Guest guest
I've been taking immediate-release niacin for 8 years now. If I hadn't been, my HDL would really have tanked. Guest guest
I've tried Twinlabs capsules and tablets from Endurance Products. It's slightly cheaper from Endurance products. Their tablets also take longer to dissolve, so I don't get the flush from my bedtime dose. I used to take 4 to 5 grams a day in two to three divided doses. However, at that dose, whenever I split the dose into three times a day, my liver enzymes became elevated. I've reduced my dose to 1 gram three times a day and my liver enzymes are fine. Maximum HDL elevation occurs at around 3 grams a day. Doses higher than that lower LDL more strongly. I've recently started taking quercetin 500 mg with my niacin and it does reduce the flushing somewhat. I'm very fair skinned so I still have a noticeable flush but quercetin lessens that considerably. Guest guest
I LOVE the flush from nicotinic acid (flush type niacin). I take one gram Twinlab immediate-release capsules and if I take them on an empty stomach I start flushing within a few minutes. It starts with a brief metallic taste in my mouth. Then I turn dark red on my face and eventually the flushing moves down the body ending in the legs. I have scaly skin on the backs of my hands that stays away if I take a gram of niacin at least every few days. Niacin is also supposed to lower oxidative stress and I'm pretty sure I've got too much of that going on in me. If you keep taking the niacin the flush will start to subside. Some have it go away completely. I don't recommend the extended-release nicotinic acid as it was hard for me to predict when and if it would flush. I recently read you're supposed to stop niacin for a few days before testing liver enzymes, by the way. -Nigel On 22 March 2011 17:03, Rouse <michael.hugh.rouse@...> wrote: > where to you get immediate release niacin? > > On Tue, Mar 22, 2011 at 4:01 PM, Ed T <eterrys@...> wrote: > > > > > > > I've been taking immediate-release niacin for 8 years now. Guest guest
Phil, Thanks for the explanation about how high E2 can cause sore muscles and joints! My doctor has always said that high or low E2 can cause joint pain, but I have only experienced it when I had low E2. Your explanation makes sense since my SHBG levels always tend to be on the lower side (my max SHBG has been in the mid 20s). Even when my E2 was above 100, I never experienced muscle or joint pain, but my SHBG was something like 10 at that time due to insulin resistance. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of philip georgian Sent: Tuesday, March 22, 2011 3:07 PM Subject: RE: Tesosterone very high , Dam good point and E2 never says at the same levels I do labs every 6 to 8 weeks. On some days I feel like I am to high my labs show I am to low as we go to low to long we end up in pain and have bone loss. Joint and muscle pain is not from Testosterone but from low Estradiol some men even have sore joints and muscles from high E2 levels. SHBG goes up binds up T and Free T ends up to low so we end up not supporting the joints and muscles. Guest guest
I am new to group. Thanks for all the insights so far. What is an acceptable level testing just before the next shot. I have been using creams for several years and have recently switched to shots, so trying to get the dosage right. I have struggled with e2 levels without knowing it, but the you have helped me manage that now - just want to get the injection dosage correct. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: romrelllj > > > > <romrelllj@> > > > > > > > > > Subject: > > > > Tesosterone very > > > > > > high > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Saturday, March > > 19, 2011, > > > > 9:32 PM > > > > > > > > > I have been doing 50 mg > > of test > > > > twice > > > > > > > > > a week along with HCG > > 250 as > > > > reccomended my > > > > > > > > Testoserone is > > > > > > > > > very high like 1400 is > > there any > > > > danger in > > > > > > haveing > > > > > > > > that high > > > > > > > > > of testosterone. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Clyde and Welcome, The best levels are by starting out doing shots 100 mgs / week and testing in about 8 weeks do labs the day of your next shot but before it. As a rule men try to get there Total Testosterone levels up into the upper 1/3 of there labs range but how you feel comes first if you feel dam good at lower levels go with it you will have less problems with Estraidol if your can keep your levels between 600 to 800 top of range 1100. Some men doing feel good doing shots once a week and feel better doing them 2x's / weeks so this would be 50 mgs 2x's / week. Others like my self do there Test C shots every 3 days I feel my best doing this my last set of labs my Total T was 667 Free T was 112 Bio T was 216 SHBG was 28 Estradiol was 21. I was doing 100 mgs every 3 days and having big problems with Estradiol. So we cut my dose down to 70 mgs ever 3 days my labs on 100 mgs every 3 days were. Testosterone, Total 917 range 250 – 1100 ng/dL. Testosterone, Free 201.0 range 46.0 – 224.0 pg/mL. Testosterone, Bioavailable 395.9 range 110.0 to 575.0 ng/dL. SHBG 22 range 17 – 54 nmol/L. Estradiol 8 I was eating up my T meds as fast as I could take them due to pain. Now my pain is much better but things like pain, stress even the flu can eat up T meds your body will use them up very fast. Most of us here do are own shots I use a small 27g 1ml x 1/2 " lg. needle and shoot into my thigh. Guest guest
A lot has to do with your age weight and SHBG levels the higher SHBG is the lower your Free Testostreone and the more joint and muscle pain. We all are not the same most men don't have sore joints and muscles with high E2 levels.
