Guest guest
..8mL would work out to 400UI. Perhaps he is expecting a loss of a certain amount due to the needle type. So here are my calculations... Total of 20mL of fluid with 10000UI in 20mL. That works out to about 500UI per mL. 0.8mL would equal 400 UI (500*0.8=400). Now, unfortunately, the pharmacist followed the IM injection model for the syringes and gave me the same type that I use to inject my T. 3ml, 22g, 1.5 inch. I will fix that later and get smaller. > > Here's my question. . .This stuff is 10,000 USP Units/vial. It is a 10mL multidose vial with 10mL of solvent. The solvent bottle states that it is " bacteriostatic water for injection with sodium chloride. " Okay. ..so I know I'm supposed to mix the contents of the liquid-containing vial with the HCG vial. But here's where I'm confused. The pharmacist's note says that he talked to my doctor (who had prescribed 250 IU per dose) and because of the size of the needle, the doc told him to tell me to use .8mL. I am not good at the math/conversion here. . .is .8mL equivalent to 250 IU? > > > > >
Guest guest
I think I replyed to this post but feel the need be sure you understand about this. Don't do a .8 ml shot don't use a big needle use a 30g x 1/2 " lg. needle. To do a shot with 10,000 IU's/10mls in the vial mixed it's a .25 mls shot to do 250 IU's.
