Guest guest
1) Immediately upon removing the needle press on the injection spot with a alcohol swab for a good 2-3 minutes - press firmly. This will stop the charlie horse pain you spoke about. The pain is a result of blood getting into the muscle. Even a little blood will cause discomfort. 2) With a 23 ga. needle you shouldn't have had that much difficulty withdrawing the meds though you didn't clarify what you mean when you said it was difficult. That said, it will come out sort of like thin molasses (or thick pancake syrup) with that size of a needle. If it took say, 30-60 seconds to get ..5ml, that's about right - that's what I see (I use a 22 ga. needle to withdraw the T out of the vial). Make sure you shake the vial (just a litle) at first. If you shake it too much (too long or too hard), you will get those tiny air bubble - at least that's what I've been able to determine from my experience. I shake it very mildly, just 3-4 mild shakes. When I used to shake it more ferocioulsy, I would get those tiny air bubbles. Others might have ideas as to how to prevent the tiny bubbles. If the vial is warm-ish the oil will flow better. I hear some guys put it in their hands or pocket or some such thing in an attempt to warm it up. I don't do anything like that and it works okay for me. ly, it only takes a minute ...... Others who are better at this (more experienced than me) may ask why you are injecting .5 ml once a week - I'm assuming it's once a week. Many of us find that a twice weekly shot regiment is better than a once a week regiment. We split the dose in half. You get less of the " hill and valley " effect and it will help keep your estrogen more level. The " feel " you felt in the plunger when you pulled it back is correct. You don't have to pull that hard - if there's blood, it will show with a reasonable amout of pull. Good luck, Bill ________________________________ From: Dave <dcbaden@...> Sent: Sun, October 17, 2010 9:52:09 AM Subject: First self injection. How did I do?  This morning I self injected 1/2 ml of Test. Enthanate. 1.5 " 23ga needle. First thing I noticed was that it was a b*tch to get the oil into the syringe. I tried injecting air into the vial, but the only thing that worked was going really really slowly. When I finally got enough oil into the syringe there were a lot of bubbles. I kept flicking and snapping the syringe until the larger ones were gone. There were a few tiny ones left, but there was no way they were going anywhere. I injected into my side right thigh muscle. It went in okay. As per some youtube videos I found, it was painless once I pricked the skin. I tried to aspirate, but it was like pulling against a 100lb weight. The plunger went nowhere - I took this as a good sign. I then slowly pressed the plunger until it would go no more. Then removed the needle. When I took apart the needle, it had a micro drop of blood that came out. I didn't thing this was significant. The only effect I felt out the whole ordeal was a minor charlie horse in that muscle. How did I do? Another question: I'm transitioning from gels. Should I overlap a bit and apply gel for another day or two, or can I call it quits? I'd LOVE to call it quits, BTW

Injection was not deep enough so I had a lot of pain. Now i ask my wife to give it into my butt. No problem now We use a 23G needle . about the gel i wont mind to overlap in a day the injected T will dissolve into your muscle and slowly release in your body and by day 2 normal levels should be seen. Guest guest
Wow 23g 1 and a 1/2 " lg. needle I got them at my Dr.'s office in my back side. I do my shots this way using a 27g 1ml X 1/2 " lg needle. I do a .5 ml shot every 3 days. So I pull .5 mls of air into the needle then I push this into the vial I turn the Vail upside down and pull the plunger all the way down and hold it. The oil comes out slow so I sit there and wait takes about a min. or two. I then tap the air bobbles to the top of the needle and I push the extra oil back into the vial. I then plant the needle into the outer upper side of my thigh then I pull back hard on the needle looking for blood if you don't get blood it looks like a gap of a little air. I then slow and you need to show T show into my thigh then I rub it with the pad and that is it. Some times I will get some blood come out when I with draw the needle don't worry about his it means you might have went through a vain. Some men say you need a longer needle I have been doing this for yrs. my levels are very good. Some men use a bigger needle I don't it hurts. Guest guest
Thanks all. Will follow up on the suggestions. 1/2 ml = 100 mg. Doc prescribed 4ml 1x per month! I'm splitting that into quarters. So If I feel hills and valley's as you suggest, I suppose I can do 1/4 ml 2x week, but I'm not too excited about the prospect of doing this twice per week. I guess I'll see how it goes. > > 1) Immediately upon removing the needle press on the injection spot with a > alcohol swab for a good 2-3 minutes - press firmly. This will stop the charlie > horse pain you spoke about. The pain is a result of blood getting into the > muscle. Even a little blood will cause discomfort. > > 2) With a 23 ga. needle you shouldn't have had that much difficulty withdrawing > the meds though you didn't clarify what you mean when you said it was > difficult. That said, it will come out sort of like thin molasses (or thick > pancake syrup) with that size of a needle. If it took say, 30-60 seconds to get > .5ml, that's about right - that's what I see (I use a 22 ga. needle to withdraw > the T out of the vial). > > Make sure you shake the vial (just a litle) at first. If you shake it too much > (too long or too hard), you will get those tiny air bubble - at least that's > what I've been able to determine from my experience. I shake it very mildly, > just 3-4 mild shakes. When I used to shake it more ferocioulsy, I would get > those tiny air bubbles. Others might have ideas as to how to prevent the tiny > bubbles. > > If the vial is warm-ish the oil will flow better. I hear some guys put it in > their hands or pocket or some such thing in an attempt to warm it up. I don't > do anything like that and it works okay for me. ly, it only takes a minute > ..... > > > Others who are better at this (more experienced than me) may ask why you are > injecting .5 ml once a week - I'm assuming it's once a week. Many of us find > that a twice weekly shot regiment is better than a once a week regiment. We > split the dose in half. You get less of the " hill and valley " effect and it > will help keep your estrogen more level. > > The " feel " you felt in the plunger when you pulled it back is correct. You > don't have to pull that hard - if there's blood, it will show with a reasonable > amout of pull. > > Good luck, > Bill > > > > ________________________________ > From: Dave <dcbaden@...> > > Sent: Sun, October 17, 2010 9:52:09 AM > Subject: First self injection. Guest guest
After the discussion of needle sizes here, I tried a 30G needle yesterday. It took a while to fill with 0.4 cc, but probably less than a minute. I gotta say, I did not feel the 30G needle at all going into my thigh. I will probably use 25G X 1 from now on, as they are plentiful. It doesn't bother me to take a few minutes to do it, for the advantage of a smaller needle. I have been injecting ED meds for about 12 years now. Sticking to the smaller gauge needles has kept the scar tissue away (in my opinion). One of the risks with repeated injection in any site, especially one like the penis, is scar tissue. I go to a urologist once per year for an exam. All he checks for is scar tissue. So, based on my experience there, I would rather spend a bit more time loading the injection in order to reduce the risk of complications over time. Also, these oil injections are supposed to be injected slowly. The smaller diameter needle helps with that. You just can't push it in fast, if the needle is small gauge. As for bruising and pain... apply pressure for a while after the injection. It helps a lot, as Phil has already pointed out. It can make the difference between a big bruise and no bruise at all. Guest guest
I fill the syringe using an 18 gauge needle and then switch the needle to a 26 gauge to inject it. This seems to work well for me. Although the 18 gauge needle does make a good sized hole in the vial's rubber top, it seems to heal itself. Don't toss the gel. If you should run out of test, you can always substitute this until you get the prescription filled. Before starting HCG, I was using the gel between shots to keep my test levels on a more even keel. > > This morning I self injected 1/2 ml of Test.
