know what you mean Terry--every year up here there are several supposed

'hunting accidents' Luckily - we don't hunt anymore (Ken & I)!!! Seems like

it's always somebody's relative accidently shooting another relation....Where

used to live (we had horses & during hunting season we'd have to put red or

orange blankets on our horses to keep them for being mistaken for deer or

Elk We ran off quite a few hunters? from shooting into our property or on

our property.....They never seem to read the signs you post!! @ that time we

lived @ the near the end of a logging road-it actually went thru to several

other logging roads & we had a lot of problems with city hunters & local

poachers Finally we got Tree farm manager to put up a huge gate- they gave

us the key for this gate- as we used to get our firewood on the property

That's a tough question, I know. I had to wrestle with

that myself. You can surf the internet and find a lot

of stuff about ADHD. If that's even the problem. It's

a very touchy subject. -dz-

to the heath food store and tell them you want something for ADHD and they

Machelle, our daughter was on Ritalin from around 7

or 8 till around 13. Ritalin on a child pre puberty is

like a downer suppress the hyperactive. But when a

child reaches puberty Ritalin is an upper.

had no ill side affects from the Ritalin. It did help

her sit in class & do her school work.

We had to stop the ritalin after she reached

puberty. Other mental problems set in that she still

has today, she will be 25 next month. Her problems

after puberty had nothing do with the Rialin. She

inherited from her natural father. She reminds Susy so

much of her Ex it's scary. hasn't seen him

seance she was 3 years old, I adopted her when she was

5.

was seen by three doctors, before we

srtarted her on it. They all agread that the Ritalin

would help. There is some kids on it that shouldn't

be. That's why you need to be carefull. If it's just a

behavor problem & not a medical problem the Ritalin.

The Ritalin wont help.

Hi Machelle

I just saw a show on tv about Ritalin this week. I heard that children that

are on Ritalin are about 80% less likely to abuse drugs in their teens than

children who are not. This was a statement from the drug company so I don't

really know about the validity of it.

My therapist told me much the same thing. Although

this being in hindsight. He suggested that people with

ADD may be subconciously trying to medicate themselves

and untreated ADD patients had a greater likelihood of

having trouble with substance abuse. Attention deficit

is a misleading idea. There is a good book out there

" driven to distraction " . The thing is that too much

outside stimulus is being taken in becoming

overwhelming and making it hard to focus on the thing

you want to focus on. -dz-

I would say this is true. So many times if there are things like this eventually the attmept comes to self medicate and that is with alcohol and drugs and abuse of those things. Just some food for thought Re: [ ] The Bad Guy>>> I suffered from ADHD as a child (I still do). It was> undetected then and I just went through school trying> to get through. Growing up in the rual midwest, I heard of several

stories about farmers losing a cow & bull, When some

city person was hunting & misstake the poor farmer's

cow or bull For a Dear. I even heard a story on one

farmer white washing COW on each side of his cow and

some city person would still shoot the poor farmers

cow.
