Guest guest
Hi EveryOne, Often low blood pressure comes from adrenal fatigue of one degree or another For some people it is enough to make sure they have sufficient salt and water. It is often suggested to add a pinch of natural sea salt like Celtic Salt to water and drink it first thing in the morning. Salt your food. The opposite of what you would do if you had high blood pressure:-)) Drink enough water throughout the day. A good idea when drinking KT anyway! If you still have problems with low blood pressure, particularly if you feel faint or light headed when you stand suddenly from lying down or sitting, you may have adrenal issues. I made a website for Thyroid-Adrenal issues as I have learned quite a bit about them from my own experience lately. http://www.bestweb.net/~om/thyroid There you will find suggestions, information and resources about how to support your adrenal gland. It helps with low blood pressure and hypoglycemia also. To Your Health!!! Guest guest
First another word about BUZZ and lowering BP. My previous suggestions were a cautionary as I am still investing this thought. A lot depends upon the individual's unique mood and references the time. I reported the cautionary because I am in a position (as a reseller dealing with a great many people) and I am trying to piece together something that seems to be common among a few. We more often only hear the great things about kombucha. So I continue to be interested in all comments on this and people may contact me off-list if they so choose - but onlist is certainly of value to all. Cayenne may be added after fermentation. Which is what I normally recommend for adding herbs. However Harald Tietz (Kombucha Miracle Fungus) a well known herbalist and kombucha brewer does add herbs along with black/green tea to the ferment. All with good results. I also add cayenne to the ferment and sell the extract. I do this with a few other herbs like essiac . Personally I think the KT/cayenne or KT/essiac not to be tasty. So the pressed extract (pressing the mushroom) produces a stronger concentrated extract that is more easily taken as a few drops in water to achieve certain affects. I use powdered cayenne pepper. Available in different H.U. (heating units) from the milder 40,000 to yes hot 1.5 million !! I have also used fresh garden picked, as well as store bought dried cayenne's. You can add to the water- tea - sugar (cayenne powder in t-Bag) seep and then remove tea and cayenne. Then ferment. or add whole peppers to the ferment (while fermenting). The powder is not advisable here. Or afterwards adding the whole (fresh or dried) pepper to the finished KT. IMO the powdered cayenne in t-bags (along with the black/green tea) is the strongest synergy. note: cayenne pepper is used not jalapeƱo or sernoes or chilies as research has been specific to cayenne not other hot peppers. But you are of course free to use as you taste. Brewing Kombucha Pictures online http://www.happyherbalist.com/pictures.htm Enjoy Your Health, Ed Kasper L.Ac. California Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist www.HappyHerbalist.com eddy@... RE: Low blood pressure Some general comments on adding herbs to KT Herbs like the following may be brewed along with black or green tea to tweak KT more to one's preferences. Hawthorne (Shan Zha) (50%) oxygenates the heart muscle, regulates blood pressure Cayenne (20%) stimulates and strengthens the circulatory and cardiomusculary system Shepherds Purse (30%) regulates blood pressure or they may be taken simply as a tea. however only Hawthorne has a pleasing taste. or they may be made as full strength and added to the already brewed KT. Diuretics (causes urination, like coffee and lesser so tea) have a tendency to reduce blood pressure due to the loss of water from the blood vessels. Salt also affects the water % causing more retention. As does the potassium/calcium exchange affect the total volume of the blood vessels. Most health guidelines are more focused on less salt and to lower blood pressure which our society is overly aggressive. As they arise from different sources [irregular blood pressure] Traditional Chinese Medicine makes several distinctions (differential diagnosis) as well as modifications to the numerous herbal formulas designed to balance health. With kombucha I recommend drinking the minimum of 1/2 of your body weight in fluid ounces of pure (distilled better) water daily. So if you weigh 100 pounds drink 50 oz of water. Drink 1/2 of that amount before 10 am. Drink an additional 16 fl oz of water for every cup of coffee or carbonated drink. Guest guest
Shan. the recommendation of drinking % water per day means drinking __only pure fresh water__. Not the liquid that is in tea, coffee, juice, KT etc. I have personally found that by switching to a glass of water instead of coffee or tea etc at mealtimes and snack times - although at first difficult - soon passes and I no longer crave the other drinks. But it is more of a habit and difficult to break for many. Could you clarify for me please if this water one needs to drink - can this include the liquid Kombucha tea? If one drinks say, 4 cups of kombucha tea a day, can one deduct this from the total amount of water one needs to drink a day? Blessings Shan <<snipped>> .... Guest guest
I have always had low blood pressure and recently read about it being a symptom of low adrenals. I also read that high blood pressure can be symptoms of the same. Anything lower than 118 for the top number indicates adrenal weakness. Certain diseases have been asociated with low blood pressure. I started increasing natural sodium in my diet by making sure I eat 3 or 4 sticks of celery a day. I use the celtic sea salt too. Dark circles under the eyes are also indicators of low adrenals. Someone mentioned that a teaspoon of celery seeds (ground) made into a tea is good for kidneys and adrenals and helps the dark circles disappear. The recommendation is to take this 3 times a day. I have noticed that this works with taking it once a day for a few days. A little salt with it makes it taste like a broth. I get a lot of energy from Kombucha. I feel a strengthening of all systems. I am working a lot of hours during this holiday season and am amazed at the stamina I have. When I have more time next week I am going to experiment by dusting off our blood pressure machine and using it before and after drinking kombucha. I was happy to see that the upper number was 111 the other day, it's often under 100. Thanks to everyone for posting on this subject. It's very helpful. I passed out recently and on the way to ER the diastolic was down to 27 at one point. I took fludrocortisone for a few days to satisfy the doctor but then dropped it. Just didn't want to do a steroid. ==>Hi Marge. It's good to hear from you. I had very low blood pressure which went to normal in 2 weeks with good ocean sea salt. For 2 weeks you should get as much sea salt as you can, and then level off to 1 1/2 tsp in electrolyte drink plus what you add to foods normally. My doctor even told me to shake the salt on my hand and lick it off as often as I could. > Can this be related to the Candida? ==>It can, but not necessarily. I didn't have candida when I had abnormally low blood pressure, but taking enough ocean sea salt corrected it totally. Good ocean sea salt is important for health - see the articles in the Salt Folder for more information. Luv, Bee
Guest guest
So really, it is a very dodgy thing to take some supplements because none of us can *know* exactly what *our* bodies need! We could imbalance things really easily and cause more problems I suppose. Dee -- Low Blood Pressure Women with TIRED ADRENALS usually get a lot of benefit from using natural Progesterone cream. Licorice is a very adrenal-supportive herb but needs to be used in moderation because it CAN ALSO RAISE ESTROGEN LEVELS. You can use Licorice in tea, tincture or capsule form. Guest guest
I agree with Dee but have to point out that in many cases an educated guess to put one in the ballpark of " less deficient " is better than doing nothing. I mean, we all are glutahtione deficient, because that's why we're sick; looking at diet alone we can see that most of us are also magnesium deficient, selenium deficient, potassium deficient, vitamin b deficient etc... The body will purge excess, so it's not so easy to imbalance and get into trouble, and no deaths occur from vitamin supplementation. So, a better reply would take all that into account and name the relative danger of the supplement under discussion. To keep your blood pressure and pulse rate normal ensure you have enough good ocean sea salt (at least 1 1/2 tsps. per day, either in the Electrolyte Drink or added to foods, and maybe even more for awhile). Years ago my blood pressure and pulse rate were so low my doctor became alarmed, so he referred me to a specialist. My pulse lying down as only 55 bpm. So I wore a heart monitor for 19 hours, and my heart was fine. The specialist told me to consume much more salt, even if I had to put it in my hand and lick it off several times a day; of course he didn't know I used good ocean sea salt. 2 weeks later my blood pressure and pulse were normal. So try it for at least 2 weeks and then get your blood pressure and pulse re-checked. Luv, Bee

Very scary. Now, 23 months later, my bp is normal and my hands and feet don't get nearly as cold as they used to. I used to feel faint and dizzy when standing too quickly and that hasn't happened for over a year. The electrolyte drink gets both salt and fluid into your body and you need both to keep bp normal. To help out my liver and therefore hormone (thyroid and female) functions, I take 1/2 tsp. ground milk thistle powder twice a day and that seems to have helped, along with the supplements. I just put it in my mouth, chew it and wash it down. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Bee, I'm so grateful to have found you! My body and mind have received so many benefits from this diet, it's truly a miracle.

Guest guest
Low Blood Pressure(Hypotension) Poor nutrient assimilation in the body and an insufficient dietary regimen can aggravate the severity of a lowered blood pressure in affected individuals. A poor diet can be supported by proper supplementation of vital and essential minerals and other nutrients. The most important of these supplements are the vitamins B, C and E, all of which must be present in the diet in sufficient amounts. Though all the vitamins in a supplement of the major B complex vitamin can lead to an increase in the stamina and energy levels, some of the B vitamins, particularly the pantothenic acid is the regarded as more important in supporting the functioning of the adrenal gland-thus supplements of this vitamin is a must in all individuals affected by hypotension. The strength of the walls of the blood vessels is maintained by supplements of the vitamin C and this should always be taken along with the plant based natural compounds known as the bioflavonoids, both of these supplements also improve the bodyās resistance to infection from various pathogens and viruses. The supply of oxygen within the cellular machinery is improved and bolstered by supplements of the vitamin E, and all patients suffering from a lowering of the blood pressure must be supplemented this vitamin in proper and regular doses. Individuals affected by a lowering of the blood pressure also often experience a sluggish functioning of the thyroid glands, the green food supplement of the seaweed kelp is a supplemental food very rich in minerals and it effectively improves the functioning of the sluggish thyroid gland. The herbal supplements of bee pollen can positive effect all endocrine glands within the body, and it also aids in the stimulation of overall strength and increases the energy levels within the body of the affected individual. The following herbs and herbal remedies can be used as supplements in stimulating the circulation and certain important glands, the given herbal juices will aid in alleviating the symptoms related to a lowered blood pressure in an individual. Dosage of any of these herbal remedies can be a tbsp. of the herbal juice thrice every day during the treatment period. Herbal remedies such as licorice root and the hyssop have a very positive effect on the functioning of all the endocrine glands, they help stimulate the overall strength and boost the energy levels in all affected individuals. Blood pressure is raised by the action of the hyssop when enhanced with supplements of the seaweed kelp; these two supplements also stimulate the glands within the body and alleviate the other physical symptoms associated with hypotension. Another herbal remedy is to drink the juice of the rosemary leaves which has been steeped in some aged red wine, dosage of this herbal juice can be a tbsp. every day to function as a heart tonic. The lowered blood pressure is also increased by supplements of the Siberian ginseng, the root of the goldenseal herb, the root of the ginger, spirulina and the miracle herb ginkgo biloba, all of these herbs also stimulate the circulatory system at the same time and ease symptoms associated with the condition. The heart is fortified by supplements of the hawthorn berries and the garlic; these herbs also regulate blood pressure in individuals affected by the lowering of blood pressure. Circulation is also stimulated by alternative techniques such as hydrotherapy, these techniques include taken daily, alternating showers using hot and cold water, and other forms of these techniques include sessions of water stepping and dew walking on a grassy lawn. The importance of regular physical exercise cannot be overemphasized in all patients affected by the condition. To improve health and to promote physical well being, regularly walk, hike or cycle and swim outdoors as often as you can-these activities will improve the ability of the body to resist disease and other infections. Circulation in the skin can be stimulated by regular morning sessions of dry-brushing and massaging. Before rising out of bed in the mornings start exercises such as moving and flexing the toes, and activities such as pulling the knees up and down to the body. Jumping suddenly out of bed in the morning can result in sudden dizzy spells; therefore get up slowly in the morning after a full night of sleep. Circulation can be negatively affected by clothing that is made from all kinds of artificial fibers and synthetic clothes make sure that any clothing you use is made from natural fibers such as cotton, artificial clothing interferes with the body's natural electric field-this can disturb the circulation within the body. SupplementationKelp, one tbsp 3x pd or 4 tablets 3x pd.Vitamin C, with bioflavonoids, 1,000 mg 2 - 3 times a day.Vitamin B complex, 100 mg 3x pd Vitamin B 12 -10 mg Injections 3x pw or 1000 mcg 3x pd.Vitamin E, 400 IU 3x pd Herbal MedicineStrophanthus Rosemary Yarrow lavender Mistletoe dan shen Coltsfoot ephedra mate fennel shepherd's purse hyssop ginseng ginkgo biloba Licorice root). It is difficult to work out a protocol for Hypotension with the SCIO. First determine the underlying causes of hypotension. Check THYROID function, kidneys and all the other organs. De-stress, regular HIIT(High Intensity Interval Training) exercise and enough purified water intake. Guest guest
Yes most of us are " leaning on our adreals alot more than nature had intended ie. too much work, lack of sleep cause poor nutrition. It makes the tissues forming the walls of the blood vessels over-relaxed, and flabby or streched. This results in less supply of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues. As well this maybe caused by Loss of blood, slow internal bleeding. Sometimes the blood pressure falls rapidly because of loss of blood. Low blood pressure may also develop gradually because of slow bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, or bladder. Emotional problems are a far more frequent cause of low blood pressure. To a lesser degree, prolonged disappointment and frustration may result in a subnormal blood pressure. Low Blood Pressure theraputics using Beetroot The juice of raw beetroot is one of the most effective remedies for low blood pressure. Drink a cup of this juice twice daily for this condition considerable improvement should be noticeable within a week. The herb Indian spikenard is another effective natural remedy for low blood pressure. It should be taken in doses of thirty to forty grains with a pinch of a little camphor and cinnamon (cinnamon). An infusion can also be prepared by steeping 15 to 20 gm of the herb in 250 ml of boiling water, and taking it thrice a day. Try a hot Epsom salt bath, one of the simplest remedies for low blood pressure. An Epsom salt bath is prepared by dissolving one to one and half kg of Epsom Salt in an ordinary bath of hot water. Immersed in the bath for ten to twenty minutes. This bath should be taken just before retiring to bed, and care should be exercised not to catch a chill afterwards. High Protein foods, vitamin C, and all vitamins of the B group have been found beneficial in low blood pressure cases. Of these, foods/ proteins with pantothenic acid is of particular importance. A diet which contains adequate quantities of complete proteins, B vitamin and, particularly, the nutrients that stimulate adrenal production, quickly normalizes low blood pressure. Salt The use of High altitude sea salt ( Himalayan lakes ) is valuable in low blood pressure. Until the blood pressure reaches normal levels through proper dietary and other remedies, it is essential that the patient should take overly salty foods. After that you might want to try half a teaspoon of this salt in water daily. Exercise, ie walking gardening yoga, perhaps my also help to train you in this situation. > > It is usually low adrenal function, increase good oils and a 1/4 tsp of sea salt. If you cannot get hold of a concentrated form of marine minerals then purchase natural, untouched old sea cave mineral salt. We use Redmonds Real Salt which is from Utah, USA. There are many old sea beds with pure unpolluted mineral salt around the world so look up the one closest to you. This is the simplest way to reactivate the brain-body communication as minerals in the salt are necessary for the brain to deliver messages throughout the body. if you are on drugs for low blood pressure then be alert of effect. Put small amount of natural organic mineral salt in each glass of water. the effect is one of sweetness first. Have not had dizzy spells since starting on the salt 2.5 years ago. This moderates high blood pressure too. If you do regular sessions on the ScioEpfx then have minerals and parasite checked out. Practitioner should have checked these out at the beginning as a matter of course. Also, parasites are always a part of any physical disorder so do parasite cleanses 3-4 back to back. Use natural products only as any drug will make you more toxic. Speaking of toxic body best to use proper nutrition for a month before parasite cleanse to detox the body so that it is prepared for the parasite die-off. You will feel quite ill for a few weeks during this and this is good as it means you are detoxing!! High body odour means high toxicity. I live on the detox diet and have not needed deoderant for 2 years now. if only i could get husband off the meat and dairy. Unfortunately he really stinks to me now as system is squeaky clean. At this point in time i have 5-6 teaspoons of real salt per day. Throw out the toxic white stuff and eat only fresh foods prepared at home... no more garbage chemical laden restaurant and prepackaged foods if you want excellent health. After a month of the mineral salt your skin should begin to look more radiant as the phosphorus is re-introduced to it. practitioner of ScioEpfx saved my life with use of the device combined with entire life-style change on my part. If we don't do the work then we don't get the results. Hope this helps you. Domna

Guest guest
Yoga has been known to helping bring down high blood pressure. It helps the body to relax while toning it up. I've taken yoga before and it does take you to another plain. Here's a little link that I found on it. http://www.americanyogaassociation.org/13hypertension.html
