Guest guest
Phil, Public pools use high levels of chlorine that are higher than you would use in your own spa. So anywhere you go, you will run into this problem. This may look funny, but you could get a full body wet suit and wear that in the pool. Guest guest
No this is the only pool I can get to I have to use a walker to walk and I just make there. And no I did not shower after. I was told to shower before using the pool. So when I go today I am taking a soup and doing a shower when I get out. I am also taking one of my test strips to see what the water looks like it might have a bad Ph level. Guest guest
Yep if I have to I will I need to walk and I can't walk out of water if I can keep walking in water my Dr. feels in time I will be able to walk again with out the use of a walker. I even thought about using a T shirt and then shower when I get out. Guest guest
There may be other chemicals added to the public swimming pools to get rid of algae and other such buggers. If I were you, I would talk to the swimming pool owner/administrator to find out what chemicals and proportions do they use. This way you can begin figuring out which chemicals are involved. One other thing: I would ask when they put the chemicals since you may be getting into the pool when the concentration of chemicals might be too high for your skin. Guest guest
You might also look for a chlorine free pool near you, for example there are some pools that use ozone instead: http://swimming.about.com/od/allergyandasthma/a/cl_pool_problem_3.htm BR//Matt On Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 1:49 PM, <rubennolastname@...> wrote: > > > There may be other chemicals added to the public swimming pools to get rid > of > algae and other such buggers. > > If I were you, I would talk to the swimming pool owner/administrator to > find out > what chemicals and proportions do they use. Guest guest
I did some searching on the web looks like the bottom line is to have the rash looked at to tell. I see my Dr. tomorrow to go over labs so I will have him look it. I did not go to the pool today don't want it to get worse. Guest guest
Hi Phil, I personally don't know how well this works, but I know some people who put lotion on their body before entering a pool and then shower right away after getting out. They claim that it greatly minimizes the irritation. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of philip georgian Sent: Monday, March 21, 2011 2:00 PM Subject: Re: Re: Walking in a Hot pool. Guest guest
, One rule the club has for using there pools is you shower before going in it. They even had an att. watching people going into the locker room. I was thinking of trying this but they spot check people going into the locker room to make sure you use the shower. Guest guest
Call the health department and ask them to inspect the pool. Most pools are not maintained to public health standards. If they know they are being watched, then they might be more vigilant with proper maintenance. Heated pools require daily maintenance, at least, and chemicals precipitate faster at higher temperatures. Some pool operators will over chlorinate heated pools in order to reduce labor costs. But this violated health code in most jurisdictions. On Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 2:26 PM, Rouse <michael.hugh.rouse@... > wrote: > Phil, > > Showering afterwords may help. Guest guest
Just depends on the operator of the pool. I was swimming in a health club pool, where the water was often cloudy, and I would have skin problems. I complained to management, and they did nothing. So, I called the health department, and things improved for a while. Eventually, I switched to swimming in the pool of the local university. Even though it was a very large pool, the water was always crystal clear, and it never smelled or tasted like chlorine. I never had any skin problems when I swam in that well maintained pool. For those of you who swim, it has also been found that swimmers who swim in pools with improper chemical levels suffer from more dental problems than swimmers who swim in well maintained pools. Guest guest
Iv'e asked a friend who works with people that have special need's, he takes them swimming sometimes in there own heated therapy pool, he said that they have there own maintainance man who is very vigilant, he flashes the pool with chlorine every night and he has seen some user's that react to the higher levels in the morning, but he also said they probably use a higher level of chlorine in case of accidents by the service user's, so in summary for what it's worth, it could be high levels of chlorine, or if the maintenance staff are slack the pool could be dirty, i was flashing my outdoor pool at night last summer and the water would be crystal clear in the morning with no adverse effects, just a thought, keep on trucking Phil On 22 March 2011 13:56, Spanky <spankysd@...> wrote: > Just depends on the operator of the pool. Guest guest
Well I think that antibacterial stuff is pointless. Really, soap just needs to wash away bacteria and dirt. That's the way it worked for many decades! That stuff is also linked to causing drug-resistant superbugs. I think the stuff reeks really bad and I stopped using soap at businesses as I'd usually get " triclosan-ed " and have stinky hands for hours after. -Nigel On 27 March 2011 09:06, philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> wrote: > > > Not to worry most of us here are all ready on TRT. > > Co-Moderator > Phil > > > > > From: Tim <t.skillen@...> > > Subject: Re: Re: Walking in a Hot pool. > > > > Date: Saturday, March 26, 2011, 5:19 PM > > > You know something Phil, google can > > be a let down at times, > > > http://onemansblog.com/2008/06/02/anti-bacterial-soap-inhibits-testosterone-prod\ uction/ > > >
Guest guest
Besides, the blog that is linked to got it exactly backwards. The UC study found that triclocarban INCREASES testosterone production. Here is a link to a wiki article which mentions it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triclocarban There are numerous other sources, if you google it. Guest guest
It says cellular testosterone signal is increased. Wouldn't that lead to suppressing LH/FSH signal and decreasing blood testosterone levels? I just don't see ANY reason to use those antibacterial soaps regardless of what harm they may or may not cause. -Nigel On 28 March 2011 06:15, Spanky <spankysd@...> wrote: > Besides, the blog that is linked to got it exactly backwards.
