Guest guest
I have been on testosterone for 8 weeks, last week started HCG for one injection, got gout 2 days later. I thought it was because of something I ate, but its the HCG, as I have figured out this week after another HCG injection. I have had gout attacks for the last year, I get them pretty easy now, since the crystals have already formed in my big toe joints. I took colchisine to bring it away from a full blown attack. I then started taking allopurinol, which will reduce my bodies production of uric acid. Its keeping my gout at bay, but I think I will have to wait a couple of weeks before I do any more HCG. My gout has been caused by reactions to high blood pressure meds and my body produces a lot of uric acid. I am hoping that bringing my uric acid level down will help me deal with taking HCG again. I don't see dr. crisler until next month.

Guest guest
Now that I have figured out that the two are related, its not so bad. The terrible part of gout is how it gets worse over a few hours and when you can't stop it, or you don't know what it is and you put ice on it, then it gets really bad. I did a search and found some caution about the hcg diet and gout, stating that hcg raises uric acid levels. This week it won't get in the way of my workout, but all of this is making me question competing next month in a competition until I have a few months with all the hormones in good ranges. I especially appreciate being able to talk about this here because taking the hcg is freaking my wife out, and my doctor is happy to have my test levels at 492...f*** that. In general the hcg makes me feel better. > > > From: Billjustin <billjustin@...> > > Subject: HCG and Gout.. anybody dealt with this? > > > > Date: Thursday, March 11, 2010, 3:46 PM > > I have been on testosterone for 8 > > weeks, last week started HCG for one injection, got gout 2 > > days later. > > > > I thought it was because of something I ate, but its the > > HCG, as I have figured out this week after another HCG > > injection. > > > > I have had gout attacks for the last year, I get them > > pretty easy now, since the crystals have already formed in > > my big toe joints.
