyone know of an online

company that will do this?

Thanks,

E.T.,

Thanks for the link but they do not test RBC Potassium and RBC magnesium. I

need these two and not RBC, magnesium and potassium (which are serum

tests). Thanks anyways.

You would need two sets of lags.

http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/ItemLC381822/Chemistry-Panel-Complete-Bl\

ood-Count-CBC-Blood-Test.html

http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/ItemLC001537/Magnesium-Blood-Test.html

But call them first see if it's in one test.

Phil,

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately, neither one of these does RBC Potassium

or RBC Magnesium.

It's strange because I can't find anyone who does this...

LEF has RBC Magnesium (not just magnesium but RBC magnesium)-

tml)

I'm looking through some other labs to find RBC Potassium.

Why do you want RBC my labs are not RBC.

My Potassium is under Comprehensive Metabolic 4.3 range 3.5 - 5.3 mmol/L.

and

My Magnesium by it's self 2.0 range 1.5 - 2.5 mg/dL

I'm just curious. My serum came back at 3.7 (3.5-5.3) and because I'm anal

retentive, I would like to know my RBC potassium value. I also am having a

very hard time getting Vit D levels up and thought I should check my RBC

Magnesium.

Mike, econolabs.com does both RBC magnesium and RBC potassium:

http://www.econolabs.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=rbc+potassium

http://www.econolabs.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=rbc+magnesium

I've used them for ferritin/iron panel a lot.

PrivateMDLabs.com has RBC magnesium on their website only:

http://www.privatemdlabs.com/lab_tests.php?view=search_results & show=1559 & categor\

y=12 & search=magnesium#1559

You may be able to call them and request RBC potassium. Don't forget the 15%

discount code!

Do you take magnesium? If so, how much and what type?

You are near the bottom of the range and that isn't so great, I'm sure you

know. Low potassium can cause lots of problems.

I've heard that if parathyroid hormone is high that vitamin D will be

excreted faster. Some suggest testing ionized calcium, regular calcium and

PTH together to see what's going on there. Fortunately, hyperparathyroidism

is sometimes the result of a long term vitamin D deficiency and it can

balance out as vitamin D is raised. There's also the potential for bad

vitamin D supplements. I've taken a product before that was just simply

subpotent.

I had my regular serum calcium levels nearing the top of the range and had

calcification symptoms (stiff muscles, mainly) that seemed to get worse over

time on vitamin D. I had very low in-range PTH, so it wasn't that. I

apparently depleted my vitamin K2 as taking Carlson menatetrenone made the

symptoms go away.

These are still not accurate test. I have found over the years that measuring it

indirectly by looking at metabolites of by products of magnesium reactions is

the best way. If a person has a mercury or heavy metal burden magnesium may be

present in the red blood cell, but will not be activate as mecury will bind with

it. For people that have good insurance we will be running comprehensive testing

to look at these imbalances and will be able to done at extremely afforable.

That is low but it may be due to something not being able to depleting magnesium

or from other factors such as function b-6 defieincy.

Nigel,

How much vitamin D3 do you take and what brand? My calcium was on the top of

the range before D3.

I don't understand how to interpreted calcium and iodinez calcium.

If high, then its too much of D3? At least my lab notes talking about this.

I was very low on D3 I take drops each one is 2,000 IU's I take 12 drops every

morning my levels now are very good. I use Bio-D Mulsion Forte by Biotics

Research Corp.

http://www.evitamins.com/product.asp?pid=13834

From what I understand you can take too much Vit. D.

24.000 iu daily? That's a lot! I take capsules, gels, 1.000 iu a cap. 3 every

morning. I fond this sufficient in the wintertime. Durig summer I can take 1.000

or 2.000 iu's cause exposure to sun help a great deal as well!

If your low on some thing and it's making you sick yes supplement it. As for

Multivitamin's when it came to lowering my Homocysteine Cardiovasecular 9.2

range <11.4 umo/L. witch are very good now taking a Multi- Vit. for this did

nothing I need to go each Vit. I need as per Hardasnails the following.

• I went with NOW brand for the following supplements do to a high levels on

a Homocysteine Cardiovascular and below normal level of Folate RBC labs.

•NAC N-Acetyl Cysteine, Selenium, Molybdenum - 600 mg.

•B-12 (Brain) Methylcobalamin - 5000 mcg lozenges. 3x’s/week.

•Coenzyme B Complex.

•P-5-P (Coenzyme B6) 50 mg.

•I am taking 800 mcg. Folacal for low Folate RBC.

•TMG 750mg 1pm and 11pm 2 pills a day.

•Solary Super Bio C 2 x’s/day 1000 mgs. Total.

•l-Arginine and l-Orthinine 100 Capsules, 750 mg, Twinlab 1 at bedtime.

and on top of them I take a Multi-Vit.

•Dr. Cranton's PrimeNutrients 3/day.

Phil, you are crazy :) Vitamin D3 council recommends no more then 10 000 UI.

Whats you calcium level? Too much D3 deplete calcium. I took 10 000 UI to rise

my D3 level from 13 to 51 ng/ml over 6 month. Now i take 5000 UI to keep this

level. if you take 24 000 UI and its still <100 then you brand is not potent.

I test D3 every 2 months or so. I take 1.000 iu daily, but in the wintertime I

adjust it up to let's say 3.000 daily. This is forever - One must never stop

taking D3!

This would may due to secondary/tertiary hyperparathyroidism due to low vitamin

D levels.

I take them individually as per Hardasnails trying a Multi-Vit. with all of them

in one pill did not fix my problem. My Heart Dr. seen this and now tells

everyone to take them individually.
