The blog that was posted here did not quite accurately reflect the finding of the UC study which were: The researchers found two key effects: In human cells in the laboratory, triclocarban increased gene expression that is normally regulated by testosterone. And when male rats were fed triclocarban, testosterone-dependent organs such as the prostate gland grew abnormally large. The net effect was an increase in testosterone levels. The most important thing to know is that triclocarban, and it is turning out more and more chemicals we are using, is an endocrine system disruptor. Nothing is conclusive, at this point.
