It takes about 1500 mgs to start problem is the cost Dr.'s are over changing for

this and it is only good for 3 months if your lucky. It's to bad Inc. Co.'s

will not cover this any of it last I heard. At one time one could get pellets

for about $500 the firs time seeing a Dr. for this then the cost for the next

set should be about half. If you could find a place that would tell you the

cost of each pellet you would see what I am saying. You can get Test C a 10 ml

vial for about $25 to $100 that will last up to 20 weeks this is just under 5

months and if you do your shots every 3 days or 2x's a week you can stay dam

near as leveled as the pellets.

So I don't see the point in them anymore plus this if you have a problem and

need to lower your levels you need them cut out.

We used 8 pellets-we will use 10 next time and labs performed after six weeks.

We should add this urologist to our data base for Nashville-he is excellent.

Is this 8 200 mg. pellets or 8 75 mg pellets. I can see the 200 mgs pellets

working. Yes you can add him to the list.

It was eight 200 mg pellets. I am totally sold on this treatment option. The

procedure took 10 minutes the only after affect was a bruise on my behind that

went away in a week. No pain-the doc did use a couple of sutures to close the

site and insure the pellets did not come out. My insurance paid $500 as the

negotiated rate and all I paid was $50--much cheaper than Androgel

Man O Man that sounds good to men I wish he was near by me. I feel from what I

know about pellets and they have been out a long long time it's the best forum

of TRT if the Dr. uses the right dose of pellets. Your very lucky and I am

betting your going to do great on this.

Jeff,

I have a couple of questions for you.

Are these 200mg pellets really Testopel brand or Bioidentical or what?

As far as I can find Testopel only comes as 75mg pellets.

I've had one round of Testopel 75mg pellets but my endo is afraid to give me

enough. My blood test results with (10) 75mg was only 250 after a month and

again after 3 months. I had 200mg Testosterone pellets done a couple of weeks

ago from a different doctor. He implanted (11) 200mg and (2) 100mg pellets -

total 2400mg. They are 200mg and 100mg Bioidentical Pellets from Solutions

Pharmacy. My new doctor has used these pellets and the SottoPelle

philosphy/therapy for years.

I've had great results so far with energy and libdo. Will do blood test in a

couple of more weeks.

For your insurance to pay, what procedure codes and other codes were used? What

I've been able to find is 11980 is the implant procedure code and S0189 is for

the 75mg pellets. There doesn't seem to be a code for 200mg pellets other than

J3490 which is unclassified drug. So interested to know what codes you

submitted to your insurance.

Thanks!!

Hank

I am sorry the EOB does not list codes, however the detail was as follows:

office visit-$53

Surgery-$200

Injectable medication-$800

From these charges insurance paid $602 and I was left to pay $30

I am scheduled for Jan for my next pellet implant whic is four months following

the last one

Jeff, if you don't mind, could you ask your doctor's office about the codes? I

would really really appreciate it.

I think we are using basically the same kind of pellets - 200mg and I would like

to get my insurance to pay for these like they did for the 75mg pellets. My ins

paid 100% for procedure and pellets for the 75mg pellets.

Thanks,

Hank

The best advice I can give you is to have your sperm tested if it's good have

some frozen for a back up. A lot of men on TRT make baby's the ones that can't

I feel were very low on sperm before going on TRT. Some men with good sperm go

off TRT take HCG until they make a baby and then go back on TRT.

I don't know a lot about how they do this you can try post about this at Dr.

's forum men there have made baby's.

bottom of the lab range for free/bioavailable T, my doctor has recommended

Testopel. He has treated close to 500 patients over the years with great results

and minimal complications.

open as far as having kids is concerned. I understand TRT is " for life " - but is

there a chance I can re-start things after my 4 month " trial " is over or am I

pretty much screwed?

HI Steve and Welcome,

What mgs. were each pellet if 75 mgs each this is too low a dose most men need

1500 mgs of pellets.

This is why I don't use them can't find an Dr. up on doing them they don't give

enough to last 3 months. For a cost of $1000 to $1500 each time only to have it

last 30 days this is a rip off.

And I feel Dr.'s that do this are doing it for the money maybe 12 75 mgs pellets

will work for women not men. I like the idea about pellets you get a steady

level of T and it helps keep Estraidol down this is the bad guy for TRT going

high it will kill your sex life. So all ways test this and keep it down using

Arimidex or Indolplex/DIM a supplement.

Here is a cut and paste from ernestnolan he has been on pellets for over 20 yrs

seen one of the best Dr.'s for this here is a cut and paste of one of his posts.

To read more go the home page and in messages do a search " ernestnolan pellets "

you will find a ton of info and if you need more Email him.

===================================================

It has been a long time since I visited and mentioned pellets.

My experience with pellets goes back to 1991 when I started receiving 20 - 75 mg

pellet under the skin on my hip below my belt every 4 months.

The dosage goes back to Dr. Greenblatt who pioneered in hormone therapy as early

as the 1950'w. Many of his journal articles still exist on the internet. Men who

are no longer above 250 T should have their T elevated to above 800 to receive

the full benefit of the therapy.

Based on weight, subtract 30 pounds from the patients total weight and then for

every 10 pounds remaining he should receive a 75 mg pellet. The body stops

producing its own source of T when this starts and the pellets are the total

source of T.

Now 78 working at Lowe's in the electrical department feeling great.

You can not feel great unless your level is over 800 IMHO.

I have lost 2 endocrinologists due to their age, beginning in 1991 with Dr. Sipi

of N. Bergen, NJ then Dr. Gambrell of Augusta, GA. Now being treated Dr.

Natrajan also of Augusta (same office) who also treats patients in Atlanta on

Fridays.

I care for his web site:

http://Natrajan.on-theweb.com

Searching on the internet with appropriate keywords may find more these days.

Testopel is expensive but the same strength as other cheaper 75 mg hormone

pellets on the market.

There are very few doctors providing hormone pellets but many do not give enough

for the patient to enjoy the benefits.

First implant was 12 pellets, 75 mg each. I have to get bloodwork done at 4

weeks to see where the levels are, and then every month to see how the

levels peak and begin to fall off.He needs to see how often I need new ones.

Another thing he'll be treating is testicular atrophy when that begins.

Was Androgel a few years back and hated that.

Well I think your going to know how your doing most pellet Dr. I have talked to

put them in take your money tell you to come back in 3 months. As for your

Testis men on Pellets still need to shoot HCG 250 IU's every 3 days to keep them

working.
